Five o five at fifty five KRC, the talk station. Happy Friday, sesay a vacation. There is a woohoo for Friday, woo hoo for the end of the Republican National Convention, which by all accounts went off pretty well across the board. Even Democrats are kind of acknowledging that unity within the Republican Party for a change, rallying around Donald Trump and Jade Vans and the message of unity that was obviously at the forefront of Donald Trump' speech last night.
A very happy Friday to you Brian Thomas here, and I've got a rundown in front of me that just put a smile on my face from ear to ear. Thank you Joe Strecker for making Friday uh that much better here on the fifty five KRC Morning Show. Check out the guests we got lined up. I interviewed Brianna Marina from Morello Brionna Morello, not Marino, that's Bernie
Moreno, Brionna Morello's podcast. I interviewed her after the show yesterday. We're gonna get her thoughts about the RNC and JD vance of course prior to the Trump speech. So when you hear her at six h five and can be like, why how come she's not talking about Donald Trump's acceptance speech. That's why because I talked to her yesterday right after the show Brionna Morello podcast.
You can find her on line at Briannamarello dot com. Tech Friday with Dave Hadter and uh Oh got a massive global problem on her hands late edition news over the night of Apparently there's a crowd Strike, which is a cybersecurity firm. They have software all over the world used by what is described as scores of industries to help protect against hackers and outside breaches. Well, there was a massive massive outage of that particular piece of software yesterday overnight rather and it
has impacted the entire globe. I'll give you the on that Momentarily. We will talk with Dave Hatter about that. Coming up at six thirty. We'll also talk about City Fort Wright updating its website for enhanced security reasons and apparently hacker paid four hundred thousand dollars to erase data. Okay, we'll get the details from Dave. Hat are always interesting with Dave, very important segment to
listen to during the week. Retired military friend of the show, friend of the community, and if you maybe have had an active shooter training class, probably taught by our guests. At seven oh five, Bob Kattire, Bob will be in studio to talk about assassination from the point of the assassin. He's got all kinds of training in that regard, So, Bob, retired military, thank you so much for your service to our country. Bob,
looking forward to having you in the studio to talk about that issue. Also weird, there is very little details on this, but since he's talking about assassination. Of course, obviously going back to last Saturday, something Donald Trump spoke about, he said, the last time he'll talk about it. You are a rather emotional account of that particular mone in time in his life.
Representative Matt Waltz out of a Republican out of Florida. Uh, the murderer, the would be murderer of Donald Trump, the murderer of that poor comparatory guy. According to Matt Waltz, he this guy had three encrypted overseas accounts. Huh. It was on Jesse Water's Prime Time last night. He said he spoke with agents of a few hours ago. That will be last night. Earlier in the day. The agents are pissed, they're frustrated. They
repeatedly asked for resources. Donald Trump isn't your normal average former president. He's not Jimmy Carter sitting the old folks home. Like the shooter had three I'm just reading what he had to say. Other things are coming out, like the shooter had three encrypted accounts overseas. At the same time we're having an Iranian plot. I think this is going to go much broader, much deeper.
Pressed by Jesse Waters on that issue, Walt stole down and said crooks had three crypto accounts the FBI was trying to get access to, but they have to work with liaisons overseas, he suggested. In order to do that,
we're going to get to the bottom of this beginning Monday. He said, Okay, well, honestly, part of me wants to think he did have three overseas accounts encrypted, so at least get some information on this guy, his motivations, and whether he was perhaps swayed by outside forces, perhaps
through social media. One of the stories we're going to talk about with tech Frida's Day have had are more and more parents not giving kids a smartphone, which whether we get to it or I remains to be seen since we got this new update on CrowdStrike. But that's a good idea keeping your children protected from evil forces that lurk everywhere on the internet. I was day represented Adam Bird joins a program at seventh thirty. I told it's a good lineup.
Seven point thirty District sixty three's Adam Byrd latest on HB one eighty three, Ohio's bathroom Bill, followed by Lantis Timmins Public High School League Reunion weekend. Landis give us the details on that. The seven forty five break. Brian Ibel from Help Squad back in studio at eight oh five. Brian's a hell of a good guy, real charitable guy, and of course in his post law enforcement career he's taken on helping out those in need with the Help Squad.
We've had Help Squad on quite a few times. Apparently they've got a movie out as well. Brian will give us the deeds on that at eight oh five. And then Gary Byrne with his books Crisis of Character that was from twenty sixteen and Secrets of the Secret Service twenty seventeen, expert on things related to the Secret service. We'll get his thoughts on the attempt at assassination of Donald Trump at a thirty great lineup. Thank you again, Executi producer
Joestreker. I always enjoy hearing from you. I've got something to say. Feel free to call five one three, seven four nine to fifty five hundred eight hundred and eight two three talk or go with pound five fifty on at and T funds, and of course always a reminder head on over to fifty five care seed dot com podcast when you can't listen live or want to hear it again or send a link to your friends. That's where you do that. Why er at fifty five care se dot com com. I strongly encourage
you to get a copy of the iHeartMedia apps. You can listen wherever you happen to be on your smart device. Yeah, this massive global tech outage, I think it took. It started this morning really early, like it at least was overnight airlines, medical services, banks, businesses all over the
world. And it really isn't a great illustration of just the idea that everybody's using one particular software platform this and I don't know a lot about it, which is why I'm happy we have dave on it CrowdStrike so ubiquitous that the entire world is shutting down as a consequence of this crash. Designed and protecting aainst hackers and breaches, but problem appears to result this problem that's manifested itself,
resulting in crashings of machines running Microsoft Windows operating system. Over in France, all kinds of media outlets reporting problems. The businesses that have an impact that are reporting they aren't familiar to me, and I doubt they would be. The TF one and Canal Plus among the most watch According to post on X, they could not go on the air. Media outlets can't go on the air. We're all on stage, but there's a gigantic break down in
the control room making it impossible to go live. That's according to this I guess is a news outle of TF one out as disrupted programming on Australian broadcasters as well, including national broadcaster the Australian Broadcasting Corporation SBS Australia. Special Broadcasting Services Australia also had to go to Instagram to tell viewers that they were having
problems as well. Also in the US, affecting nine to one one lines in what are described as multiple states, cording to the US Emergency alert systems on social media, which said that people experiencing emergencies should call their local police or fire department. Manchester Airport scenes of chaos reported online, long lines and
departure terminals. Only two of the dozen or so check encounters were even working, and according to the announcement at that airport, they were talking about worldwide outages, lots of planes not going to be taken off today. Globally, Britain's National Health Service loss of access to its computer systems, and a number of hospitals and doctor's office which rely on the same internal IT systems the entire systems shut down. Over to North or South Korea, Soul's Insheon Airport Delta
having problems. I guess pilot came out to talk to the group of passengers attruning the problems too Microsoft platform. He said he had never had to make an announcement like that in his career. Alaska call centers nine to one to one specifically identified in one of the reports. Airport sports in Europe also experiencing delays Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris, London, Gatwick, airport issuing warnings for delays a check in urging customers to arrive for their regular check in
times. Nonetheless, but I think things are spiraling a little bit more out of control. All these reports poured in over the last say half hour. Berlin's airport flights canceled for three hours between seven am and ten am. Twelve million passengers in the first six months of the year at that particular airport alone.
Other airports, Amsterdam having the same problem. South Africa's largest bank one of them, anyway, Capitec Bank, twenty two million customers at some of its services had also been disrupted because of well, this particular issue, so again global, you know, it is real. It's a profound indication the fragility of everything we can. We rely exclusively on the internet for so much anymore, everything even for phone calls. You know it's going over an internet
line. You get your get your phone system through your cable company. Now. But when you see something like this happen, maybe it's a cautionary tale. Maybe we should learn something from it, or maybe we should I guess plan ahead. Always think about that kind of thing when you're faced with reality
like this. Anyway, tech Friday's Dave had to rules definitely address that and give us and fill in all the holes to the issue and explain for us, which is one of the reasons why I love having them on the program five one three, seven eight two three TALKO with Pound five fifty eighteen t phones anybody else think like everybody in the liberal media is saying that this is
the weekend Joe Biden will step down. Wow, there's almost uniform reporting on that across the spectrum, with the noted notable example of a couple of people really really close to Biden who say he's sticking with it. Tom Jones five on a Friday and a happy one to you. Yeah, they're all wining up, one by one by one, more and more of the Democrats coming out of the woodwork kind of convinced Joe Biden to drop out of the race. Barack Obama is uh well, directly and indirectly. He's out there telling his friends who to get in touch with Biden.
