The second date of date. You know, whenever people say that they saw a movie on their date, I just assume they mean Netflix and chill. Yeah, assumption these days, and probably very little actual movie watching when they sent it. How was the movie? I don't really remember and not really actually much chilling if you're doing it right. Yeah, apparently there was a time before Netflix when you'd go out and you'd have to see a film in person.
I don't know when was that, Like the nineteen eighties, not as cool to take your pants off there No one of our listeners. Joseph says he recently took a woman out to the movies. I don't know whether his pants were on or off during it, but I guess we'll find out. Joseph, how you doing, man, I'm doing well. I think my pants were on. Must have felt weird. Can I ask? Why do you choose a movie theater for your first date? Well? We had bonded over Marvels,
you know, our love for Marvel Okay, yeah, cool? Those are always better in theaters too, Sure they're I mean they're just built for theaters. Yeah, that's the whole reason they make that film and their whole universe, like there's a lot to talk about when you're like, you can't talk in the theaters though, No, you're right, you're right. There's a lot of angles that like the convos can go because there's so much in the Marvel universe. Right, So,
what was this woman's name? Monica? Monica? Did you meet her on a Marvel Yeah? Did you meet her on a Marvel fan site? No, we met online, but we did connect over Marvel. Okay, okay, okay. And so you guys decided to go see one of them together? How how did it go? There's always one out, there's always like seven time, But how did things go? At the theater? Things were great. I mean we were like both really vibe in the movie. We laughed at the same parts,
which is good, and it went really well. There was one thing that happened, but I'm not sure if it's like the reason that she's not calling or not. There's a romantic part in the movie and I look over to her and she's kind of like looking at the screen like why and everything. So I didn't turn the look where for my hand? And I went to go put my arm around her, and I kind of like punch her in the face a little Oh, I know, and we both kind of laughed about it. That's really funny.
Wait can I ask you though, I mean, like in that moment, did you end up still doing it? Did you still do the arm across over? Yeah? No? No? No? Yeah. Isn't it kind of weird? I mean, did you guys go to drinks or anything beforehand? Does every date have to involve getting drunk? Brook? No, I've been saying, like, did you spend any time getting to know each other? Like you meet somebody on a different question and it could be coffee. I'm just saying, did you do anything
before the movie? Because you end a movie you don't talk the whole time, and then you're suddenly putting your arm around this stranger like that seems kind of like an intense move. You didn't connect prior to the movie. I mean, we had been talking online for a bit. It wasn't like a kid the thing where it's like we're in the same vicinity. We met a little bit before the movie, so we could just walk around a
little and kind of share our excitement over over the movie. Okay, so there was enough time before the movie started where you could actually chat with each other and get to know each other a little bit before the movie started. But you never did answer Brooks question about alcohol. Was there any I snack a little bit in? Okay, you were sneaking drink kid, a gallon of vodka. That's a good question. What did you sneak it in? What do you mean, I'm just a bottle, like, you know, like
like a water bottle. Okay. I thought maybe there was a flask or yeah, you guys the movie sweat for what time you're gonna turn me in over here? I want to know? So okay, so how did things go after the movie was over? After you were done punching her in the face. So we were outside and we were outside of the theater, and the conversation was going good, I thought, And I thought it was like building up to me going in for a kiss. And I went
to go in and she gives me a hug. Oh yeah, Well maybe she saw it coming and she knew how to over the shoulder arm grab, so she was like, I better get out of here. Yeah, So that was a little disappointing. And then she was like, all right, I gotta go and then that was it. Oh man, I gotta say it sounds like she wasn't feeling it, like she didn't give you any like we'll do it again sometimes. Yeah, yeah, there's another Marvel movie coming out next week. We should probably go see. She didn't give
you anything, nothing, nothing. I'm confused. I thought we had a good time and like we connected. I thought I don't know. I thought maybe I'm just completely misreading this. But yeah, okay, well we're gonna play a song, we'll come back, we'll call Monica for you, and we'll try and get you your second date update. All right, man, I appreciate it. Yeah, he'll be your real life superhero. That's my comic joke. You're just gonna do it after this.
