Now, we always want to improve our brain function in natural, holistic ways. There's not a medicine that's going to
improve your memory doesn't exist. Now, a lot of doctors will put people on medication who have dementia Alzheimer's, saying, oh, this is a medication for Alzheimer's. But the truth is there hasn't been a lot of evidence to prove that it actually does any good. But that's what doctors do. They prescribe medicine and it's not their fault. That's what they're taught in school. So the school goes, Okay, you have diabetes, here's met foreman.
You have high blood pressure, here's the pill for that. You need a blood dinner, here's a pill for that. You have acid reflux, here's a pill for that. You got pain, here's a pain killer. You got dizzyness, here's mechlasine. You got diabetes, met Foreman, you got uh depression, SSRIs, got anxiety, Here's a xenax. You got a reptile dysfunction. You know, there's a pill for that. There's a pill for every condition. So they like to label you and put you in a
category so that you could get the pill that goes with that category. But the pills never a cure, right, So if you take you know, if you have a rectile dysfunction and you take a viagra, it doesn't mean that you're never gonna get a rectile dysfunction. Again, it means that you're still gonna have a rectile dysfunction, but you have to keep taking viagra. So that's not a cure. That's trying to cover up the symptoms. Why
do you have la lack of arousal or lack of libido? Right? There is an issue maybe in your thyroid, maybe in your autonomic nervous system, maybe in your brain, maybe in your blood flow circulation, maybe inflammation, maybe a virus. There's a lot of things that can cause it. I mean, it's one of the most popular conditions that I'm treating right now. When I can't tell you how many guys are coming to me saying they've lost
their arousal, they have a rectile dysfunction, they lost their libida. So I mean there are lots of issues there, and sometimes it's side effects of a medication. Sometimes it's poor circulation. Sometimes it's autonomic disfunction. Sometimes it's stress. Sometimes it's inflammation. But if we can figure out where the root cause is coming from, then we could give the appropriate advice. Sometimes you just have to start lifting weights. Lifting weights can cure lots of conditions.
It's a mood stabilizer. There's no drug on the planet that can give you the chemicals that you'll get that will boost your mood from doing weight resistant exercises. You have to start lifting weights. Not only is it good for your heart, it's good for your muscles. It's good for your bones, your brain, your hormones, your mud dude. Start lifting weights. Weight resistant exercise. I don't care if it's even push ups and pull ups, or you use bands, or you use just bags from the grocery store, your
purse, just anything that has a little weight to it. Use anything. You don't need actual weights, but you need weight resistant exercises. You want to prevent osteoporosis, right, you don't take medication. You gotta start lifting weights. Don't take calcium because you have osteoporosis. That's the worst things to do. That's one of the biggest misnomers all of medicine is that, oh, if you're diagnosed with osteoporosis, you should take calcium. No, that
is completely false. Don't believe the lie. You're only gonna take calcium. If you have a calcium efficiency, can your blood work very simple, look under calcium and be listed as C A and if it's not low, don't take calcium. Calcium is very dangerous, could lead to breast cancer, arthritis, clogged arteries, brain disease, inflammation. If you're taking calcium and you don't need it, you're gonna deposit it someplace else where. It's gonna cause
damage. Most people who have osteoporosis have two major dilemmas. Number one is vitamin D deficiency, not calcium. Vitamin D. Vitamin D keeps your bone strong. And number two is lack of weight resistant exercise. You have to start doing weight resistant exercise. Just start with one push up. I don't care do something. There's a stuff that came out that showed a person who could do forty push ups is ninety percent less likely to get a heart attack
and a stroke versus another person who can't do ten push ups. That's how important it is to do weight resistant exercise. So if you could do forty push ups, you're ninety percent less likely to get a heart attack or stroke versus someone who can't do ten push ups. Which category you want to be in? One that can't do ten pushups or one that could do forty push ups. I want to be in the forty push up group. I am in the forty push up group, and I want all of you to be
able to do forty push ups. That will make you strong, that will make you healthier. There's no pill that's going to do it. It's all in your own desire and act that you take. You have to start creating good habits right. Don't follow what everyone else does, or else you'll end up like everyone else, and everyone else has heart disease, cancer, obesity,
diabetes, Alzheimer's disease. That's the typical American route. That's where the typical American is gonna end up after they retire at sixty five, with heart disease, with cancer, obesity, diabetes, Alzheimer's. That's a typical American. Don't be a typical American. Don't do what everyone else does. Where you drink your Starbucks in the morning, then you work sitting at the computer,
have a sandwich or a little salad for lunch. Then work more, it more, computer more, go home, sit more, Netflix, more, scroll on the internet, eat a big dinner, go to bed on a full stomach, and wake up and do it all over again. Then you end up like everybody else. Break that routine. Get in a good morning routine. The morning is the most important time. That's your power hour. Don't tell me you don't have time. Wake up earlier, then go
to bed earlier, wake up earlier. Right, there's twenty four hours in a day. Do you know if you work forty hours a week and you sleep eight hours a night, so we're taking rid of all your work in all your sleep in a week, you have over seventy hours of free time to do whatever you want. Seventy hours a week. Don't tell me you don't have time to exercise. Seventy hours. Isn't enough time to exercise seventy hours. That's with a full time job and sleep in eight hours a night.