He's hearing from a lot of his people, but of course Obama's people are Biden's people. Lisa Apart already sends it they want Biden out. Chuckie Schumer is already on record, at least for the most part, not denying that he's asked Biden to get out. Senator John Tester now the second Democratic Senator to call for Biden to get out of the race. They've got some
internal polling. Democrats and Republicans always have their own internal polling. So while we have yes like the new Emerson poll that was dropped yesterday showing Trump leading across the board, including all of the swing states and increasing his lead, Democrats also do their own internal polling, and detailed report compiled by Democrats shows the president forecast to lose in an electoral college landslide, resulting in even more
calls both publicly and privately, for him to get out of the race. According to the Wall Street Journal report of the data was based on thousands of voter surveys compiled by a Democratic firm called Blue Rose Research. Journal actually viewed these polls. They show Biden losing not only in all the swing states, also behind and you know the ritings on the wall for Biden when you can say this also behind in New Hampshire, Minnesota, New Mexico, Virginia,
and Maine. In New Jersey, of all places, go ahead, find a bloor state New Jersey. Well, maybe New York, California. But it's right up there now, isn't it. It shows Biden leading Trump by only two point nine percentage points in New Jersey of all places, which I suppose is probably within the margin of error. That's got them freaked out. Folks believe the election was stolen in twenty twenty. You know it was a close race, wasn't it. Ignoring whether or not it was stolen, of
course, the conspiracy theories are rolling around out there. They're pushing here's one. They're pushing Biden out strongly, and they wont him out this weekend, so they can sub out somebody who may present a plausible scenario for beating Trump. It's looking like Kamala Harris. In other words, you and I and the rest of the American people have seen so many polls showing Donald Trump so far ahead of Biden that they can't steal their way to victory without drawing the
ire and the attention of the American people generally. What are you kidding me? There's no blanking way Biden could have won this. Not a single poll taken by any type of polster from the far left of the far right showed he had a chance. In hell, you're not gonna dupe us. That's
this rumor swirling around. So with that in mind, you got to get rid of Biden, who's the drag on the ticket, in the hopes that somebody else between now and what the convention, the virtual nomination, the actual convention, whatever, somebody else steps in who polls better than Joe Biden gets them closer to that sort of fifty to fifty split there, so when they
steal the election, they may be able to get away with it. Now, I don't necessarily subscribe to that, but if you believe that elections can be stolen and you believe that that may have been what happened last time. All of that makes sense what I just said and what I've read online. Anyway, half of the voters and fifty two percent of swing voters that the
Democrats have been lying about the president's mental fitness. That also polled, and it doesn't poll well for the Democrats, and it doesn't pull well for Kamala Harris, which is a great point. If Kamala Harris, who obviously is vice president, is most likely to get the nod, if Biden does in fact relinquish his votes, then we all the Republicans generally speaking, are going to be going at Harris because who other than Harris was close to Biden or
more closer rather to Biden. Harris is around him all the time. You know, she's in the same building with him a lot, She runs into them a lot, they do a lot of events together. She would know almost more than anybody except for those in Biden's inner circle, that he is cognitively impaired and has been Thanks for being honest with the American people, Kamala, we expect you to be honest now as you're running for president. I
think you get some traction making that point. So anyway, the numbers are piling up on the Democrats actually coming out and saying, hey, it's time to leave. Yesterday, Representative Jim Costa, a California Democrat, quote, for the good of the country, I think it is time for the president to pass the torch to the next generation to carry on the legacy he started. And well, I appreciate his commitment to public service in our country.
I believe President Biden should not seek reelection to another term. Close quote you lost Tester as well, or Adam Smith as well, and Tester anyway, lose the track of all the numbers that are bracking up. So this week and according to Axios it's this weekend widely circulated report starting in Axious that at least by Sunday he'll bow out. I got my popcorn out on that one. Geez, execute somebody overs a little bit of money away, thank you, Joe Strecker. John Carter sentenced to the maximum possible sentence of only three years in jail for the twenty eleven death of Caitlin Markham Court to
judge announcement yesterday. Judge accepted a plea deal before the trial started that reduced his charges, including two counts of murder, to a single man a misdemeanor kind of involuntary manslaughter. Until then, the thirty five year old had been maintaining his innocence and Markham's disappearance since the beginning, as well as her death.
Once her remains were found nearly two years later. Carter court, to the Butler County Prosecutor Mike Moser, only pleaded guilty in voluntary manslaughter to avoid a potential harsher punishment if the cage went the trial. Of course, the testimony and comments from his father and sister a little heartwarming there. Judge Daniel
Howley called Carter's decision to plead guilty calculated. Judge said, ultimately there was a plead deal, and there was some degree of responsibility that was accepted by the defendant, but it was calculated lack of any true explanation through the body of the pre sentenced investigation. Otherwise, the court finds it disingenuous to believe that there could be genuine remorse with that acknowledgment of what took place. Anyway,
three years seems short for ending someone's life, doesn't it. Five thirty five fifty five Krcity Talk Station. What an amazing stack of stupid, Joe. Judge Katherine Derker disagreed, citing the volatility demonstrated by the facts of the case as a reason for denying him bond. I'm thinking we move over from fully to half naked.

This is from the BBC man spotted half naked in the bushes, according to police, would get deliberate penalties so we could get into the penalty box all by himself and danged if he wouldn't. Determined that the man had been kayaking when it capsized and it became stranded. The Coast Guard did not mention why it was naked, but he was taken back
to shore to ems because he's he's that hockey player from Slapshot Joe. That's why he was naked. He didn't have to go to the penalty box. He'd just got this kayak. There's no flag for us at least. Stick around for six thirty Tech Friday with Dave Hatt. We'll find out what's going on in this currently unfolding global computer outage brought about by the CrowdStrike and apparently Microsoft operating system failures. It's impacting businesses globally, including airlines that at six
point thirty got more to talk about between now and then. I hope you can stick he out, feel free to call history streak as it happens. Never before has an election mattered so much. Minutes away at the top of the hour, fifty five KRC the talk station getting quality employees for the frety five Cars Morning Show. Breon Morella, former Fox News NEWSMAC Local News MLB
producers, also spent several years reporting on the issues that matter most. And after Fox reading to put her on unpaid leave for not getting the COVID shot, she said the hell with it, left corporate media and went on her own, and she's doing a great job. She is a truth seeker. She amplifies her findings through her podcast, which you can find online. Go to Brionnmarrello dot com. There she is right there. I'm looking at the
web page. Welcome back to the fifty five Carsy Morning Show. I've from the r n c Brianna Morell. It's good to have you back on. It's great to be honest you thank you so much, my pleasure. So the mood of the air from all accounts. We've got several local folks, one Claremont County commissioner who's been reporting from the floor. We have a former
trustee who's been there all week reporting live. I heard from Congressman Davidson about the event THEES just the other day, and now I to hear from you. Is the air as filled with energy as it sounds and appears to be by all accounts, Brianna, Yeah, it does. You know, it feels like, you know, the Super Bowl. Honestly, it really does. The R and C's done a great job first off, which is organizing this and planning everything out. It has been incredible. Everyone is extremely excited.
You know, we're heading into November, and obviously we do have the upper hand as Republicans right now because Democrats are in a debacle and it's entertaining to just keep watching at this point because it rarely does happen where they're so openly divided. But it has been incredible. I have to say, I have never experienced anything like this, like you decided. I've worked in sports, I've worked in media for years. This seems to be just a completely
different experience. Everyone is excited. Obviously, the event took place last week and we're absolutely devastating, but there seems to be kind of like this inspirational feeling in the air right now. President Trump showing up and showing out. I mean, just his energy and he steps into the arena is absolutely incredible. He is just he has the people with him, and that's really what's
important here. You know, everyone is with him. And it was incredible to see even his granddaughter speaking and speaking about the man that she knows and the man who the media portrayed is not true. It's just it's incredible to witness. I have to say, well, i'd have to see a lot of that energy. You started off by pointing out how the Democrats are in a state of disarray, and I think that's a gross understatement. I mean, they are just losing their collective minds. But it's for two reasons.
First off, I think a lot of the energy that there RNC is coming from the fact that they are falling apart. They have no backbench. Joe Biden struggling to even be the nominee in the face of the more and more Democrats that come forward and tell them, dude, you've got to step down for the good of the country. But more fundamentally, more fundamentally, on every single policy point that you can come up with, the Republicans are on
the right side of the ledger. I mean, DEI sucks. Nobody likes that it hasn't worked out all the country or the companies across the country are throwing it out because it's terrible for morale, it's terrible for their business model. We have the more and more accounts of the army incorporating DEI and blame being laid at the foot of DEI for the numbers of recruits going into the
toilet. We've got failed criminal justice systems. We have the liberal policies destroying these blue cities and states that become sanctuary cities and states while they drop efforts to prosecute people for crimes, crimes running rampant, the streets are a mess. That's a loser for them. The border itself is a loser. The immigrants are overwhelming our system. They're taking away resources from citizens. That's a loser. What could they even possibly run on if they had a candidate that
knew what day it was Brianna fear monitoring. I mean, that's what you're
seeing play out right now, the fear monger right democracy. Yeah, and they and they continue to push the abortion issue even though I mean Republicans understand right now, is at the time to discuss it, because again, although it's controversial for conservatives, obviously we want to push it, we have to win over those in the middle, and so you have to do so properly, just by by you know, just kind of heating the line a little
bit and not going into that. But that's what Democrats are trying to push that. But you can't even that's an easy one, and I keep putting it out. On a federal level, the Supreme Court has said the Constitution does not have anything by way of language or authority in the federal government to them to have any say in it. It's everybody at the convention should be going, no, don't even talk about abortion, because this is a federal
election. We're here for, not a state election. Go back and talk to your local representatives and state senators about that one, because on a federal level, that is over as a topic. Period. Yeah, and that's exactly the point. You know, President Trump already said too, this is
a state issue, this isn't a federal issue. And so it's really all Democrats have to run on right now because most Americans, regardless of your party affiliation, could feel the financial burden that we've had to endure the President Joe Biden, and that really is just the reality that we're all kind of working with right now. You know, Americans are well aware they were better off
under President Trump than they are right now under Joe Biden. And it's pretty impressive though, because when you compare the fact that, you know, we just saw Joe Biden get taken out by COVID, pulled off a campaign trail with COVID nineteen, which is obviously a cold, a head cold at this point, right and then we saw President Trump take a bullet to the head and instantly pop back up and telling American people to fight. I don't think
they have a chance. We just saw one of the most egreigious, pariser sick events take place in front of our own eyes last weekend YEA, and Americans now have to make a decision. Do you go with someone who's weak and can't even battle a cold, or do you go with somebody who just took a bullet to the head and bounce our back up. I think it's pretty obvious what's going on, and I think the American people are just fed
up. I mean, how many more times are we going to continue to watch, you know, Joe, body make excuse up their excuse, utter excuse. Everyone sees it for what it's what it is right now, and I think we're all ready to you know, push back and kind of and take November. But everyone needs to show up and they can't take this for granted, of course, no question about it. Let us underscore that, folks. I know my listeners are as excited as you sound like you are.
