Episode description

What could possibly go wrong mixing social media and plastic surgery?

Our special guest is Dr. Christian Vercler, MD, MA, HEC-C, Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. He serves as Co-Chief of the Clinical Ethics Service of the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine at the University of Michigan. Dr. Vercler is a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in craniofacial surgery.

Dr. Vercler has written extensively about the complex ethical issues regarding social media and plastic surgery, and how Instagram, Snapchat and Tik Tok may lead (or mislead) both surgeons AND patients into choices which may result in problems.
