Today I'm thinking about my brother as I record this. I can't help but think about and wonder what it was that made him feel like he couldn't ask for help. I feel strongly that several contributors include shame and negative mental health stigmas, toxic masculinity, and our perverted culture around emotion.

We both learned early that you have to be tough to survive this life sometimes, but what it means to be tough is presented very differently for boys and men. I share some of my thoughts on this and what I've learned truly being tough and strong is. Hint: you've got to  be vulnerable and honest, especially with yourself.

I share some of the things I've learned about how to be tough, what that means and how that meaning has changed for me over the years.

Give it a listen!
