[SPEAKER_02]: All three games against the royals. [SPEAKER_02]: That's a positive, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Be scored. [SPEAKER_02]: But couldn't pull off the W and any of those games. [SPEAKER_01]: Listen, this is just how baseball works. [SPEAKER_01]: You win six straight. [SPEAKER_01]: You lose six straight.
[SPEAKER_02]: And every user is twelve straight. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone knows that. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone knows that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's just, that's an unwritten rule. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: The boys are just following what we've done for the history of time. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So, not worried about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Going into this, I said, they needed to win six of nine to convince me that the win is even possible anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: Did you carry the two?
[SPEAKER_02]: I carried it to drop the one zero. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not possible. [SPEAKER_01]: Not possible. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I said they had the win six of nine after the six game win streak to convince me, even slightly that they could potentially just have a better second half, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Or add to this team, even like we've talked about adding by subtracting, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: and making this team better, especially for next year, and to potentially even make it better this year. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say I'm happy they've lost six in a row. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm always rooting for the Pirates to win, but when they lose these games, [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not upset. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's because I know things are just the same. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything else that happens is just a smoke screen.
[SPEAKER_01]: And if they keep winning and they keep fooling you with the six games here and then they lose a ton not hitting things are still the same. [SPEAKER_01]: We need change and I'm afraid with this organization if things don't go drastically wrong, they're not going to change anything. [SPEAKER_02]: You don't think they may go on drastically wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: It needs to go even further than that. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's gone pretty far, but uh, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like how like talk about the last couple of years, they've won, seventy six games, right? [SPEAKER_02]: They're not even a post on pace that this year, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Not even close. [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing changed in those two years. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: In fact, they said they were getting better. [SPEAKER_01]: How much worse does it need to get you to actually make the change? [SPEAKER_01]: That's where I'm getting at.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it needs to get much, much worse. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They fired Shelton. [SPEAKER_01]: Kelly has been likable. [SPEAKER_01]: Is this the move going forward? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, is this how they go into twenty twenty six? [SPEAKER_01]: And they say, hey, Kelly's our guy. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's the roster that we have. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything's good. [SPEAKER_01]: Or do they need to complete overhaul? [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm leaning towards the ladder.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if Kelly, if I factor Kelly into that decision. [SPEAKER_02]: I still think there's a possibility of strong possibility that he's manager next here. [SPEAKER_02]: Because definitely he's not in her right now, right? [SPEAKER_02]: But I don't know man. [SPEAKER_02]: There's one person that hasn't fooled me. [SPEAKER_02]: That's Tommy Fam. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to do a quick pivot. [SPEAKER_02]: My man is to to fifty right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's hitting to fifty. [SPEAKER_02]: He's the hot he's got one of the hottest bats in the national league. [SPEAKER_02]: This guy [SPEAKER_02]: is just on fire. [SPEAKER_01]: Tommy famine is last seven games is hitting four oh nine, four, eighty, six, thirty, six, a four RBIs, three walks only, three strikeouts in a bomb. [SPEAKER_01]: That's real. [SPEAKER_01]: That's talent there. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, MLB dot com has Tommy fam's nickname as fantastic.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I saw that the other day actually. [SPEAKER_02]: That's, I don't think anyone's ever called him that. [SPEAKER_02]: And if someone did, I think he'd punch him in the face, but we're gonna say the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: If we're on the field next time when we call him fantastic, I think we'll never talk to us again. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm gonna get a head start on running down the left field line.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyways, yeah, no, he's been high in all seriousness, like probably good for his trade value. [SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of guys are playing better at the right time. [SPEAKER_02]: Sure. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's gonna be key going into these next few weeks, right? [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, [SPEAKER_02]: If it's not an aggressive deadline, we're going to have a very soggy sorrow episode after on August first. [SPEAKER_02]: soggy sorrow.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a part of my take for is this soggy sorrows. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sounds gross, but yeah, it is going to be gross and it's going to be very depressing. [SPEAKER_01]: So you want to hear something more depressing?
[SPEAKER_01]: Brian Reynolds in his last seven is hitting zero seventy four point zero seventy four that's a batting average yeah okay there's not a zero to start there yeah I might use to seeing that okay his on base is one oh seven his slugging seventy four okay and he has twelve strikeouts [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's depressing. [SPEAKER_01]: jokes aside it's a good reporting it's an accurate list and things have not been good for Brian Reynolds and I don't know if it needs a change of scenery or I mean the trade value has [SPEAKER_01]: This is a guy that you gave the biggest contract to a pirate history to just been putrid. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think some team teams that are anxious to add bads will see the track record with him because it's more positive than it is negative. [SPEAKER_02]: Sure. [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that I think it's the opposite with Brian Hayes, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think [SPEAKER_02]: He still could bring back a decent return, no matter what, but yeah, the trade demands don't really help his cause, given that they're all contending teams, but also just like I think that Rubbs teams are on the way, that all six teams you would don't want to play for are big, winning organizations right now. [SPEAKER_02]: So that definitely doesn't help.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is why I say it's, I don't understand why teams like necessarily wait until the deadline. [SPEAKER_02]: I get that there's more incentive and and there maybe you get a team to bite more and get when you're on the clock and you've only got ten minutes to go. [SPEAKER_02]: Like I get that but sometimes you can, it's, you can trade someone too late and then, and it comes, it doesn't work in your favor.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he's a guy that could have [SPEAKER_02]: I'll be being gone already and if I had a bet right now, I'd say he doesn't go anywhere by the dead by the dead one. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I agree with that. [SPEAKER_01]: Thinking about it, I would like to keep Ryan Reynolds because like you said, the track record, right? [SPEAKER_01]: But just the reasons he buys is like, man, what is going on here? [SPEAKER_01]: Like we need a fresh start. [SPEAKER_01]: Mitch Keller's been good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the trade rumors. [SPEAKER_01]: If anything, he's helps his value and it's kind of like a love eight when it comes to trading, Mitch Keller. [SPEAKER_02]: Two games flow, five hundred. [SPEAKER_02]: Still going to be a tough matchup man. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's, they have hard tough matchups.

[SPEAKER_02]: Excut command and control rarely beats himself with walks. [SPEAKER_02]: Fastball has elite characteristics, despite average veto, works quickly and pounds the zone that foreseen a little bit more about it. [SPEAKER_02]: This is bread and butter.
[SPEAKER_02]: Despite not lighting up the radar gun, [SPEAKER_02]: It plays up due to elite vertical ride and deception from a low three quarters arm slot. [SPEAKER_02]: Hitters off, can struggle to pick it up, especially up in the zone. [SPEAKER_02]: The splitter was added to his arsenal of twenty-three. [SPEAKER_02]: It gives him a much needed weapon against lefties and helps generate more whiffs and ground balls. [SPEAKER_02]: Still developing it, but has shown flashes of being a plus pitch.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a guy when they acquired him from the rays. [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh, this is like a rate. [SPEAKER_02]: Classic rays pitcher. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure they did not want to give up on him.
[SPEAKER_02]: forget who went back in return for that was he the Nellie cruise trade I can't remember anyways probably probably their ace I mean I know they have Pablo Lopez but he's a really really good arm and he's gonna throw a lot of fastballs and get swings and misses at the top of his up [SPEAKER_02]: It was an L. [SPEAKER_01]: It tunnels well off the fastball with significant drop and arm side fade. [SPEAKER_01]: Generates weak contact and swing and miss, especially against left handed hitters. [SPEAKER_01]: Three games in Minnesota and then thank God for the y'all star break.
