Isaac sat down with certified peer specialist Verum Visand and had a deep discussion about Verum's journey into and out of addiction. He has been in recovery for 6 years and has worked in the recovery field for 3 years. Verum attributed his addiction to a combination of personal circumstances, such as a broken home and lack of guidance, and a wrong path of decision making. He also emphasized the importance of understanding addiction as a symptom of a mental illness, the role of resilience and hope, and his personal journey towards recovery. They also touched upon the legalization of marijuana in Ohio, the role of a peer specialist, and Verum's plans for a podcast and online community.
