Episode description

This week's episode brings you an incredibly insightful conversation about what it means to be a new hygienist. Kevin Lopez and I dive deep into how we were treated as new hygienists and what that means for us moving forward. We review the importance of upholding your standard of care outside of dental hygiene school. This episode will provide you with ways to avoid burnout and teach you how to excel your career early on.  Kevin Ohashi Lopez, MHA, BSDH, RDH, is a clinical dental hygienist and educator from San Francisco, California. He graduated from West Coast University’s dental hygiene program in 2019 and returned for his master’s degree in health administration. He has presented original research at state and national levels. Currently practicing in the Napa Valley, Lopez has worked in different dental practice settings with experience in front office coordinating, dental assisting, and management. Outside of clinical practice, he serves as a frequent guest speaker and ambassador for West Coast University, mentors new graduates transitioning into the workforce, and teaches National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) reviews with Sanders Board Preparatory.