Seventy hours you have. You better use that properly, and it better include exercise out of those seventy hours, a minimum of five and be exercise. Don't tell me you can't spare five hours a week out of seventy three hours. Five hours a week. It's not even an hour a day.
You can do it. You just gotta put your mind to it. Set that alarm clock a little bit earlier, and get that power hour where every morning you exercise, you drink your water, you met it, take, you read you journal, say your gratitude, get some sunlight, get some oxygen, do some oil pulling. That's the morning power hour. And I don't care if it's a thirty second meditation and you read one page of a book and you write down one thing that you're grateful for, and you exercise
for five minutes. Doesn't have to be a lot, but do it all getting those good habits. Oil pulling is where you take coconut oil every morning before you even swallow or talk or drink any water, and just swish it all around your mouth. The oil pulling. It pulls out the bacteria, the bad bacteria. If you do mouthwash, which is alcohol that's gonna kill off the good bacteria, which you don't want to do. That's why oil polling is preferable, because you're not going to kill off the good bacteria.
You're only gonna cool off the bad bacteria. And you spit it out in the garbage, not in your sink. That can ruin the pipes. That's oil pulling. First thing in the morning. We have the most bacteria in your mouth, right, so you do an oil pulling. You're drinking your water on an empty stomach with Pinklain salt or Celtic salt. Put some lemon in there for some flavor, and try and get two glasses on an empty
stomach every single morning. After you do your oil pulling, right, and then you do your little exercise, read a little bit gratitude journal, get your power hour going, start getting in good habits, start meditating. Your brain needs to chill out. There's too much stress right now, all right, So get up early and do your power hour so you function better, feel better, and live a better life. We alays teach you that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Don't wait till things are bad to start working on them. One of the earliest signs of brain disease is
loss of smell. Loss of smell happens forty years before you start losing your memory, with Alzheimer's or it happens forty years before you get a tremor with Parkinson's disease. So we see a lot of patience with loss of smell out and we have to get that back if their frontal cortex is gonna function at optimal levels. If you want your smell back, you gotta do smelling exercises. Nobody teaches you how to do smelling exercises well. Capalmbingbody. We do
those in the office and I'll teach you how to do it. Just stick around for the end of the show. We're gonna give away a gift so you can figure out how to accomplish that. So you gotta do smelling exercises. The best smell exercise or the best test is a peanut butter test. That's the standard smell test for doctors around the country. So if you can smell peanut butter, that's a good sign. If you can smell peanut butter, that's a bad sign. And you have to check each individual nostril.
