Episode description

*TRIGGER WARNING - This episode discusses traumatic death

Welcome to the Brave Women at Work podcast. This is your host, Jen Pestikas. I’m so glad you’re here.

Hello everyone! How are you doing out there?

Let’s talk about a topic that’s not talked about often: using our intuition at work.

When you make key decisions at work, do you exclusively use data, research, and analysis?

What about when you hire someone? Do you sole rely on a hiring assessment?

Or do you use your gut or intuition too? For the longest time, I was exclusively “head” based. What I learned, however, is that I need to check-in with my gut or intuition as a source of wisdom too. I’m no longer exclusively head based, but I don’t ignore my internal knowing either. Everytime I have ignored it, it’s led me in the wrong direction.

What about you? Do you consult your intuition?

I was recently introduced to Jenn Johnson, an ER nurse and author that wrong about using her intuition in nursing. I thought that she was so brave to share that perspective, especially in the medical field. I was intrigued and was excited to have her on the show.
