Wirfs, a three-time Pro Bowler, is currently set to play under the fifth-year option of his rookie contract. Meanwhile, former Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead returned to the team on a two-year deal after spending time with the New York Jets, aiming to enhance his coverage skills. Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht openly admitted that re-signing Whitehead was necessary and expressed regret over letting him leave.
