All right, guys, huge breaking news this morning out of the nation of Israel, thousands of rockets launched by Hamas militants in the largest scale attacks in fifty years since the yan Kapur War. Prime Minister Benjamin and Nyahu calling this a war, saying clearly to his nation that we are at war. I'm gonna break down for you everything

we know this morning. This is obviously a very fast moving situation with huge implications in terms of the human beings that are involved, in terms of domestic politics in Israel. A lot of context here in terms of the history what might happen moving forward, and also massive geopolitical ramifications as well. In addition, will be monitoring this obviously throughout the weekend and on Monday, we will have complete coverage for you on breaking points. Okay, So, as of now,

here is what we know. Hamas militants out of the Gaza Strip have launched thousands of rockets, somewhere between two and five thousand rockets into Israeli territory. Terms of casualties, so far, we know there are hundreds of Israelis injured, somewhere around two dozen Israelis killed. Of course, those numbers will continue to be updated. In addition to that, you had armed militants which were able to seize control of several southern Israeli towns. You had some assaults that appears

by both air and sea. We've seen reports of ships coming in as part of a sort of invading force. We've also seen hang gliders being used reportedly by militants. So one of the top takeaways here immediately, in addition to the shock of this is just what an incredibly massive intelligence and security failure this has been for Netanyahuo's basically whole government is its argument in case for its existence, which has been under siege, is security. If you have

me in place, you'll be safe. So that they were able to launch this attack of this incredibly multifaceted, faceted, sophisticated major obviously in the word works for months in advance, likely with outside support, without the knowledge of Masad or the IDF. It's hard to put into words how stunning that is to everybody, and certainly to Israeli people. Let me give you a sense of what Netnya who has said. He issued an immediate statement saying we are at war.

He's since updated with additional comments reading here, he says, since this morning, the State of Israel has been at war. Our first objective is to clear out the hostile forces that infiltrated our territory and restore the security and quiet to the communities that have been attacked. The second objective, at the same time is to exact an immense price from the enemy within the Gaza strip as well. The third objective is to reinforce other fronts so that nobody

should mistakenly join this war. We are at war. In war, one needs to be level headed. I call on all citizens of Israel to unite in order to achieve our highest goal, victory in the war. In terms of the history here, as I mentioned broadest attacks in fifty years, coming almost exactly on the anniversary of that Yan Kapoor war, that history and that timing appears to be no accident. In the Yang Kapor War, Israel caught off guard by attacks from a coalition of Arab states, and although they

were ultimately obviously victorious, Israel was. The fear that was stoked by that war has helped to justify this massive security and surveillance state, helped to justify the apartheid and outright at times genocidal conditions imposed upon the Palestinian people, so that historical timing not lost on anyone and certainly

not an accident here. In addition to the attacks that we showed you, we can also show you some footage of bulldozers being used to take down part of the wall that has been used to keep Gaza effectively an open air prison. And as I mentioned, you know, huge already human suffering caused by these attacks, which were indiscriminate and included civilians who have been killed, hundreds of Israeli citizens injured, dozens it appears killed. Continue to watch those

numbers as they change. And in addition to that, and this piece is actually quite quite significant, the militants have taken dozens of Israeli's hostage as well. Certainly, the idea here is to gain some leverage with regard to whatever the Israeli response is going to be. We know in the past Israeli responses have been incredibly heavy handed and

just absolutely brutal in terms of the civilian carnage. So the fact that they have Israeli hostages is going to complicate that response and lead to you know, they expect and they're hoping to use these hostages of some sort of leverage in future negotiations. I will also talk a little bit about the Israeli domestic and political context here. We should keep it These attacks don't come out of nowhere.

There's been a rapidly escalating levels of violence perpetrated both by the Israeli government and also by Jewish settlers against Palestinians and retaliation in exchange. We also have and part of why this is so significant domestically, NETANYAHUO has been under massive fire for aggressive attacks on the independent Judiciary

and the State Supreme Court in particular. Those have been nationwide, They've been widespread, They've included members of the IDF, So he's really been under domestic political siege in addition of

facing corruption charges. And as I said, you know, his whole argument for being there, and this is the most right wing government that Israel has ever had, including some ministers who have out and out expressed genocidal views and desires towards the Palestinian people, and his whole justification for his government's existence is I will keep you safe. So to have this level of attack, coordinated sophisticated air land

sea plan for months effectively executed. You know, that is a blow to the core of his case for being in power. I have no doubt you heard the tough words there. In terms of his plans going forward, I have no doubt it will elicit a brutal, you know, extreme approach as we have seen in the past, very heavy handed. You know, I have no idea. I can only imagine what this is going to mean for ordinary

Gaza civilians going forward. So you have, you know, that piece in terms of the domestic and just what a massive security failure this is. I just don't think that that can possibly be understated. You know, you also have huge geopolitical ramifications already fingers being pointed at Iran. Is there going to be an Israeli response directly at at Iran?

So that's one piece to watch. The other thing that perhaps led to or contributed to this series of attacks is you had the US directly involved in helping to attempt to broke or some sort of deal with Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Israel. It's something that Palestinians have been very upset about. So what will these attacks

mean for those negotiations moving forward? There's a lot of unanswered questions right now, and of course, you know, the most important piece here is what it's going to mean for ordinary civilians who are caught up in this, in this monstrosity, you know, both the ordinary Israelis who have been attacked or taken hostage, but you just know this response is going to be absolutely brutal from the Israeli side.

So there's going to be a lot for us to watch here and keep an eye on in terms of reaction, in terms of continued response from Hamas, in terms of what happens with these hostages, in terms of what happens with the geopolitical situation. Obviously, you know we're incredibly close allies of Aroun here in the United States, funding much

of their defense infrastructure, so lots to watch. Will continue to keep an eye on it and keep you guys updated as things unfold, And as I said, we'll have full, breaking, complete coverage for you on Monday. We're already working on getting that show together so that we can have this covered covered from all aspects. Thanks so guys, so much, guys for supporting the show, and we'll see you all soon.