Everybody at the convention's excited. It does look like it is really firmly going in Trump's direction. But don't count your chickens before their hatch. Get out and vote and make sure you vote all those down ballot races that are so important. That's the other thing that the Democrats are starting to fall apart because they see the presidential races having a profound potential impact on the House in the Senate, and they're afraid they're going to lose both. Yeah, yeah,
I mean it's quite possible. You know, if Republicans do what they should do, and sometimes it doesn't always happen, but they do what they should do, they should be able to take both. I really don't see a reason why they can. Yeah, we were thinking that in twenty twenty two with a red wave that didn't happen, But you know again, yeah, that's why we need to keep focus on the big picture moving in. What was your reaction to jd. Vance as the selection by Trump as the
vice presidential running mate. Yeah, so I think that is the four that he was a member of the final round of it, these picks, I think he was the best out of the four. You know. My feeling for it has always been that President Trump ney to selects somebody who the deep state will fear more than him, because we all know that they're coming after him. Yeah, and they need to know the next man in line. It is going to be even worse, and I feel like that should have
always been kind of the way. So I don't know if jd. Vance has that kind of fear factor. I know those in the left are saying he does, but that's more fear mongering than anything. I think he's a good person. I think that his speech went well yesterday, sorry, two days ago, his VP speech so well, you know, we'll see how
it plays out. I think he'll destroy Kamala Harris in a debate. I also appreciate the Trump camp hunting out that press release the other day in regard to you Kamala Harris saying that she's ready to debate him, but we all know Joe Biden is not going to be the final person on the ticket, and so you know, the campaign tooking some fun at Dene and saying, you know, you picked who your VP is going to be first, and
then we'll talk about this debate. I think that was pretty laughable, but it just shows the battle right now that's going on on the left, and so I think that's that's worth discussing at this point. It's trending down twenty percent this morning because well, they globally screwed

He just sent me in a Facebook instant message saying, well, three and a half hour delay out of his flight for his flight out of Oklahoma City. And it's not the only airport around the globe. Airports have been shut down. This software outage has really, really had a real problem.
FAA confirmed multiple airline companies have grounded all flights due to communications errors. CrowdStrike representative sent a message that we're aware of widespread issues causing BSoD errors on Windows machines across various sensors sensor versions that will be your blue screen of death.

And exercise patients resolving the problem may take time, company working on a solution and over release updates as soon as they become available, and that may have since happened. But these nationwide outages in all multiple countries. You've got South Korea, France, Australia, I mean from around the globe. The reporting outlets of banks, supermarkets, media companies. Putting them offline appears to be affecting Windows PC's worldwide. You're stuck in the blue screen of death or recovery loop. You can try to attempt to remedy the problem by boot to safe mode and says then you've got to rename your CrowdStrike folder and then reboot your PC again. I'm sure Dave Hatter will go
through the details on that. But you know, reliance on one form of software, you can see one thing goes wrong and the world starts to shut down pretty dramatically, Okay, I mean, you know, it's a great de list to just thinking what it's like y two K. Welcome back, Man, a great time to have you on, in perfect opportunity to deal with a real time going on right now situation, the global outage apparently caused by a crowd Strike software upgrade. Welcome back, Dave. It's good to have you back on in perfect timing. Yeah, always good to be here. Brian. It's kind of interesting because I woke up this morning and I noticed that I had a whole bunch of
text messages that unusual at you know, six o'clock in the morning. And when I started looking, I'm like, huh, it's a whole bunch of media people. I wonder what's going on. So that I go look, I'm like, this is not good at all. So now we'll tell Let's start with what the hell is CrowdStrike, and then you can explain to my listeners what's going on right now. So, CrowdStrike is a company that makes security software. They're one of the major players out there, other big players.
So you know, keep in mind you have people like micro who deliver their own security solutions, but some people don't like them. And you know, admittedly, for a long time, Microsoft was way behind the people who specialized in that sort of thing. So there's a lot of different players in this game. Names that people would know would be things like Norton or McAfee.
Right, they've been around for a long time in this space making what in the old days would have traditionally been called antivirus software that has expanded substantially over the years in terms of its capability. It does more than that, but those are probably the two most common names the average persons would know, maybe Trend, micro Bitdefender of ass. There's many players in this space, but in sort of the high end enterprise space. Honestly, the sort of
solutions we generally would try to deliver to our customers. You've got players like Crowdstrikes something to one is probably one of their biggest competitors, and many companies will deploy this type of software either instead of or in addition to the native solutions that Microsoft has on Windows. Right, so you're running Windows on your system, you think that the Windows we'll call it virus or anti hacking software,
whatever isn't good enough, you install CrowdStrike after selecting from among the various large market vendors. You install it, and then you find out they do an upgrade on it, and the whole system crashes and shows you the Blue
Screen of Death. Yeah, Blue Screen of Death has always been a funny name because anyone that's ever gotten it, so you know you're running Windows, it shuts down for whatever reason, then gives you some cryptic error message, and you know, in most cases when that happens, you just reboot and
go on about your way. And sometimes you'll get into the doom loop where you can't get out of the Blue Screen of Death, which you know obviously is a real problem on that machine, because at minimum you're going to have some downtime while you try to unwind whatever's causing that, and a worst case scenario, you may have to reimage the machine, and if you don't have a backup for whatever's on it, that can be pretty problematic. From what
I can tell, they did an update. Now, you know, the news is still pouring out on this, and as I understand it, it sounds like most, if not all crowds strike. Customers around the world are currently experiencing outages. Yeah, this is bangs. These are broadcasting companies, airlines, airports. I mean it, it's just across multiple important industries.
Yeah. Well, and I guess the first thing I think this illustrates, Brian is as I have said on your show many many times over the last ten years, and i'd say to people all the time, and people I think just will not take it seriously. This demonstrates how dependent we are now on digital technology and software in particular because you know, as a recovering software engineer, my old joke would always be, well, you know, hardware
computers are just expensive heaters. Without software, they don't really do much, you know. And as our entire society becomes increasingly digital and increasingly relies on software, whether it's the computer on your desktop, the servers that make Amazon work, the software and you're smart TV, it's everywhere now. We rely on it to bank, we rely on it to work, to educate ourselves,
entertain ourselves. You know, this is a lot more than Okay, I installed some software and it went bad and I lost all my family photos. You've got outages across the world at this point, so I hope what comes out of this. Well, first off, I hope the CrowdStrike is able to quickly fix this. One of the things that I think is going
to be interesting and I'm really concerned about. Without having any specific detail, I'm trying to look into what CrowdStrike themselves are saying about this on their site. Now is okay when you install? And again, I'm just going to loosely call this anti virus because I think most people more or less knows what that means. You know, it operates at a very low level inside your computer because it has to figure out all the different ways bad guys might attack
it. So you know, typically if you have something like an antivirus system or package go bad, it can be hard to work around that. And unless you have some sort of remote management and monitoring tools, if the machine won't boot, I'm not sure how you're going to apply or apply a patch to it. Oh, because if this truly is CrowdStrike related, CrowdStrike fixes their software. If my computer won't boot, yeah, how can I am
going to apply the update? Wah wah, wah wah. And you said, and I think the qualification came from the fact that it may have been an outside hacking job. You said, if it came from CrowdStrike, meaning CrowdStrike fixes it on its end because of its mistake doing this upgrade. But if it's some outside entity that ruined the crowd strike operating mechanism or however it works, then they got a broader problem on your hands, don't you.
Well yeah, because I mean, I'm hope hopefully, Brian, this is not some sort of supply chain attack, So you may recall CrowdStrike, right, I'm sorry, not CrowdStrike, Solar Winds. The Solar Winds supply chain attack, and many agencies and experts have been worrying about supply chain for a long time. I know we won't have time in this yet, we're pretty
much out, but go ahead. Well, So, bottom line is, if you're a software vendor and I can break into you, I can potentially deploy backdoors into that software that roll out to your customers, or I can potentially plan some kind of logic bomb in it, so when it rolls out to your customers, it causes the exact sort of problem we're seeing here. I'm not saying that's the case. I'm just saying it's a strong possibility. So if this is hopefully just an innocent error they made, you know,
that's one thing. But if let's say the PRC got in the crowd strike software and did this on purpose, well that's going to be much more difficult to fix. And if you don't get to the root cause you know, it's going to be even more problematic because it could happen again. So now I know it is already impacted my I mean, my list one of my listeners has already had his flight to late three and a half hours in this country. So we've got that going on. That's a global issue right there.
Let's pause. We'll bring Day back and find out about why this city fort right updated its website to go with the dot gov and four hundred thousand dollars to erase data. So saith a hacker six thirty seven. Right now, Foreign exchange gets your imported car traditionally Asian or European manufacturers, you know who I'm talking about, the Audi's and the Beamers and the Porsches and the

All of the manufacturers get your car fixed for less money, but you'll leave with a full warranty on both parts and service. That foreign exchange is all about keeping you with extra money compared to the dealer. The a SC sort of my master technicians will fix your car. You do leave with the full warrants. X form the letter X dot com. Tell Austin and the team. Brian said, Hi, give m a call five one, three, six, four four, twenty six, twenty six fifty five KRC STE think about KNSCD talk station in Ape Friday tech Ford to me, Dave Hatter, moving over to away from the CrowdStrike global problem in the outages face with that, what about the city of Fort Right, why do they update their website to a dot gov Yeah, Brian, this is kind of an interesting story because top
level domains are dot com, dot net, that sort of thing. So when you think of a domain name, when you think of accessing the web, you know, fifty five krc dot com. For years, we had fort Wright dot com because that domain was registered way back in the late nineties. And you know, there were only a few top level domains. Then some organizations, some governments have like dot word or something like that. They're all over the map, especially if they've been around for a long time with
some sort of Internet presence. SISA, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, a few years ago, took over the dot gov domain. So now, and this is one of the main reasons for the switch, now you cannot register a dot gov domain until you prove your identity to them. In the
old days, you know, you could register various domains. About the only domain it would be hard to register something then back way back in the day would be dot mill because it was used pretty much exclusively for the military. Right. By them taking that over and putting that additional barrier in there, it makes it much harder for a bad actor to create a lookalike website or a doppelganger type domain. Let's say I want to register Fort Wright, but
I want to replace the I with a one or something like that. You know, we see this all the time. They owe and fort with a zero because they know that to the naked eye, that's going to be hard to see and people don't pay that much attention. So if they wanted to register that with a dot gov extension, they would literally have to go through a process where they verify their their authority and legitimacy to register that domain.