Hold On the success of today's second date update really comes down to one simple question. That's can you come back from accidentally punching your date in the face of I can't tell you how many times we've had to ask that question on this show before we're gonna have to do it again. I mean, it wasn't close fist, I hope. I mean you're just trying to reach around, Yeah, exactly.
Reach on is a weird way to say that. One of our listeners, Joseph took his date to the New Marvel movie and while he was trying to put his arm around her, Yeah, he accidentally clocked her in the head and the night ended with a really quick hug before she ran off, saying she had to get going. So now he needs us to be his sidekicks and fight for him to get another chance out of date. Yeah, we're gonna be sidekicks. Yeah, Joseph, where are you at
right now? Where's your head at? I don't know, I'm nervous. I just want to see what she says. Yeah, I mean you did apologize right when you accidentally hit her. Yeah, I mean it was like, oh my god, sorry, like one of those you know, I like we kind of laughed about I don't know, and you're in the middle of the movie, so you can't talk. A lot people around you probably hate you. I don't know. One stepped
in to stop you annoying ate in silence. All right, you know we're on your team, man, So we're here for you. We're gonna call Monica and we're gonna see what she has to say. You ready, I'm ready. All right, I'm gonna be the black widow to your captain. America. Why that's Scarlett Johansson. Am I right? So just picture me in a black leather, skin tight outfit as I dial Monica's number. I'd rather not. We're a team. We gotta have each other's back. Here we go right back
in that outfit. Hello. Hi, I'm looking for Monica. Oh this is Monica. Hey Monica, how you doing. My name is Jeff from the radio show Brooke and Jeffrey in the Morning. Uh, Hi, can I help you? Yeah? I mean it sounds like you don't know who we are. I know on the radio, I'm Jeff, but I'm also known by Batman. No, I'd like to wander around the city and help strangers with their love lives. That's actually true. I just realized Batman's not in the Marvel University. Fail
on my part. Oh, I didn't know that we were still going with it anyway. Sorry, Monica, are you still there? Yeah? Um? What's this about? Wow? She's laughing? Horror? You hate DC, don't you, Monica? Yeah? So the real reason that I'm calling is because we're doing something from our show called a second Date Update. It's where we help our listeners who've been out on a date recently and they can't reach the person that they went out with. Sorry, this
is all really confusing, the Batman, all of it. I'm just confused right now. Yeah, I'll just be a little bit more straightforward with you. You recently went out with a guy to the movies named Joseph. Yeah, okay, you guys bonded over loving Marvel together. Hence our attempted also bonding with you and backfired. So he's the one that reached out to us because you're not texting him back after the date, and he thinks maybe he knows why,
but he isn't one hundred percent sure. Okay, so you just like want to know why basically, Yeah, just to put his mind at ease, or I mean, if he did something wrong, he would like to know so that going forward, he doesn't do it again. All right, it's gonna makes me sound really bad, is no, it screamly sound bad. I don't know, because he punched you in the face during your date show pretty much, and he's according to him, it was cute. Honestly, it was great great, No,
I don't mean like great is and I loved it. It It was just like a funny thing that happened during the movie, right, Okay, Well, I think it's just going to clarify that. I mean, it's good though. It's a good side that you could like laugh at his mistake like that. Yeah, and it's good because we've had people on the show before that have really enjoyed being punched too. The family all gets in on it that it was a woman. It was a woman, It was a whole deal.
So we're anyway, you're looking to make sure that we get the real reason why you're not calling him back. Okay. So basically, I'm like a huge Marvel fan. Like I met Joe on a dating app, and I had met another guy that wanted to watch the new Marvels show that just dropped on Disney Plus and it just timed out weird, And so I actually left the movie with Joe and went to meet this other guy at his house one day. That is so long. You doubled down on your Marvel boys. Yeah, I don't feel good about it.
