Minority Recruitment Strategies

Our special guest, Executive Training Director at Eastern Atlantic States Technical College, and long-time Carpenter, Rob Smith, took some time to talk about recruitment efforts specifically in the underserved communities in Pennsylvania.

Smith expanded on the statewide Carpenters Apprentice Ready Program  (CARP). CARP is a Pennsylvania state-certified pre-apprentice initiative designed to open doors for people who may not have been exposed to the trades in the past. The goal is to create opportunities and pathways for their future.