Do that makes sense? That makes perfect sense. Question will they do a like cleaning up the voter rolls review, go backwards and find out if everybody who's got one of these is legitimate. I think that's in the process, but I'm not entirely sure. They say they've had control of this for a
couple of years and have recently started reaching out. And the reason why I wanted to talk about this today not so much to promote fort right, but realistically speaking, you know, I hope all your listeners out there will look into this and realize that they should be reaching out to their local officials and making the switch. Now, our dot com domain still works, but we're
going to sort of wean ourselves off of it over time. The idea here though, because it's it's really a two part it's a make this switch which went very smoothly for us, frankly, and you can email me now at dhatter at fort right ky dot gov instead of the old dhatter at fort right dot com. It basically it's the process is free. It costs you nothing to get the dot gov domain. You just have to go through the formal process. You know, you might experience some nominal labor costs because someone will
have to make the switch. And then it's an educational process because yes, someone could still spoof us. This is not foolproof. It doesn't you know, raise the bar through the sky. But as people, if every government would do this and people realize, wait a minute, I got an email from my local government agency telling me I have overdo taxes or whatever whatever it is. If it did not come from a dot gov domain, you can
guarantee it's fake. Now just because it did doesn't mean they haven't spoofed it somehow. But if it didn't, you can absolutely positively guarantee it's fake. Does that make sense? That's to me so so hopefully I'm trying to raise awareness about this because again, the process is easy, it's free from the beginning the dot gov domain perspective, and if every local government will do this and put out some education and raise awareness about this, it would make us
all a lot more secure for very little effort. So it's a good thing. I'm glad they did this, and you know, I'm just trying to raise awareness so that other people will reach out and get this done. You've done that, which is good, which is what you and interest it do all the time. One more with Dave Hatter. Apparently the price for erasing data four hundred thousand dollars as a hacker regarding AT and T data. We
get to that one neck. Men if you're a submer six fifty ifif you have a fair CD talk station, Happy Friday the retired military badassy regarding the sniper shooting coming up after the top of the Our News with Bob Guitarre, our well friend of the show and a friend of listener lunch of course, friend of the community. The meantime, we've got Dave Hatter from intest I ontoing our Tech Friday and we have a hacker claiming you got
paid four hundred thousand dollars to RaSE sensitive data. Who made the payment? Yeah, this is uh, this is an interesting, interesting story, Brian, because first off, you know, it's one thing if you have a ransomware attack, your data is encrypted and the hackers say, okay, we want you to pay us x amount of dollars in order to decrypt this data so your systems will run again. Right, happens every day once you already
have my data, and then you say now so again. In this case, this appears that you know they had data stolen, and it's at and t you question you know this. This has been another major breach that's been in the news quite a bit as of late because a large amount of data was stolen. Then even if you're not an AT and T customer. If you were called by an ATT customer or texted by an AT and T customer during that period of time, your data is in this breach. But apparently
the data was stolen from a third party platform called Snowflake. At and T was using this for some sort of data analysis or something. And apparently AT and T, this is what the reports say, AT and T paid four hundred thousand dollars to have hackers erase the data. Well, again, you would trip my data, shut my systems down. I might pay you the ransom because it's the only way I can make my systems run again. In this case, they just stole this data from the third party. They didn't
encrypt anything, they didn't shut anything down. How in the heck would I trust them to erase the data no matter what I paid. It's it's like it's like even a copy of the photograph from back in the old days. Do you have the negative? Let me have the negative? Right? Yeah? I mean I think back to those show like you know, rock Profiles or something. Well, I've got I've got drops ready, so if anything bad happens to me, you know, the mails will go out from somewhere
else. Yeah, my attorney's got a letter. He's got instructions to send it or to open it if anything happens to me. Yeah, multiple copies. So the breach or the hack itself is pretty significant because even though at based on the data that AT and T has released so far, they use the term quote unquote all customers for about a two week period of time, so you're talking one hundred million customers roughly two point five million business customers per
their stats. And if you want to see the latest on this, you can go to at T dot com slash data. I can't think of what a less. They've got a link set up where you can read the latest. But bottom line is they don't have per AT and T the content of the calls or the text, but they know how many people, how many calls you made to a certain person during that time. And when people say, well so what okay, I can look up phone numbers through public sources
and figure out who they belong to. I can figure out that a certain phone number might be your bank, for example. So now when I text you or I call you from that number, it's probably going to show up in your contact list. You're gonna recognize it. You're going to answer the call, maybe you're gonna see the text came from USAA or Fifth Third or whatever. The whole point being it creates an air of authenticity and legitimacy, and especially if they want to target people, right, they can figure out
who you are because they can look your number up from public sources. They can figure out who you called or who's calling you. And again, this isn't like one person sitting there with billions of records of data doing is they're writing programs to manipulate all this data and figure this out and then use it for targeted attacks on people. You know, one of those numbers might be the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office. So now you get a call or you get
a text peers to come from the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office. Could I go to the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office and find a real deputy's name on their website? Yes I can. Can I impersonate that deputy and tell you you need to do some sort of thing. Yes I can, And it's gonna seem much more realistic because it came from a number that you know. Does that make sense it makes perfect sense, and a part of me wants to think I would just ignore all of it because that's but that's the mode I'm in,
Dave. I mean, after talking with you so many times, you know, I always point out I never ever ever answer the phone. If I don't recognize a number, and I recognize a number, I'm still I'm still under a cloud of suspicion when I pick it up, even if I recognize it, because of everything you've said. Well, and that's unfortunately, Brian, that's the right attitude to take exadly. Yeah, because at this point, because of these kinds of breaches that keep happening, you know,
well, again, I like you, I don't answer call. I don't know fortunately for me, and I look at like I did the tax IF with I r S, with the FBI, with law enforcement, all the the real red flag warning. I'm concerned because they could you know, engage in corporate seeings or you know, harm me in some way, shape or form. I'm going to ignore anything I get from from any of those agencies or entities because I don't have any involvement with them, and I've been paying
my taxes now religiously and regularly every year since I earned a salary. So I have nothing to worry about in the sense that you know you always say, well, even if you think you have nothing to worry about, but see that I have nothing to worry about in my life relative to law enforcement or taxes of these important agencies. I know that, ergo, I'm going to conclude that this is a lie, that this is contrived, that what they're telling me is just not true, and ignore it. They won't come
and see me. They know where I live, right, I know we're almost out of time, and I agree with everything you said. But real quick story. So recently it got a loan for a car and there were some problems with the loan documents. We had to go through the process again. And I can tell you when the car dealership called me, and this will be a perfect example. They see these numbers, I get a call from the dealership. Apparently, you know, they could have hacked into their
systems. I don't know, but I got to tell you I was unbelievable, sceptable. I'm like, yeah, right, I'll I'll get back in touch with you. And then you know, I went back, looked up numbers, called people I knew there from numbers that I had previously spoken to them on before. Right, I said, hey, I got this thing. I'm not buying it. You're going to have to prove to me this is real before I sign any kind of new documents or send you anything.
But right, And it worked out it was legit. But you, yeah, you proved it was. You went through the extra step to prove that you could do it with confidence. So and that's what the point is, Dave had or interest it dot com. Thank you and your company for sponsoring the segment every week and enlightening us on these so important topics. listener, lunch. I appreciate you and I have gone to the range together. You've given me some lessons, and you have an interesting and professional perspective on what happened last Saturday involving this attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Good to have you here. Thank you, Brian, I appreciate it, and thanks for letting me pontificate a little bit about what we heard and saw. Well, let's hit the ground running here. I know you do not represent the
Administration Department of Homeland Security the DoD. You're not speaking on behalf of US Secret Service. You are speaking though, from your decades of experience involving snipers and the preparation for it, like an event like this, or for dealing for it, dealing with it in combat military situations. Correct. I started shooting in nineteen seventy seven in the military and the Army as a snipe trained
sniper and then a sniper instructor. I was actually trained by the Marine Corps, so I have an eighty five to forty one mos or military Occupational Specialty from the US Marine Corps as a sniper. And then we started the Infantry Sniper School at Fort Benning and then I continued shooting my entire life and still to this day. The Infantry Sniper school that I'm going to be going to in September, well, no, that's the Navy Seal Sniper School, and
that even better. You know, all those guys are the true bad a people and it's an honor and a privilege to be in there in their locale. Well, I am so looking forward to that event any and I'll be taking a day off of work this September for that reason alone, and of course it's well worth using vacation days for that'd be like my it's like bucket list item. Anyway, let's talk about the advanced site visit there. We've
learned a lot over the past week about preparation before the event. They get in there early, they look at everything, and what's your perception of how things unfolded versus what would normally happen if in oppress. Well, well, first of all, former presidents get a smaller protective footprint than you know, the president, the vice president, you know, the you know, Speaker
of the House, no sense. But the interesting thing is because and we only found out after the fact, the Iran potential that former President Trump was augmented with a second counter sniper team, which was the ones who actually engaged the shooter on the rooftop. But doesn't that alert so everyone knew ahead of time that the Iranians were planning on killing and that's why they gave him an
additional detail you said, attributed to the death of this murder. If they had not been there, we can all just guess what might have happened. But doesn't that make it worse from an evaluation of the secret service perspective? They had this advanced warning and yet look at what happened, And look at where this kid was able to go, Look where he was perched. I mean, on and on and on. It makes it just that much more of a failure, doesn't it. Well, there's a you know, and
I'm not here to disparage the Secret Service. I'll say that they were doing they were doing what they were trained to do, and they're and they're extremely highly trained. However, a couple things to think about the building, the AGR that Glass Industries building actually had the Butler County Swat snipers in the building inside. So if I am looking at the building and I see what may be a uniformed person climbing on top of the roof, I might think it's
one of the Sheriff's deputies overlooking the site. You might, but I would want to verify that, and the communication becomes key. That's yeah, because that's what we were all screaming about when we were in a period of speculation. Now the police officer who climbed onto the roof may now be a hero for having distracted this kid enough that he was errant with his shot, which I know we're going to talk about. So everyone is attributing him to being
a coward. But in my I was just asking out loud, well, if he saw the kid, he was unable to take care of him himself, isn't he on the Comm's device screaming at the Secret Service. There's an armed punk on top of the roof and that person was a purchase of interest for at least couple of hours. Y yeah, for at least a period of time, and then we got found thee finder kid. He's on top
of the roof with a gun. Oh right, right now. Counter Sniper Team one, which is the one that everyone saw and the pictures that are on with the one person kneeling and the one person laying down, was not the the sniper team that engage them. It was the second sniper team, the one that was augmented just at this rally, who actually had line of
sight on the roof and engage the shooter. The first ones if you see them flinch when we watched the video, what they're what they're doing is they thought they were receiving fire because they were hearing the super supersonic cracks of the rounds being fired. They they did not have line side. All they could see was the top of a head and they could not see the weapon, so they could not engage. You know, somebody on a roof who has
a head and they can't see any threat. They're local. Should they have been perched higher up or shouldn't that have been dealt with? And I right, they did have line side, but it was it was still a tough shot, and they had a different type of equipment and they did a fantastic job of doing that. But again, that entire building was the site of the Butler County Sheriff's swat team. Now, remember the leading local law enforcement
was Pennsylvania State Police. So we think, I think, and I don't know yet, we'll find this out, is that the Pennsylvania State Police were the lead agency in comm with the Secret Service, and the Butlers were not the third. They were maybe a subordinate of the Pennsylvania State Police. And so we had a little miscommunication there, and then the controversy of what was
in that building makes them hesitate a little bit. Well, once the shooting started, then things started happening, and the pre work, the highest point in there was the water tower. And now you're just starting to hear a little bit about the water tower, and todays I woke up today. It was the first day anybody who's been mentioning the water tower. I never even
noticed that. I've seen so many photographs of the fairgrounds there. Always the focus has been on that AGR building because that's where he took the squeeze around off and that that water tower's big as life. And you did the measurements on this, that's like three hundred yards out correct, Yeah, and it was just one hundred and fifty to to the top of that the top of
the roof of AGR. That was a one floor with the roof, and apparently Butler County Sheriff's Department was set up in the second floor of the adjacent building. That would be higher than that roof, Yes, it would. Could they not look down, Well, there's a wonderful question. Could they not have looked down? Or they might have thought that was one of their guys, or they there's a lot of there's a lot of controversy in all the what ifs, the whole might have thought it was one of their guys.