So you cover your left see if you can smell it, cover your right, see if you can smell it. So you have to increase your smell. We do a lot of things. For that hyper oxygen chamber works very well getting the smell back. Our cold laser therapy that we do, we stick it right up the nostril helps to regenerate that olfactory nerve. Then we do different visualizations and perpial sceptives, touch stuff and visualizations and feeling, and then we add the smell in there. So we add the different senses,
whether it's site, touch, taste, and that enhances the smell. Right. So you know, like you can imagine the taste of a lemon. Right, you could even get your saliva to start watering as you can feel the sourness on your tongue just by imagining it. Your brain is very powerful. However, most people use their brain against themselves where they think, oh, what if I get cancer? What if I get cancer? Don't put that in the universe. Oh I don't want to get COVID. I don't
want to get COVID. Stop saying that. Don't put that in your brain. Oh no, what if I get diabetes or I'm gonna get fat, or I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight. Stop telling yourself that. Don't create those negative pathways in your brain, right, You gotta think that you're healthy. You gotta believe that your immune system is strong. You gotta know your brain functioning in a higher level, and your memory is gonna prove
with age because you're gonna be the one percent. You're gonna do what nobody else does. And I know that my radio listeners love to hear the advice I give them because it's going to prevent Alzheimer's and dementia. But you gotta work for it, right. Don't call me, don't come to my offices
if you're looking for a pill. And I'm not just talking medicine. If you just want some herb that's gonna fix your brain, or some homeopathic remedy that's gonna fix your brain, or some magic supplement like reveragen it's gonna fix your brain. That's not what I do at Capital and Brain and Buy. We teach the patient how to help themselves. If you know how to help
yourself, then you don't need doctors. You don't need hospitals. You don't need medications and supplements and herbs and in jets and ivs and homeopathic remedies and all these healers. You won't need it because your body heals on its own, the power that made the body heals the body. Don't think some guy in some white lab coat who gives you some pill produced in a lab is
your solution to health. It's not. The healthiest people in the world are the ones that take the least medication, see the least amount of doctors, do the least amount of tests. You know, all these tests that we do for quote unquote prevention is BS right? Do these mammograms really save lives? Or are they radiating their breast? Until you get breast cancering, limit
your radiation. There's radiation everywhere, right, So I'll go to the dentist and say no, I don't want to take my X rays this time. I'll go to the airport and skip the X ray machine. Say okay, give me the pat down. You know my doctor tells me, oh I need to get you know, a cat skin or an X ray or an ultrasound. I'm going to question that question everybody. Nobody cares about your health more than you, and ask people, hey, why do I need this
X ray? You know I question people all the time. I don't care it's my health. You think they care about my health more than I do. No, they don't. You know, when I go to the dentist, I as I say, I don't want the floor ride. Fluoride is a neurotoxin. And I teach them because a lot of the dentists and a lot of the hygienis, they don't know that. So I teach them. And I never had a cavet in my life, never, not one forty six years old, never had a cavity. Right, So what are they
gonna say, Oh, no, you need floride. They can't argue with me because I have less cavities than they do. So why am I going to listen to them? You don't listen to anybody that is worse than you. Right, Are you going to listen to someone who's overweight about nutrition? No? What if I, being the brain expert, had a horrible memory, going to listen to me? Right? How am I the expert if
my brain isn't functioning well? So you gotta lead an example, Right, I'm not gonna take financial advice from someone who has less money than I do. If they knew how to make money, they'd have a lot more money than I do. Right, I'm not going to take a relationship advice from someone who's been divorced, right, because they don't know how to have a good relationship. You only take advice from people who are better off than you.
So I'm gonna take advice, you know, from someone who's married seventy years? Oh, how do I build a good relationship with my wife? I'd happily married people. If I want to help advice, I'm gonna get it from healthy people. Want business advice, I get it from rich people. Right. I want spiritual advice, I'm gonna go to a rabbi or a pastor, right, someone who knows more than I do, who studied the Bible, who understands it more. Right, So you have to go
to people that know more than you. I always want to be the dumbest person in the room. I don't want to be the smartest person in the room. Then I'm not going to learn anything. I'll teach people stuff, but I like to learn. I want to be the dumbest person in the room. I want to be around all geniuses who know more than me, so I could learn from them. You're gonna be like the people you surround
yourself with. So if you surround yourself with people who are getting drunk every night, going to the bar, smoking cigarette, eating pizza and fried chicken and French fries all the time, then you're gonna end up unhealthy. But if you hang out with people who go hiking and play tennis and basketball and go to the gym and spend tight outside and get vitamin D and sunlight and
arely smiling and making jokes, that's who you want to be around. I don't want to be around miserable people who are complaining, who have anxiety, who are always stressed watching the news, overweight, sedentary, lifestyle, depression, anxiety. If I hang around with those type of people, I'm gonna become that type of person. So you are who you surround yourself with.
