Global allocation Fund represents the best of T.Rowe Price in a single fund. Our diversified and durable design is characterized by a "be everywhere" approach, which provides a predictable performance profile. In contrast in many of our world allocation peers that follow a "go anywhere" approach, one that can result in higher volatility or chunkier performance patterns as they seek to time markets.
With regard to our investment approach, we look to add value in three areas: through strategic design research, through tactical allocation where we tilt the portfolio to take advantage of opportunities or mitigate risks, as well as through security selection. Reflecting the insights of T. Rowe Price's global research team of over four hundred analysts. This is the same investment process that informs over six hundred billion dollars Canadian in multi-asset portfolios at
T. Rowe Price. As well, my co-portfolio manager Toby Thompson and I manage over sixty five billion Canadian in global allocation and target allocation portfolios in funds, separate accounts, sub-advised mandates as well as model portfolios. When we look at the sources of value added, the portfolio design is developed in collaboration with our multi-asset research team.
We work with our research team in identifying asset classes and sub asset classes that provide the appropriate exposures to meet our long term objectives. They identify the allocations to those segments based upon return expectations, volatility, as well as correlations, and help to inform how much we have in those asset class and sub asset class allocations, as well as the role in the portfolio, whether as a core, a diversifier or a risk hedge.
With regard to tactical allocation, these reflect the views of our asset allocation committee. In addition to co portfolio manager of the Bridgehouse portfolio, I am co chair of the T. Rowe Price asset allocation committee, which has provided insights into our asset allocation portfolio since we brought our force multi asset strategy up in 1990.
The committee meets on a monthly basis and brings together views of senior and seasoned investment professionals within the firm with, perspectives from across the global capital markets. The asset allocation committee looks out over investment horizon of six to eighteen months with a focus on valuations, fundamentals, the macro environment, as well as sentiment.
From a security selection perspective, Toby Thompson and I allocate capital among sector specialists who work with our global equity and fixed income research team in identifying securities for the portfolio. This is really reflective of the broad global reach of the firm and extends beyond two portfolio managers in Baltimore as it leverages the full global research capability of the four hundred plus fundamental research analysts.