Things I just don't buy into, simply because of what I would perceive to be a high level of communication. Secret Service has got the lead on this. They're assigning different law enforce spin agencies to handle the outer perimeter. They've got the inner perimeter. They're gonna know ahead of time where the legitimate law enforcement snipers or people are at any given time. I would imagine, so if they if they aren't assigning someone to the top of the building because
the slope is just a little too much. Bob, Yeah, it's including the two sniper teams on a slope more slope roof than that building. That's it. I can't believe she actually said that out loud, But in any event that there's no one supposed to be up there that without like, you know, a police officer radioing in because Okay, I'm an officer, I'm going to go up on top of the building. I'm gonna call them and let them know I'm going up there. So absent someone you know saying it's
one of our guys on comms, don't shoot him. He's supposed to be up there. What I'm seeing in my head if i'm Secret Service, like that's a bad guy. We gotta we gotta deal with them. You got shot with Ak's right, You've got the bullet bullet wounds to prove it. Yes, So you mean the experience of getting shot does not sound like it would be fun? No, it does not. Yeah, right, all right, I just had to put the emphasis on that he does have two pur purple hearts among his multitude of
decorations. All right. I would have tried to dispel the whole conspiracy theory idea if this was an inside job, as so many people are are are opining online. We all know what opinions are like, and that's im Meedi can cleue you. We see all of this failure. But if it was an inside job, the only thing I could come up with. By way of explanation would be that if they knew this kid was going to try this, and and then they just intentionally were negligent with the setup and the prep
and the follow through, just hoping that it might work out. If they wanted Trump dead right now, that shows failure on even a higher level to me. So if they really wanted the job done, somebody more accomplished at
shooting. And that's why I wanted to move over to because you have a theory on how it ended up how Donald Trump got It ended up hitting in the ear, sure, And it's really very simple if he was if the round was heading towards the center of his head and he turned his head left or right, it pivots on the center of your head, you know, the first and second cervical vertebrae, the atlanto axial joint. It doesn't matter.
He would have been hitting the center of the head. The problem was with the interruption by the person who climbed with two hands trying to get on the roof because he didn't know that there was a ladder somewhere, and when
he had a weapon pointed at him, immediately fell off off. And from what I understand it was a Butler County Sheriff's deputy and there was a Secret Service agent underneath him as the bottom half of the ladder lifting him up onto the or trying to lift him up onto the roof when he immediately got into his prone position. A combination of a hastily pulled shot with a quick trigger finger right hand shooter pulling the right trigger finger. If he jerks the trigger,
the gun will move to the left and moved down. The other thing is, if anyone has ever hunted or heard the term buck fever, the idea of taking that shot. You're adrenaline is pumping and you pull the trigger too quickly, so the round, instead of going in the center of President Trump's head, went to the left of him, which was towards the right ear and down and was only about a centimeter or so from entering his brain. Had his head been turned to the left and he was looking at the
crowd, he still would have been hit. And a trained experience sniper wouldn't make that amateur mistake. Absolutely not so so. I mean, if it were a conspiracy, go get a go get one of those arrangers, a snack bar, you know, and they go and they go from there. So it's but and by the way, since I'm since I'm a first generation American of Spanish and Maltese descent, i am actually an Arabic person myself, so I can make fun of Arabs all day long. So nobody's making fun
of Arabs as snipers to harm you because of your beliefs. Exactly, So evil American exactly. But that that protective detail, that inner detail they did, they did justifying. We call it the law enforcement dog pile, the close protection detail. They covered them with their armored bodies, except for the female who was there, who didn't reach up to identity. That's true, I really shouldn't. But but one of that, one of the four females that was there, from what I understand, at least three of them,
if not all four, were augmentees. So if you notice, by the way, the secret Service detail in the in the iconic picture, you'll notice on their lapels they have a little little star there that's the air that's the US Marshal's symbol. What they do is they rotate the pins to quickly identify what's the pin of the day, you know, and if they're wearing you know, Air Marshals or US marshals or a flag or the d n C or something. It lets them know. That's the part of the inner circle.
If you notice the female, she's wearing a US Marshall pin, but she's got a secret Service badge on her hip, you know, the hip that has the holster. Yeah, the holster that she's doing a holster weapon. Now now, now, I do have to observe that she seemed to overweight. So let's talk about training standards and budgets and things of that nature.
But for females who who carry firearms, short waist body armor right above it, trying to holster that gun in the heat of battle, if you would, I can understand a flub, I really do, but you know, three times and then trying it again later and then getting it. Females have a different physiology. Real females have a different physiology, physiological makeup. She should have had a drop holster, but then it might have exposed it
underneath her coat jacket. So there's a lot of things that go into that. I'll give her. I'll give her a little pass, just a little bit. There's not exposure in that circumstance. With her dress and or mode of dress with the pins, nobody would mistake her for anything other than someone who is there to protect Coronald Trump or the other people there, right,
And she's an augmentee, so she was relatively new to that assignment. So remember this is not the may not be the A team it is now, but but at that time there was a whole bunch of stuff going on. If anyone saw the video from the backside and saw the spray of of hydraulic fluid, one of the rounds hit one of the cranes and its sprayed on the vehicles hydraulic fluid, so there was almost no visibility through through the windshields.
So that was kind of a bit of a challenge as they were exiting and heading to the hospital with the Remember no one knew how badly he was wounded. Oh yeah, and he could have had a heart attack. So when they body bunkered him, there was some delaying. People are saying this was incompetent. They should have got they they should have left him down, because there's usually there could have been another shooter or shooters or an ied or
something else. Sure, and the thing to remember is his and we play the odds. Historically it's a loan shooter, and in this case, it was a loan shooter. And so after they said the shooter was down, that's why they got him up, made sure he didn't have a heart attack of stroke, didn't get hit a second or third time, and then they moved him immediately to the vehicle. So him standing up and getting away from holding his fist up. And that was a bit of a challenge for a
protective detail. And I've done protective details. He the client, the protectee is in charge until the first round is fired, and then I'm in charge. So there was a little conflict there. He wanted to he wanted to continue talking, and he wanted to continue get a message out to his people that he was okay, and I agree with that. However, the secret Service detail wanted to shuffle into a vehicle. Understood, and that was their
job to do it right, stop the politician from being the politician. Anyhow, Bob get tired. God bless you. Thank you for your service for our country. It's an honor to be on a show that get so many listeners and really appreciate what you do for southwestern Ohio letting them know about what's going on in politics and Columbus. That makes it means the world to me, my friend, that you said that. But thank
you very much. And part of the program is getting folks like you in the know on the show to talk about things like the Ohio Bathroom build house Bill one in three? What is going on you here to provide my listeners with an update, So thankful for the opportunity to do that. And so, you know, it's unbelievable, Brian, that we have to have a
bill like this, isn't it? And so you know, years ago you would have never thought that we needed this, But this is continuing to be a growing problem across the state in the nation, and so we in Ohio have decided that we're going to do something about this. We're not going to continue to allow boys to go in girls' restrooms and girls to go into boys
restrooms. And you know, we heard testimony from a wide variety of people, including highly noted Riley Gaines talking about how she had to change in a locker room with this guy named Liam Thomas. And we also heard about we heard from others in Ohio that had to experience having men in their women's locker
rooms. So HOUSETI one eighty three is a bill that is it includes kindergarten through college, It includes the colleges, and it says that only boys can go in the boys restroom, only girls can go in the girl's restroom. And it includes overnight accommodations if the school is going somewhere that girls have to stay in the girl's room and boys have to stay in the boys room. And now there's nothing in the bill though that keeps people from keeps institute's educational
institutions from making a single use wanted a time kind of restroom. Sure, but this is going to really help protect our kids. And that's what this is about. The reason for this bill, Brian, is because superintendent's across the state of Ohio came to me and asked and said, we need a bill that brings clarity to this issue. And so that's that's really the origin
and the genesis of this bill. Well, I guess I'm always puzzled by this representative bird that that there is so loud what appears to be I might more properly state such a loud advocacy for allowing men to go into women's restrooms. That's got to be just a small segment of the of the entire state's population that would even advocate for something like that. I don't care where you
are on a sexuality spectrum. I think most everyone would agree you're probably much safer and more comfortable having women in the women's room and men in the men's room and just call it a day on that. Absolutely I agree with that, and so I think studies and polling have shown that this is a winning issue. It's an important issue. And no matter whether you're a Republican or a Democrat, you want your child to be safe and a restroom, yeah,
you don't want them exposed to the other genders. So I really believe that there's many Democrats out there. Even though no Democrats voted for this bill, not one, not one, and Committee not one on the floor voted for this. I still believe that most Democrats want their child protected in a restroom. Yeah, I think to me this is analogous to the idea of having school choice. I don't even see that as having a political strife.