If you want to be more spiritual, start hanging out with people who go to church every week, join a Bible study group, start reading the Torah. You have to do what you want to be, but if you don't take action, it won't happen. If you want to be healthy, you got to take healthy action. You want to be successful, you got to take financial action. You want to be spiritual, you better start praying and reading. You put in the work. You get the results. You want
your eyes to improve, you do eye exercise, he said. You want your smell to improve, you do smell exercise. When you're hearing to do hearing exercise. You want your posture to improve, do posture exercise. You want your memory to improve, do memory exercise. It's not rocket science, but you gotta do the work. For your brain to function at highest levels, it has to be resilient, it has to be challenged. You don't want the easy way. The easy way makes your brain worse. What's the easy
way? Just sitting at home on the couch, getting your Uber Eats delivery, getting your Amazon package delivered, sending up text messages and emails, and doing face time and everything can be done sit down on your couch. The easy way makes your brain worse. Yes, you gotta do it the hard way. You gotta go out in the real world. You got to interact with other people. Purposely. Park far away, so you have to walk a little bit more. Purposely, take the stairs instead of the escalator.
Purposely, try and remember your grocery list or remember your friend's phone number. Or remember the address of the place you're going to. Don't rely on the technology. Make it harder. Struggle, get up early to exercise. It's easy to sleep in and press the snooze. Don't take the easy way out. Do it the hard way. Then you release your dopamine, your serotonin, your oxytocin, on the neurotransmitters and hormones that you need. Do it
the hard way. Challenge yourself right. If you're hot, don't always put on the air conditioner. Sweat a little bit. That's good for detoxing. And when it's the winter, come outside for a minute in your shorts and t shirt. Freeze a little bit in your shower and cold super that's gonna make your brain stronger. You gonna make it more resilient. Go to bed hungry. That's good for your brain. It's good for your gut and your sleep. You gotta suffer, gotta be resilient. Make your brain strong so
it can handle anything. People can't handle anything these days. They can't handle stress. That's not good. I don't care what it is. Give me the rain, I'm fine with it. Give me the snow, I'm fine with it. Give me the cold, I'm fine with it. Give me the heat, give me the humidity. I don't care what it is. You'll never ever, ever hear me complain about the weather. It's the most ridiculous thing. Stop complaining about the weather. I don't care if it's raining.
Take a shower every day, don't you. You know in the summer it's too hot. In the winter it's too cold. Nobody's ever happy. Start being the one percent where you're happy with everything. I mean, I went outside during Hurricane Sandy. I just got the rain pourt on me. I ran. My wife's think, you're crazy. The tree is gonna fall on you. Hey, that can happen. A tree can always fall on
you. You know. I have a patient. He's it was this amazing wrestler in college, you know, like they made it to the finals of his weight class. Very smart, good looking guy. And he was just driving home one day and boom, a tree fell in his car, paralyzed him. Right, It was completely random. Those things happen. It sucks, but they happened. You know. I had another patient, uh really uh, professional musician violinist, and she got hit by you know, one
of those motor scooters on the sidewalk and had a traumatic brain injury. Now it's very hard for her to walk. She can't play her violin anymore. So her you know, her whole career was taken from her from a traumatic brain injury. Wasn't her fault, she was just walking on the sidewalk. What's my other patient's fault? You were just driving. You didn't help the
tree falling on him. Right, But what you can control. You must control what you put in your body, your mental attitude, who you hang out with, your stress levels, right, your good habits, your exercise, your spirituality, your charity, your relationships. You have to live in your bubble that you control. Right. You can't control you know, Biden or Trump? Why are you gonna be so stressed about these two guys? Ridiculous? You can't control it. You're not gonna change either of them.
So getting mad by watching them on TV doesn't help anybody, all right, So stop watching the news. Unplug you want to reduce anxiety and depression, turn off the news. It's too stressful, Okay. Listen to health podcasts and uh, you know, self improvement audible books and you know, listen to comedians and listen to you know, history things and you know, learn
a new language and do something productive. The news is not productive. I'd rather you listen to music because the music makes you happy and that releases some good hormones. That's good for your mood. And then if you start dancing and singing even better. Then if you listen to music, dance and sing outside in the sun, breathing the oxygen, get an exercise, even better.
