Second date. How are the thousands of phone calls that we've done over the years, I've never heard of a couple meeting the way that Jacob met his date. Oh really, I love that. It's a good meat story. And the cool thing is they both made money off their own dates. Okay, so double winning here. Let's find out more, Jacob, welcome to the show. Hey, I'll be going to hear me. Oh yeah, you sound richer from wherever whatever you did to meet your Yeah, money bags. We'll find out where
the dates started in just a second. But first, tell us about the girl. What's her name? I mean, the first time you met Brendley, Like, the first moment you laid eyes on her, did you know you were like into her? Not a media of heavy How many babies do you want to have? It's like more than that. It's like chemistry, you know, like do you instantly know? Like no, but instantly no. I instantly knew that Yes was in a relationship. At the time, I did not
know that. Okay, let's focus on all right, Yeah, Jacob, where the butterflies going off? Did rainbows shoot across the sky? What happened? I saw the picket fans and the minivan. No no, no, no, no, look he was really pretty but I didn't know yet. Okay, normal, where were you guys? How did you meet? So this is the weird part. We met at one of those health research study. What is that? You know? You kind of go in for a few days and they do like medical test thing
and the sleepy kind of like that. No, no, it was like six hours a day. We still were able to go home. Okay, but what did you okay? So are you were one of the test subjects? Yeah? Look I was laid off at the time, and my friend was like, hey, you can make a few of the bucks for a few days. I was like, dude, I mean, hold on, are they like giving you medicine and see if you have an allergic reaction? Like what do you do? I don't even know what it is. It was called
a BPS study. What's up? What does it stand for? I don't know. I Google, like you did your research too well. It was supposed to be about anonymity, right, and they didn't want us to know anything or it could ruin the study. So all we were doing was more like athletics things. So it was like go to this side of the room, walk here or walk to the other end, and they do it, and then we do it, and then we maybe run a little bit weird. Did you feel like a lab rat? Um? I felt
like a hamster. Okay, they did make us run on wheels. Yeah, but I mean it's pretty crazy. So you're in this group and she's there too. Yeah, yeah, so we we we're in a room, a waiting room at the beginning, and she was sitting across from me and we chatted a little bit and she's like it was kind of similar situations, like, oh, I got laid off too. Yeah, it was kind of boring, but I got to know her better later because we got split up in like
groups of eight and she happened to be in my group. Okay, Okay, I just have to ask, like, is the test study is that considered your date? That was not the first, I guess date. That was just us being forced to be together. Okay, so romantic studies, kissing stif At what point in this like medical exercise, do you make your
move to ask her out? Well, right before it ended, I was saying, hey, maybe we can grab a cup of coffee after we get out, and she was like cool, so we went to a coffee shop nearby and were able to shit chat a little bit. Got to know where better than you know, lab rat talk. So I know, I just keep picturing you guys in like an all white room and white jumpsuits. You know. I'm yeah, it's like some two way mirror and everybody's watching it climb
the road. So there was the weirdest part was when we were are forced to lay down face first on a bean bag. What yeah, what study? I just heard like you said, I heard the voice. Now there's a bean bag. Maybe this is like some sort of intelligence Stuffy did, like a hospital, he'sa a number in a bathroom or rest up, it's no the room, Yo, that sounds more fun. Now I was wondering where the love
connection was happening, and now it's coming in. Okay. I know we're concentrating a lot about this experience for you. It's interesting, it is, But I want to know about coffee. How is that coffee was good? I mean it was definitely normal. Now we were addressed like normal humans and d you know, when you bond over something traumatic, easier to bond. Yeah, you know, we both were talking about like we wanted to go to college but didn't go. We both were like in the Mexican food specifically, I
love burritos, like jazz music. Brindley's not calling you back, Like, I can't believe you experience this all with her. You go to coffee, even if she only wanted to be friends, Like, it seems like you guys are so connected at this point. Well that's what I'm thinking, because I did vibe enough and I was like, you know, let me be a little bit more straightforward, and it's like, I'd like to see you again for a second date. And she was like, well, you text me because I'm a little busy right now,
and so I did, which was cool. I didn't hear anything for a few days, but I was like, let me not keep jumping the gun and text all the time. But it's been like five days and I text maybe two more times and I still haven't heard anything. Yeah, that busy. Are you worried that she's like laying down face first and someone else's being back. Let's call friendly. We're gonna play a song first, we'll come back. We'll give her a call, and we'll try and get your
second day up. Dat. I'm all right, don't hold on. How is Hallmark not doing this love story right now? Two people down on their luck volunteer for a clinical study together to make some quick cash, and the scientist's goal was to find out if they have BPS whatever that is. For all we know it's a made up acrony. They never explained it to them, and why was a bean bag involved? That's what they found at the end, that the two of them were both great at laying
face down in beanbags. Yeah, so they have that going for them, But what about love? Is that a factor here? That's our job to be the researchers. That's right, We're gonna figure this out. I'm glad that they left that to the real scientists. Jacob, how's your face? How's your heart? Oh buddy? Oh lord. Jeff's taking this very seriously. He's actually about to put on Latex club. I'm invested in there. Yeah. Actually, I actually am surprised she's like ghosting you saw. I
think we can get this one back on track. I hope. So. I mean, we've definitely started in worse places when we're calling people before. There actually seems like there might be something here. So I'm gonna doll her number right now, you feel ready, I'm ready? All right, let's do this mane Hello. Hey is this brend Lee? Uh? This is I was going to say something. We're saying send. We're still doing this. I'm sorry. Who are you? Oh? Yeah,
So we're a radio show called Brooken Jeffrey in the Morning. Jeffrey, I'm jeff and we're doing something called a second Date Update. Okay, are you calling me? Because we're doing the second Date Update thing. That's where we help our listeners reach out to someone that they met out in the world that they had a connection with. It's kind of like a love study. Recently, we heard that you were involved in a little bit of a study with a guy named Jacob. Okay,
job Jacob Jacob. That's a joke, all right, Yeah, I know him, super fun. Yeah, I mean he seemed to think that you guys made a real connection, like one during the study. But then afterwards it sounds like you guys went to coffee. Um, I probably shouldn't talk about this is gonna get in trouble. We don't need to know about like the medical stuff. Yeah, we're just calling because Jacob said he had a great time with you, and he hasn't been able to reach you since you
guys hung out and he doesn't really know why. Yeah, I just I don't really think I should be talking to you about this. Are you Why are you single? I'm not involved with anybody. Okay, Okay, We're not trying to delve too deep into your personal life. We're just trying to help Jacob understand what's going on between you two.
