What is one of the worst things a movie can do?  Is it when it's just bad?  Is it when it's good but could be better?  Perhaps both.  However, as I write this, I find myself thinking that Robert Rodriguez's ALITA:  BATTLE ANGEL managed to top both of those options.  It's a movie that has so many good qualities that should make it great, but just barely falls short of legendary status.