If I'm a Democrat, if I'm a Republican, if I'm a communist or a socialist, I'm going to want to send my children to the school that I want to send them to. That is a party neutral issue, and this one should be as well. Why it is and how it is that Democrats could all wind up against something so common sense. I'm sorry, sir, It's just baffling to me. That's all I can leave it at,
is just baffling. Sure. And so the other reason for this bill, Brian, is because we are getting these rulings from courts, We're getting these guidance from the federal executive branch directing directing our schools to allow this to happen. And so I think it's it's improper for the legislative branch in the state of will Hire to sit on the sideline to center on our hands and not do anything about it. And just say, well, Okay, the executive
branch in DC made this decision, and I don't think that's right. And so that's why we get involved in say, hey, we are a coequal branch. We're going to wade into this too. We're going to you know, we're going to pass a bill that is that's going to say what we believe that the will of the Ohio people are on this issue, and we're not going to just sit on the sideline and let the executive branch and the
judicial branch make all of the rules and guidance on this. All right, as we've been saying, this is House Bill one in they three we're talking about co sponsored. Adam Bird and Beth Lee are also do you have an independent Senate bill that is analogous to this? Is our companion bill in the Senate? You know where the Senate is on this topic. Well I got even better than that that, Brian. We actually on the last day of session in June amended it into Centerville two fifteen and it passed the House.
Okay, this passed the House, and so this is going back to the Ohio State Senate for a concurrence vote. And so all we need is for our state senators to concur on the changes to their bill. We amended this into one of their bills. They have to concur and you know, we're just thrilled to death that Governor Dwayan has already stated publicly that if the Senate concurs with the changes he's going to he's going to sign this bill and we're
going to have protection for our girls and boys restrooms. That is outstanding news. And you know what for some a process to go smoothly in Columbus, Adam Byrd, that's not that's a rare occasion of late. We've got a little difficulties going on from time to time, like the you know, the
Blue twenty two issues and things of that nature. But you know what, glad to see you're looking out for the young people out there, boys and girls, and I like the idea that girls are protected from some pretty horrific things. We've all read about them happening from different states, all struggling with this issue. So let's put a fork in it. How quickly do you
think the Senate's going to act in a concurrence at him? You know, right now they've already announced that they will not have a floor date, the session floor date until after the November elections, Okay, And so that's okay, we can wait till then, and let's get it done in late November and get the governor to sign it in December, and we'll start protecting our girls real soon. And so I've heard nothing from the Senate opposing this.
I talked to the bill sponsors, Senator Andrew Brenner and Senator Serena Jerry Sereno, and they are they're good with this. They're excited that this is going to be a part of them. And so I think there's going to be a concurrence vote, and I'm you know, we're it feels good to protect kids. Yeah, and that's what this is about. Proudly representative House District sixty three. My guest today, Adam Bird, on House Bill one eighty

And I am happy as always to see Brian Ibold in studio. It's good to see you, Brian. Welcome back to talk about a really cool organization, the Help Squad, which you can find online and I really strongly encourage you to do that because we're gonna solicit your help today.
Help the Helps Squad so they can go out and help people. It's Helped Squad Sincy with a y dot com. Help squadsincey dot com. Brian Ibold, always great seeing you, brothers. Yeah, thank you forgiving us an avenue here to give the word out always too, because you know you guys, it's a great organization and they focus on. Of course, you know my area of town growing up, you got Cole Ring, Green dal
High Township, Shivy at Cleaves and Addison where. Yes, like every area of the Greater Cincinnati area and across this country, there are people out there in really really significant need. Most notably a lot of women, you know, failed relationships, they got to get out of dodge, they have an abuse of husband, they're on the lamb, they've got bills, they have no place to live. You can go on and on and on and so Brian and his wife and others you know, have this inspiration religious inspired,
it was, and that's great. Help Squad it's a five O one C three corporate Christian nonprofit organization. Their mission to share hope, compassion and grace through faith and community collaborative. They assist families and crisis with short term financial support and wrap around services for food, clothing, and shall as well as new paths for life development and strategies. Brian, it's just such a neat thing to see you do this. And how is it that you decided in
your life and what direction did you go down? And you're like, you know what, I got time, I got ability, I'm going to help other people. I'm going to dedicate my time to a Christian charitable mission. Well, I'll agree with you. I definitely had the time. The ability that's kind of up in the air. So at this points, I'm trying,
brother, believe me, I'm trying. So you know, I'm a retired police when I had twenty eight years on in law enforcement, and a lot of the times that I was in a uniform position, I would respond to radio runs where it's a domestic dispute, domestic violence, some you know, husband and wife arguing, brother and sister, however it is, and when you separated them and you spoke to them, ninety nine percent of the
time they're arguing over some sort of financial disruption in their family. You know, dad loses his job, Mom didn't pay the card payment last month to get repossessed, or they're late on their rent, they're going to get evicted, and those types of problems really cause a lot of grief in families. And then you add alcohol to it and just a bad scene all the way around. So I would show up in these houses. I'm thinking there has
to be an organization that will pay to have your car not repossessed. There just has to be that it's only a couple hundred dollars for these, you know, for a car payment. But there wasn't There wasn't anything. There's there's you can get food, clothing, shelter, you know, the basics, but there was nothing like this. So when I retired in twenty twenty, I said, we're going to create this and with the help of myself and my wife, like you mentioned, we have some really great people,
Sam Jasper. She is a unicorn when it comes to helping people. Nobody can compete with her. And we just all got together, we merged, and we've been doing a lot of good work ever since on the west side of town. Well, and let's talk about some of the work by way of illustration. I know you got some just absolutely heartbreaking but yet same time
heartwarming stories because of the help that the Help Squad provided my listeners. An illustration or two about some of the success you've had out there, yeah, I'd be more than happy. So just last week we had a lady from West Africa. Now, she did it right. I'm not trying to get
political here, but she did it right. She's a US citizen and she lives in an apartment with her three children, single mom, and her dying mother, and she was behind on rent from a few things that had popped up, and they were going to evict this woman and her mother, her sick mother and her three kids, and she needed about I think it was twelve hundred bucks for her rent were there on the street. So we came through and invested twelve hundred dollars. Now that's not a lot of money,
Brian, twelve hundred dollars to save a family? Are you kidding me? How? How is there not thousands and thousands of people behind us, you know, supporting us, rallying behind us with this. But that's the things we do, you know, And that's that was even more, you know, a little bit higher than what we normally do. You save a family for four, five, six, seven hundred dollars. Right in the past
you've mentioned just a little cash infusion like five hundred. I think I remember the story where you gave you had this opportunity to give some of this woman five hundred dollars, and that really was able to turn her life around. Five hundred dollars Brian King Floyd Lyne for want of the price of tea and a slice. The old man died. It's like for one of five hundred dollars in this this person's lifetime. You know, things could either go really
great or they could be tragic exactly. You know, we've and you know, just a couple of days ago, I helped Ah, a veteran uh from the Iraqi boy. He a veteran who they just didn't have food. He had been hurt and they didn't have food, and their electric was going off. And I always thought that they will not turn electric off or gas electric or heat and stuff like in the winter if you have kids in this Yeah, but uh, yeah they will after a while. They certainly will.
Yeah, and you've got a pretty long run up time. But if you just let it go, it's going to get turned off at play. And so we paid that and the guy end up getting a job and everything's fine. We invested I think six hundred bucks in him and his family, you know, but we can't continue to invest, you know, even five six, one thousand and two thousand, whatever it is without people getting behind us and rallying with us and supporting us. Well, that's the call to
action that I'm going to issue. This morning again the help the Help Squad. Sincey with why the Help Squad Sinsey dot com. It's easy to donate this blink right at there at the top to do it. I also suspect that you wouldn't mind volunteer help with your mission. We certainly can use volunteer help. You know, we always will accept monetary donations. We will accept even donations items that we can auction off or we can do bidden buy services.
You know, if you cut hair, if you cut grass, if any type of service that you provide, we can use that as well. There's just many ways of volunteering and it's just not money. And Brian, this isn't even just about the help Squad. You know, you can't just sit on your couch and do nothing with your life. You've got to get out there because I find it very hard that you can't have compassion without action.
And I see a lot of people saying, oh, you know, just look at that poor guy on the side of the on the corner there asking for that poor homeless guy. Somebody should do something about that. Or Hey, did you hear about the lady who lost her job. She has two kids and they're getting evicted from their apartment. Somebody should do something about that. Well, guess what, Yeah, we're doing something about it,
but you will need some serious help. Yeah. And you know it's interesting because I'm one who regularly like in the context of and again, I don't want to get political on this. We're talking about charity here, but it provides a great spring board during the run up to the passage of Obamacare. And I guess even during Hillary Care, you had men in well, clergy people, women or men in front of churches advocating for a government program because
it was going to help folks on life margins get healthcare. And I'm thinking to myself, you're abdicate at the Christian mission. The Christian mission is for the individual in the room there to do that themselves, to give of their own time and of their own money to help people on life's margins. That helps you the individual who does that. Giving the charity and participating in the charity is uplifting for the person doing this. Exactly, Christ came here to
serve, not to be served. I'm sure we've all heard it's better to give than to receive. Yeah, they just didn't say that for no reason. It really is true. It is incredibly rewarding when you can help these people. And the thing is we don't get paid. We're all volunteers. If anything, this costs me thousands of dollars a year to run this well, of course out of your own pocket, but also time has a value of money as well, and clearly you have committed an unbelievable amount of time
to this charity. Again the Help Squad Sinsey dot com Joe put a link of at you about Caresy dot com went a paus rate and will bring Brian Ibol back to talk a little bit more about the success their mission has an other ways we can help out, but we're also going to get go down a little cul de sac because I know Jim Keefer Westside. Jim wants you to talk about the sitcom that you are doing, which we'll be able to check out real soon. Here more with Brian Ibol from the Help Squad.