I mean, I double booked myself and I was late to see the other guy. So we oh, are you not calling Joe back because the the other guy turned out better? You liked him more, not necessarily. It's just like his situation is, it's like this animated series, so there's going to be new episodes, and then we kind of got into watching other Marvel shows that we kind of wanted to binge together. So I came over like two days after and watched more with him. And so
that's just more of a consistent thing. So are you saying that you can't decide whether or not you like him or not until the entire series is over. I think it's just like a more consistent plan, Like he's like the Marble TV show guy, whereas like Joe, I guess, would be like the Marble movie. Do you have a reason to go back to dinner? Yeah? But the movie was just a one off. I mean, like there's not another movie coming out to the labors literally like every month.
This sounds like you're basing your dating life on the show you're watching instead of the person you're out with. Well, like, it sounds bad when you say it like that. I mean, he tastes a big deal brook if. But I'm sure that Joe would like to watch the series with you too. Well that's fine, but I'm kind of already booked for that. So You're not in a relationship with the other dude because you like him. You're just in a relationship with him.
I'm not a relationship with either of them. Have my Marvel TV guy and my Marvel movie guy and they're kind of separate. Oh I like that. So when the movie does come out, are you willing to go and see it with Joe? Yeah? I think I'll probably hit him off. Is a date or a viewing buddy? I don't know. And I really want to know what Joe has to think about this, because Monica, I didn't tell you this, but your Marvel movie guy is on the other line listening to this conversation and he wants to
talk to you. I'm just disgusted. WHOA Okay, the Marvel movie guy. I'm in the Marvel Movie guy box. I know it's a brand new category. This is if I didn't want to tell you, Like, I feel like better to just go to the movies and not have it be like explicitly what it is. That's really bague. Yeah, that's really bigue. I feel kind of bad, but like, I didn't plan it this way, It's just what happened. I feel like, while you're while you're confused and you
don't know how to explain yourself. Monica, I get that, but just take the movies and the TV shows out of the picture for a second, and which guy do you like hanging out with more? I guess it's hard because it just depends what's on right now. You can't you can't imagine yourself, like at dinner, picture it together. You're sitting down and sitting across from you, the first face you want to see is Tony Start. I mean, he's my favorite Iron Man. I don't know that that's
the options. At least she didn't say group. Okay, that's all the saying. I mean, Joseph free, Joseph Man. I haven't heard from you in a bit. What are you? What are you thinking right now? I'm a one Marvel woman kind of man. Okay, one woman sounds like an awful Marvel character. I mean, when the next Marvel movie comes out, you don't want to call her and see if she's up for seeing it again. He doesn't have to call me. I'm gonna call him when that happens.
I'm gonna get the tickets in you. I got to get there on like opening night. But that's already I was going to grow in anyone else. You don't have to do that. Oh, that's right, you don't have to do that because we're gonna offer to do it for you. We're gonna offer to send you guys out on a date. That is the voice, the voice in the back. Correct, Okay, that's Jose. Let Jeff finish his question. It's important. Don't talk over the black widow. Okay, would you want to
go out again? We'll pay for it before he starts doing martial arts. Wait, who are you asking? Are you asking Mo? Are you asking? I'm asking Monica? Okay, Monica, would you go out with Joe one more time and we'll pay for it? No, well, Joe, I was asking Monica there, But it sounds like you've changed your mind. Joe. You know we're not exclusive. I feel like you're taking it really personally and like the show is gonna end, you know what I mean, Like, oh my god, you
thank you all. I appreciate your help today. Thank you very much, Joe's quentin. This feels exactly the same as when iron Man died at the end of Died Never Die spoiler alert, and bat Man shows up at the end of the one that killed me. Okay, that's broke, and Jeffrey in the morning,
