500. Alfonso Civile (Heartsick)

Join Alfonso and I as we discuss how toxic the metal/hardcore scenes are, and honestly maybe have always been? 

Alfonso opens up about how he got into heavier music growing up in Puerto Rico and moving to Miami. The importance of seeing representation in the scene with artists like Chino Moreno, Max Cavalera and how that made being in a band seem possible. 

We also talk about how fatherhood has changed him in various ways. From strengthening his relationship with one his bandmate who’d long been the sole parent in the band, to going to therapy to break some familial traumas.