I mean, from his perspective, you guys spent a lot of time together, and then he thought that you had a lot of shared interest, like when you actually got to go to coffee and talk about your lives, like it seemed like you to him, made a real connection. Yeah, but um, everybody had to sign a believer. So well, you also told us about the strong connection you felt while Lyne faced down in bean bags. He told you that. Yeah, he definitely wasn't supposed to talk about the bean bags
or anything like that. Oh well, sorry, we don't mean to break bean bag code on the show. But I mean, honestly, we don't know who did the study. We don't know where you were signed up. We don't care. Yeah, I mean it's true, like we don't know what it was for like we're just talking about like playing clothes, non medical baits. Yeah, we're just focused on Jacob. Can you tell us what you thought of Jacob? Okay? Well, um, I was attracted to him. Okay, huge tie. It's a
good person. But that's great. A cute behind that works fine? Oh kind Okay, I don't know. I'm sure you couldn't see her face was in the bean bag. Very nice behind. So wait, why aren't you calling him back? Then? He really likes you too, It sounds perfect well, to be honest with you, I even though it was part of the study, I'm really a researcher. I was researching him the whole time, and they weren't supposed to know that. Oh my gosh, you worked for the study. Why don't
you have to write down in a beanbag? This has been driving me crazy. I can't really talk about that. It's still looking their buds. You said yourself though, that you thought that Jacob was attractive. Well, that's the thing, Like, I'm attracted to him, but I feel like it's uneffable to go out with him. But you already went out to him to coffee. Why did you agree to that? Well, the study was a two day study and he asked me out halfway through, and I felt like I had
to follow through with it. But even that was crossing the line. I mean, that makes sense though if you say no, then you probably won't be able to But it's such a good love story, you know, like the researcher with the lab Brad that she's not supposed to stay here. I don't know, trying to be the rat that situation kind of love story. I think it did
get a little bit juice here. And before you go back to the lab Brindley, we do need to let you know that Jacob has been listening on the other line this entire time here and he wants to talk to you. Jacob, Hello, not a rat at hamster. Yeah that's right, that's right, you felt like a hamster. I forgot sorry, buddy. Now I'm a little confused. Did anything that you said? Was it any of it true? Or was it all made up? Oh? Well, the quote unquote
facts were made up about me. But I do enjoy your company, and I do like you, and I like hanging out with you. And you don't like Mexican food. I like Mexican food, but like you know the whole part about in not going to college and well, I mean, obviously you you had. It's an education since you're a researcher. Yeah. I mean, I'm not a huge fan of jazz, but I do like you and I would like to get
to know you. But at this point, I just don't you feel like it's completely an athlicol, Like, well, isn't the study over? His part is over, but my part is not. I still have work to do in researcher do It's how long does it go on for? I mean, are we talking this thing will wrap up in a couple of months or we you know, well, these things take hears I mean, is bps really that big of a problem. I'm not little never heard of it. Okay,
you shouldn't even be saying that on the radio. I understand that you think it's not ethical, but love isn't always ethical, Okay, Sometimes you just have to follow your heart and ignore the ethics. And I would go, it's always ethical, Yeah, especially especially when you travel to Thailand. There is no ethics. It's all love over there. And I would like to offer that. Okay. I think that we're trying to get Brentley to go out with you again.
I mean, look, I say this, like, weird things start from the strangest places, and you just don't always have answers. Sometimes you just go with the flow, right, But I say, I thought we had a connection to I still think you're you're extremely gorgeous and you had a nice personality. And if that's true, hey, what the heck? Right? I mean, but that's again of the day, dude, you're making this hard.
I can't see us in the radio, but I do want to ask you, like just to save me an email to say about is there anything weird going on with your urine at all? Like waver like okay, the relationship or subt I'm not allowed to answer over the air. Okay, see, you can ask him about his urine on your first date and we'll pay for it. Well, I don't know. It's really kind of like I get a new job. Yes,
you know. It's just like what I was saying is like, do it ask for forgiveness later one of the other scientists will figure out bps gosh, here's what I can agree to you right now? Okay, you can text me and we can discuss things off air. Oh yes, it's like a BP. Yes, I feel like she was a little it's at least a BP. Maybe that's good enough for me. I think we're going to try and send you guys on another date. An agreeing to that, I'm just saying we can't talk about things. Yeah, yeah, are
you excited to go? I can only not agree or agree, so I can't say on the air either, Yes, I don't know if you fully study. I think that's broken. Jeffrey in the morning
