And of course you have the House side, which is not thrilled with the sentence version for several handful of Republicans, So don't know whether it's actually going to get passed or whether to get passed by the July fourth, self imposed deadline. Keep your popcorn out on that. We'll dive through some of the details in the Senate bill a little bit later. But here in the state of Ohio, I've and talking about this a lot, but

it's not going to be on the ballot. The group circulating positions to petitions to eliminate the property taxes remember that, Yeah, Well, they don't have enough or they won't have enough signatures

Speaking with WCPO, Beth Blackmar, spokesman for the Committee to Eliminate Property tax said they wouldn't divulge how many of the required four hundred and thirteen thousand, four and eighty seven valid signatures they have collected, but conceded that they won't have enough for the deadline, which is today June thirtieth.

The Senate version does from twenty to twenty two hundred dollars and extends it permanently. As far as taxes on overtime car loans and tips, it will allow deducting the first twenty five thousand dollars in income from tips, deducting up to twelve thousand, five hundred income from overtime pay for single filers, twenty five thousand for joint filers. here's an interesting provision. It allows you to deduct up to ten thousand dollars for car Loan interest on American

made vehicles. Wonder if that's broken down by percentage of American made parts anyway, As my senior friends out there, Instead of Trump's no taxes on Social Security, which you did campaigned on and has pushed, the Senate version allows seniors to deduct six thousand of their Social Security income, with that amount reducing once income passes seventy five thousand dollars for single filers or one hundred and fifty for joint single filers who make more than one hundred and

seventy five thousand dollars or more. Joint Filers with dual income over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars are not

eligible for the deduction. Immigration and border security, the Senate version dedicates one hundred and fifty billion dollars toward immigration enforcement, thirty billion of which is for ICE enforcement, thirteen point five billion in grants for state and local governments to assist ICE in their efforts, forty five billion dollars for detention of illegal immigrants, forty six and a half billion for the construction of a border, the wall along the

US Mexico border. Apparently this funding covers through the end of fiscal year twenty twenty nine.

Of that one hundred and fifty seven twenty nine billion for enhancing US maritime capabilities in shipbuilding, twenty five billion for munitions, twenty five billion for Israel's Golden Dome Missile defense Project, Israel's defense project. Clean energy tax credits, several of them included in the Inflation Reduction Act, are being cut, some as early as this year. Electric vehicle tax credit ends September thirtieth.

In the Senate, build hydrogen, wind, solar clean energy products would need to be online by December thirty first of twenty twenty seven or January first of twenty eight, depending on the type. blue state Republicans. Bill makes several tweaks the federal education policy, reducing Pelgram eligibility for high income students students with a full ride. Good proposes two federal student loan repayment plans, including one traditional payment plan and one income based repayment plan.

At least they're talking about repayment as opposed to debt forgiveness, restrictions on regulating AI, and the bill requires that states refrain from regulating artificial intelligence for ten years as a condition to receive their portion of a newly created five hundred million dollar broadband fund.

This measure is described as bipartisan, So you have Democrats who don't want property taxes, and you have Republicans who don't want property taxes, especially when they jump thirty percent in a single year. So maybe this is enough a warning shot over the bow that they actually will do something productive for ar to well reduce our property taxes.