I'm in studio with Brian Eyebold of the Help Squad again online Thehelp Squad since you with y dot com help him out a volunteer listen. I have some money in my pocket. I
just gave it to Brian. Yeah, it wasn't that difficult to do to hand him over some money out of my pocket. It makes it so easy going to the website to do that. This is some beautiful work that they're doing. You can imagine just a small financial contribution to one of these folks living on life's margins. And the statistics are on his website. You got
a pretty substantial poverty weight. You have a very low percentage of folks with a higher level education for the area that he's serving, fifty three percenter on food assistants are economically disadvantaged in the areas of Brian and the team at the Health Squad are serving. Again, that's Cole Rain Green Dell High Shivi at Cleaves and Addison. So huge need out there and simple solutions for very complex problems. Help pay the rent, help get rid of that energy build it's
hanging over their head, help them turn their lives around. You also do referrals, don't you, Brian? Uh? Yeah, we have some wraparound services. So once we give a financial infusion to a family, we can also offer them wrap around services that connect them with different organizations or agencies that will further assist them down the road so they don't back in the same situation. We mentioned that last story that you got the guy got a job.
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, so problems just exactly. It was just that temporary time, you know, that month or so that they needed help, and then we we invested in them, we paid it, and they're they're fine. Again, if that wouldn't have happened, they wouldn't have it electric, they wouldn't have any heat and air condition and and chances are their house was going to go up for u you know, to auction. Yes, so there's a lot of things, but it was a small financial
investment in this and they're doing very well. And then we do that all the time. These people are worth the money. Yeah, the problem is we just we don't have a ton of money, but obviously, and we're only as good as the money we have in the bank. And that's why we're doing all these things. That's why I'm on the radio, that's why
we have fundraisers. And speaking of fundraisers, if I can real quick, yeah yeah, yeah, yah, yeah, well yeah, you got you got a big event coming up on Sunday, I miss, Yes, we have a huge event coming up at Crimer's Beer House. Oh yeah, it's a staple on the West it is. Indeed, they've got a huge river bar outside. It's gonna beautiful weather. We have one of the best bands in town, lunch Box, they're coming to play. We've got fun raffle
bats. It's all kinds of stuff that are good volunteers. Carrie in doors has taken so much time of their time, uh, to do this and get this organized. We're very excited and there is really Look, it's sun, it's music, it's fun, and you're helping people. What is not to like? Come on out and one to five one to five pm Crimer's Beer House this Sunday. We're gonna have a good time. Now. Do you have a link to that information on your help Squad website by any chance?
If it's not on the website, it certainly is on our Facebook page, the help Squad Facebook the help Squad, and go ahead and like them there as well. And you know, as you and I were talking off air, trying to get people to donate money, that's one thing, but if you're not able to donate money, and I'm thinking of folks who may be struggling on their own with maybe some depression. Obviously with the news of
the world, that's enough to depress me considering what I do. But you know, if you get engaged and are working with folks that you work with Brian who need this type of assistance, I think not only might you feel better about your own personal circumstance, but also you're going to get that feeling that only charitable help can give you. It's uplifting. You are truly helping somebody on life margins. You're gonna go home feeling a whole lot better about
your situation and probably meet some great people at the same time. Oh no, it's incredibly rewarding. And here's the thing. If you're a listener out there, the problem is we just have a segment of society that can help that just chooses not to. And this is a way to do it. It's easy. And here's the thing, even if you don't want to help people, just being in this type of field, you feel better yourself. Yes, you know what I mean, helping people, there's nothing better than
that, that's our calling, nothing better than That's exactly right. And then again, going back to your foundation in Christian philosophy. Therein lies the reality it's good for you to be good to other people. Amen's got to come from you personally, not through some large government program. And here we have no government involvement, just good people helping those on life's margins. Reassure my listeners before we get to the sitcom. Reassure my listeners the vetting process.
Someone just doesn't walk up and say I need five hundred dollars and you hand it over to them. Now you find out what the situation is. Oh sure. So we have an intake packet that you that you will be you'll have to fill out. It's on the website. We make it very convenient, and then once we receive your intake packet, we review that. And I'll be honest with you, not everybody can we can help. There's some
people that are there things are just so far gone we can't help. But there's others too that seem to be kind of just trying to scam the system type thing. So not everybody will get the help. But the true legitimate people that need our help and we have the money in the bank, we will help them. And I'm just real quick. The lady who I was talking about earlier from West Africa. Do you notice that she had called fifteen
other agencies for help. We are the sixteenth agency. Fifteen agencies did not return her call, shut the door in her face, did not return emails, put her on a waiting list, said we can't help. And then number sixteen, the help Squad, she gives us a call and we got it done. And the reason we got it done is one, we don't have any red tape. We don't have any that bureautic bureaucracy, you know,
red tape all over the place. If you need help and we have the money and it's legitimate, it's real simple, we get it done the help Squad. Since you with the y dot com really quickly, the sitcom Brian and even working on this locally lately. Yeah. On a side note, so when I retire from the police, you know, I've always enjoyed writing, and I wrote, actually I wrote a short film. It's on YouTube called Drunken Inheritance. I've seen it and I and it's come about a
personal story. It's kind of funny. And then you know, I was sitting around in some a little bit of free time I had, I said, you know, let's write a couple episodes of a sitcom. So we did three episodes and uh and we're getting ready to release them. It's called Typical west Siders. We have a website typic Typical Westsiders dot com and it's just for fun. It was just a kind of a goofy, goofy thing. We're not trying to make any money, no, nothing like that.
Was just fun and we got some good people involved, and it's just silly. It's kind of like a Seinfeld type goofy thing. You got west Side Jim Keifering west Side Jim's and there all three episodes. Given the name of the sitcom, that makes perfect sense. Brian ibold On behalf of all those out there that you have help and will help. Thank you for what you are doing and continue to do. And to all my listeners out there, I've been talking about every little bit helps, a little tiny bit can help
this mission be fulfilled and change people's lives for the better. So please try to help out in some way. The help Squad Sinsey with a Y dot com. Brian, thanks for what you're doing for the community and keep up the great work, my friend. I know we'll talk again real soon. Thank you, Brian. We appreciate you. Cut up. very happy Friday. Well, we heard early in the program from a former US military sniper, retired Colonel Bob Kattyre, a good friend of the show and a man who really knows all about being a sniper. And now we're going to hear about someone who actually has been there and done that in terms of the Secret Service. Gary Burns served in federal law enforcement for nearly thirty years, in the US Air Force Security Police, the uniformed vision of the
Secret Service, and most recently as a federal Air Marshal. He written two books on those subject matters, The One Crisis of Character, a White House Secret Service officer discloses his first hand experience with Hillary and Bill and how they operate, followed by in twenty seventeen, I was twenty sixteen his book Secrets of the Secret Service, The History and uncertain future of the US Secret Service. Welcome to the fifty five Kerose Morning Show, and thanks for your long
service to our country. Gary Burns pleasure having you on today. Good morning, Thank you. Well you've heard the questions. I'm sure that you've come up with some answers yourself or have your own head scratching about last Saturday. I mean to the lay person like me, although I do have knowledge and years of experience shooting both rifles and handguns, I look with in dismay that the number of places where this murderer would be assassin of Donald Trump could have
shot from. But even where he did shoot from, it doesn't look as if they Secret Service had done a well advanced plan on this. What what have you done by way of review on this and what have you determined? Where were I mean there were obvious failures at least let's see if we agree upon that. To start with, Gary, Yes, it was a complete
train wreck. I mean I give, I give a little bit of flop to the actual detail the thing, most of the things you saw take place when Trump went down, and the work, the detail, the way they acted, you know, most of that was exactly the where it was supposed to be. The pre advanced the advanced work that was supposed to be done was not the Secret Service director. This falls on her lap now like not like a lot of other people who are demanding that she resigned. I don't
wanted to resign. I wanted to stay and tell the truth for once, tell the truth of what happened. You know. One of the reasons I wrote the second book, Secrets of the Secret Service, was to to you know, let everybody know. You know ninety nine percent of what people know about the secrets of risks from TVs and movies. Right. The Secret Service in real life is a lot of great people trying to do a really hard job. But it's got all the problems of the IRS and the Postal Service.
It's this giant government entity with layers and layers and layers of management. Even if he tried to hold somebody responsible for not giving them counter sniper A coverage until the day before, you would be almost impossible to figure out who it was. Well, what did you? I mean? I guess you got to go back to the director. Many people are calling for her to step down, if for no other reason. Then she offered as an explanation for not having that roof taken care of, that the slope was too steep.
