This week we continue our little impromptu Yorgos Lanthimos with 2018s The Favourite! Starring Olivia Colma, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz, this film follows the battle between cousins Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough and Abigail Hill for the favor of the queen, Anne. Loosely (and we mean loosely) based on historical events, this film is a raucously funny period piece driven by its' three female leads. But many questions remain! Is Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough the heiress of the Marlboro cigarette fortune (Not a sponsor)? (Also, no. We already know the answer to that question - it is no.) How does one treat gout in 18th century Great Britain? (Raw meat, apparently) But... Is The Favourite Good?
