95. This Is Farewell
Thank you for everything.

Thank you for everything.
Nationals were in Vermont this year and it was the hardest one yet.
Annie, Lauren, and Amanda went back to Bentonville to race as a team of three in the Rule of Three bike race. It was the best of times *and* the worst of times.
Annie and Lauren continue their retelling of the saga that is Expedition Ozarks. Settle in, this episode is a long one! *The Retreat at Willow Creek in Athens, Ohio is THE place to relax and restore or host your next event. If you need somewhere that is the perfect biking distance from Athens, ideally tucked in the woods, or that offers the kind of local expertise and event hosting that only owner Jess Kopelwicz can provide, we highly suggest making a reservation! *Next up in the TINAR Race Seri...
Annie and Lauren begin the tale of Expedition Ozarks, BRF Barf Racing’s first ever expedition race.
It’s the last week before BRF Barf Racing leaves for Expedition Ozarks. Lauren and Annie are feeling proud, ready, freaked out, grateful, and stressed. The Retreat at Willow Creek in Athens, Ohio is THE place to relax and restore or host your next event. Today we’re doing a vibe check. Is that what the kids say?
This event has been the focus of BRF Barf’s Racing entire racing season and it did not disappoint. Get the play by play on what has been our most fun, and most epic, adventure race to date. P.S. Did you know we’ve officially been doing this for five years now?
Annie and Lauren went to SheVentures in Chattanooga again this year, and got to be team leaders. Despite being pretty drained from pre-event travel, both Lauren and Annie left the event re-charged and PSYCHED.
Annie and Lauren raced last weekend at the 6 hour Unbridled Women AR, put on by the tireless mentor and pioneer for women in orienteering and adventure racing, Stephanie Ross or Flying Squirrel Adventures. Great things happened and every racer had the opportunity to take their racing to the first or next level.
It’s amazing what a difference two weeks make. Lauren and Anne learn lessons in asking for help, being brave and have a stellar race experience to boot.
BRF Barf Racing’s first experience at this event was a doozy. Anne and Lauren feel all their feelings.
All of BRF Barf Racing was in attendance at this year’s Wildcat Rogaine put on by TanZ Navigation and we had FUN.
Lauren has depression and we talk about it. **Sorry for the pops and crackles.
Did you know we do audio checks before we record each episode? This was a particularly BRF Barfy one.
Anne and Lauren talk a little about everything including the TINAR Alley Park Marathon and the Fig Adventure Race.
Anne led a team of 5 (almost all) brand new adventure racers. They brought enthusiasm and effort, and walked away with the division win! Women create magic, and this weekend was a lot of magic. “When you stop making love, this is what happens to your body.”
Lauren runs BFC for the 7th time, and Anne for the 5th. Hear the tale of mud and glory.
Lauren and Anne teamed up with Laura Comtois to run this year’s Nationals. The goal was to be as competitive as possible. There was a lot that went well, and a lot that went… a little dumb.
Lauren and Anne did all 3 days of the Run Baileys Trail Race weekend. It was great! And it was hard! They also recap their 4th of July adventure riding 100 miles to and from Cincinnati for their first double century.
Lauren and Anne have had some all women experiences recently, the Unbridled Women Adventure Race and Sheventures Camp. They spend an hour gushing about how great women are.
Lauren and Anne each had adventures! And we don’t just mean skipping their weekly armpit shave.
Some races are profound emotional experiences, and others are hours of talking nonsense while slap happy from sleep deprivation. This was mostly the latter.
Anne and Lauren discuss the Nine Principles of Harmony, and how they relate to Adventure Racing. For reals!
We’re back to podcasting in person and we did a hard thing. We would be sobbing if we weren’t so caught up yelling with joy and high fiving. This episode dedicated to Laura Comtois, our badass b*tch.
Lauren is keeping her mojo and Anne found some. Races are starting to come back!
Anne and Lauren are hanging in there!