I mean, come on, now, they had snipers on roofs with steeper slopes than that our men and women in uniform have to fight in combat with slopes steps that I mean seriously, that those words actually came out of her mouth, that she is the director, and yet that was used as a as an excuse that to me, was just an admission of an epic fail. She had no answer to the questions correct. And that there's two things that she stated because of exactly who she is, and and it's a
real problem. That was one of them. And the other one was what was the first thing she said about There was the roofs, and then she said something about it'll come to me in a minute. But anyway, we're getting back to the rus. Listen, the men owned talent sniper before they even get to the point in their training to to find out that they can't qualify with the rifles, they have to do like two weeks of pete climbing
repelling these guys. You know, her statement just shows you how completely disconnected she is from what the people that she's supposed to be directing do. She had no clue whatsoever, and and it's an insult to them. And again, I don't know why she would say that. When she first said it, I thought it was I thought I was. I just didn't believe it right. Well, and again I'm looking at it from a lay person's perspective. You actually serve with the Secret Service, so you know that you have
confirmed what seems so obvious to a guy like me. It's absolutely amazing. Coupled with what we now have learned. There was that open threat from the Iranians that they discovered there was probably an assassination plot to kill former President Donald Trump, and they got that information prior to this event, days prior anyway, and that they supplemented the Secret Service agents because of that threat. So not only I mean that to me illustrates it even greater failure. You've got
a legitimate Iranian threat, your supplement resulted in this. Yeah, no, exactly. And again it goes back to some of the things I point out in the book. And you know, just for an example for your audience, by the time John Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas, Textus in nineteen sixty three, four other presidents that they had protected have been shot at and opened vehicles. Two of them were open carriages drawn by horse. What's their learning
curve. Why the hell will we were still doing open vehicle And then you fast forward to Ronald Reagan when Ronald Reagan gets shot by John Hanckley. Just a few years before Jerry Ford was shot at twice in uncontrolled crowds outside of buildings in a two week period and Ford, excuse me, fourteen day period, shot at twice by women with handguns. And again, why were they
still doing it? Uncontrolled press and uncontrolled crowds with Reagan and you know they're what they're very good is is is uh pershing blame over to other people and
just ignoring it. Another thing I point out that by the time Reagan is there's an attention assassination in Reagan. When they reviewed the Secret Services policies and they reviewed the Kennedy assassination, there were there were over twenty things that were recommended by a panel of the Seekert Service, and they still wanted to do in some of them and one of them was to control the press and you could control the crowd. So this, this is just another example of management
and competence, management and confidence, complacency, laziness. Yeah, I guess across the board, do me a favor before we part company. Again, it's fascinating conversation Gary byrne man in the know on this area Crisis, A Character and Secrets of the Secret Service, the two books that you can get
my blog page fifty five casey dot com. Just to address briefly the rumbling conspiracy theories that are out there, because you know, many people suggesting that somehow the Secret Service or the the the the dark forces inside government had something to do with this, Well they did. It demonstrates an even more epic failure. I can't believe that honestly myself. Gary, you got any comments
to address those rumblings out there? Yeah. I used the Kennedy assassination as an example sometime, with the rhetoric of you know, there was another shooter, there was this, there was that they purposely did this and did that. But the problem is is that most of what people know about the Secret Service comes from TV, to the movie, the and And I'm not solding anybody. I'm just saying that's what reality is. And so it's hard for
people to say, oh, they're incompetent, they're the Secret Service. They're not competent. They make mistakes, they're human beings. We saw it right in front of us. You know, there was some little mistakes made, but you have to realize everybody was being shot at and there's a shields adrenaline dump, which if you've never experienced that, it really messes with your body
instantly, and you know, your vision goes down to a PenPoint. You're hearing shuts off for a second, and then you have to learn to work through it. And so what we saw on Saturday was the divine in my opinion, the divine hand of God turning his head at the right second and to after that, some of the things that the agents did was textbooks. But the pre advance, the advance its locations with the local police. I mean, the guy called up on the building that the local police were inside
of their ladder to get up there on the corner from his ladders. You know, no, let me subserve that area, and nobody should come adapt the building. And all that does not fall back on the counter sniperdot that falls back on the advanced people. And again they get your true answers. Don't hold your breath. Oh so you don't think we're really going to get to the bottom of this. And the final houses carry absolutely not that's disheartening.
Goo google what happened in nineteen ninety two when Congress tried to help it reopen the JFK assassination to take a look at a couple of things. They went to the Secret Service and requested all the information on the murder case in the advanced and the Secret Service said it's been destroyed. That was it. They destroyed it, nobody was all accountable and got rid of all the logs, all the information they got, it serving to fuel the conspiracy theories that
continue to this day. Gary Byrn, it has been a distinct pleasure to have you here on the program this morning. Thank you for your service. Thanks to the books. They're outstanding books, and I'll encourage my listeners to get copies of Crisis of Character as well as Secrets of the Secret Service, which my producer the linked on my blog page fifty five care Sea dot com. Gary, thanks for the thoughtful analysis this morning. Was a real pleasure
having you on the program. My pleasure to take care you too. Coming up an eight forty one fifty five care Setalk Station late edition to the program. Always Welcome, I said just the other day I could talk to you literally every day on the program Jay Ratliffe. We talked with Dave Hatter this morning Tech Friday, this crowd strike update which has caused Microsoft systems to crash around the globe, and yes, your air airflight may be delayed this morning.
I've already heard from one of my listeners three and a half hour delay because of this crash. We're gonna hear from Jay Ratliffe coming up next. After I mentioned my friend Susette Loasa Camp. You want somebody who knows the real or the mortgage business. You want Susette Loasa Camp more than thirty five years experience. You want to get a house, you need a mortgage.
You want someone you want to work with. This is the most, probably the most stressful financial thing you're ever gonna go through, is purchasing a house. Most people, it's the biggest financial transaction they ever engage in. And that's why you want to work with someone you're gonna like and how someone's gonna get to this us as quickly and painlessly like Susette did for my daughter and a boyfriend a couple of days from the initial phone call to the financing getting
locked in place. That's all It took for them. They loved working with her. I can tell you the same thing for everybody that's worked with Susette. No junk fees, no application fees, great rates at a low cost. She's with Cross Country Mortgage, which means doesn't matter which state you're in, she can help you with financing or maybe getting some of the equity out of your home. If you think the idea of a reverse mortgage is a good one, well you go ahead and talk to her about that as well.
If it's mortgages, think Susette Low's Camp callers, she'll get right back with you, or email or first the phone number five one three three one three fifty one seventy six three one three fifty one seventy six online or to email. Fifty five KRC the Talk Station eight nine fifty About rc E Talkstation, It's important to remember it one four on D especially when
you're talking with iHeartMedia aviation expert Jay Rattleff. I always look forward to Thursdays here in the morning show because every Thursday at eight thirty we do a few segments with Jay, and it's always usually puts a smile on my face, which I think makes it worthwhile in and of itself. But he does no aviation, and he is dealing with the realities we're all dealing with. This morning, the cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike with a global outage impacting businesses from banks to
networks, radio stations, television stations, and of course naturally airports. Systems using Microsoft operating systems are crashing all around the globe. We talked this morning Jay with Dave Hatter on Tech Friday about this and he explained how this works. But CrowdStrike, basically, it's like an add on to Microsoft Windows operating systems for security reasons like the old oh god, what do they used to call them, like Norton anti virus programs. It's kind of like that so
or something. Yeah, there you go. So businesses are operating with Microsoft, they add CrowdStrike to better protect them from hackers and the like, and CrowdStrike does some kind of an upgrade this morning and systems started crashing with the blue screen of death all over the country. And it's really got an impact on aviation, Jay, Yeah, it did. In fact that single content update had impacts around the world, and I think we initially started seeing signs
of this last night with some low cost carriers. We had Frontier Legion in some country that are having issues after six o'clock, and then as we rolled into this morning, it really started impacting the major airlines around the world so much in fact that American, Delta, United all had a groundstop today and you're talking about three airlines that have between them about seventeen thousand flights a day.
And unfortunately, given the fact that right now we're still kind of a wait and see mode as we're trying to get back to operating on all cylinders, the issue is that we're giving this backlog now of passengers around the country, and when you start having flights canceled, we have thousands of flights that are being affected right now. You're talking about hundreds of thousands of passengers soon
to be a million passengers that could be impacted. Brian, There's no place to put these people, because when you have flights to cancel and every flight's ninety five percent full, where youre going to put these one hundred and fifty people. You got two seats on this flight four over there, one back here. I mean, it's going to take a while. And if you happen to be in that unfortunate situation where your flight is canceled, the agent
that you're working with is having issues, please give them options. I know one time when Sherry and I were stuck at New York Kennedy Airport, I told the American Airlines agent, get me to any airport in the state of Ohio. I'll rent a car and I'll drive home. Just get me to the state. And the whole idea here is at least the options are increased. The other thing is if you're trying to get hold of airlines, obviously getting them on the phone is going to be problematic, if not impossible,
So use the social media tools. A lot of times, I'll use Facebook. I'll send a private message to Delta Southwest whoever. I give them my six digit confirmation number, very short little email or message that says, hey, look, flight's been impacted. What options do I have? And they've got a very large number of social media workers, and many times they will respond far faster than you can get through a line at the airport or you
get somebody on the phone that's a valuable tip. I had one of my listeners got in touch with them this morning when we were talking about this. Six o'clock this morning, I got an instant message from Eric three and a half hour delay out of Oklahoma City so far. So, you know, even Oklahoma City, which I don't views a real giant airport market, but there you have it. They were shut down and the ripple effect. All
these were an interconnected flight world here right. You know, you get delays at big airports, you know, like he Throw Airport, if they shut down, then that has a ripple effect across the globe to certain degree. This is a lot of airports all around the globe. Yeah, we've got issues in Australia, Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, here in the United States. I mean, it's impacting airlines all over the world,
and it's definitely going to have an impact. And that's one of the reasons that when you've got an aircraft, we call them those silver revenue tubes
that are used for four or five segments a day. You're talking about let's say, on average, one hundred and fifty hundred and seventy passengers per flight that are being impacted, and a lot of those are connecting flights, so you're trying to not only get on the flight to your destination through a hub, but you're hoping that that flight's on time so you can hit your connection
on time. It's an absolute mess. And when you've got numbers like we've been seeing and right now that you know the TSA tells us every day with regards to how many people that they have had traveling two points six two point eight two point nine million people a day just here in the United States, Brian, there's no place to put those down, and it's really really problematic,
and so why airlines are doing the best they can. But in a situation like this, much as a weather event, you wait to see when things are going to clear before you can actually start rerouting people. Because the maddening thing is you're put on a morning flight and rerouted on an afternoon flight that's then canceled, and you're put on an evening flight which is then canceled, and you're put on the next day, and it just wears you out as a traveler. Just all I can say is, thank god my son
got back from California last night successfully. He was delayed a little bit, but at least he was able to get home. And then another hour or two and that might not have happened. Jay Ratliffe, love having you on the program. Appreciate the update. And I suppose in terms of hub delays, which you and I all Probaly's ended it. Oh yeah, count on you talk about that talent on they will be. But on a weather standpoint,
Atlanta late in the day may have issues. Let's hope you're flying, and that becomes a problem because right now a whole lot of things are not moving. Not moving, call ahead, smart moves. Jay Riyler, thanks for the late notice coming on the program. I appreciate having you on.
