Episode 3: 03 Sleep in Heavenly Peace

In this episode, Associate Pastor Rev. Kathy Altman sits down with BHUMC's B.A. List and Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) Chapter Support Lead Lou Stavely to discuss the amazing work to provide every child in need with a bed. SHP has a location in Ijamsville, Maryland and began like many other charities, in a garage. It was Christmastime, a time of joy and happiness, a time of giving and love, but also a time of bitter, cold weather and snowstorms. A project that was started with the build of one bed for a single family developed into something a whole lot more. The wood left over from the first bunk inspired an idea, “Who else could benefit from this bunk?” BHUMC has partnered with SHP on previous bed builds and recently sponsored an event in May 2023.