And then to top it off, if you go outside, get some some like, get some oxygen, get some exercise, listen to some music, sing the music, dance the music, and do it with loved ones of friends and family members. That is the best of all. Combine it all. Don't sit at home on the couch watching the news. That's the worst thing to do, especially at night before bed, and especially first thing
in the morning. It'll ruin your whole day if you do it first thing in the morning, and it'll ruin your whole night if you do it at night. So just don't do it. It's not even real. The news is only telling you the one percent of the stuff they want you to know, and they're pleasantly omitting the ninety nine percent that is actually showing you how great the world is, and how positive the world is, and how loving the world is, and how amazing this earth is, and the people that
created this and how smart we are. Right, they're skipping all that stuff. They're only sharing with you that evil one percent. They're only sharing through the stories that get you angry, that get you emotional, they get you scared. They're not sharing the ninety nine percent of the stories they give you joy and happiness and love and hope for the future of humanity. That is the stuff they should be sharing, but they won't share that. It's fake.
All the news is fake because they're only sharing the one percent that's gonna scare you, and it's skewed in a manner in which they could push their agenda. Okay, so stop watching the news. It's the worst thing for your brain. It's gonna increase cortisol, the stress hormone. That's gonna be positive belly fat. It's gonna interrupt your deep sleep. You're not gonna be able to digest your food properly. It's gonna make you more likely to get
heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes. So turn it off, unplug, go back to the old ways where people were outside and people were social, not stuck at home being anti social. They should call it antisocial media because it prevents people from being social. It's the worst thing people are to it. It's like a drug. They have social media rehab. Now. You know, one of the best things I tell my patience to do is just delete the application. Therefore you're not tempted as much. Just delete it.
Take that extra step. It's a little bit harder. Stop paying for cable. You don't need that news. It's nothing good on cable. Don't have it out of sight, out of mind. Don't buy those cookies. If it's not in your house, you're not going to eat it. Don't have any alcohol in your house. You don't want those temptations. Right. If you don't have it, it's much easier to avoid. You avoid the
bad people, You avoid the bad things. You avoid the bad stuff doing the bad stuff, You avoid the foods, fight eating the bad foods, and so out of mind. Don't have anything bad house, right. You want TV's all over and computers all over everything, five G and Wi Fi. Turn that stuff off. Turn off your Wi Fi. The electromagnetic frequencies can mess with your brain and bodies. Function, and the more smart devices you have, the more radiation you're getting, like you're getting microwaved. Would
you put your head in a microwave? Stop holding your phone next to your brain. Now, you've got to reduce the electromagnetic radiation, keep everything far away from you, and definitely don't sleep with it. That way you'll function better, feel better, and live a better life. know if you have certain things that you're predisposed to? So you know, the easiest way to know is just kind of look at your family history, right, So, do a lot of people have cancer in your family? Do a lot of people have heart disease in your family? They have obesity? Do they have diabetes? Do they have Alzheimer's disease? So there's a certain amount of people that have a certain condition. Yeah, you're probably more
likely to have it. But there's something called epigenetics, right, So for years everyone studied genetics, and they want to say, oh, you know, my dad gives me a gene, my mom gives me a gene, and I'm going to get this gene and I'm more likely to get this condition. So they're always looking at these genetics. Right. With epigenetics, you could change your own genes. You could turn off bad means and you could
turn on good genes. You can activate the stuff that can be beneficial to you, could deactivate your weak links stuff that's going to be detrimental to you. For example, my mom is a recovering alcoholic, so you know she's been sober for thirty years. Now, okay, now I have the alcoholic gene right now. If I drank before my brain was fully developed at twenty
two, then that's going to activate the alcoholic gene. But with epigenetic theory, if I choose not to drink the alcohol and I alter my environment, then I don't turn on that that bad gene. And then when I have a child, because I didn't turn on that bad gene, I'm not gonna give the alcohol addiction gene to my kids. So I stopped the process. So a lot of times Grandma has anxiety, Mom has anxiety, therefore daughter
has anxiety. There's no bigger factor to determining whether child and will have anxiety than how the mother was when she was pregnant. If the mother is super stressed and anxious and panics when she's pregnant, that kid is gonna be born in stress mode. If you're pregnant and you're dehydrated all the time, your kid is gonna be born dehydrated. If you eat a lot of crappy food, inflammatory food when you're pregnant, your kid is more likely to get brain
inflammation and gut and digestive problems. There's nothing more important for brains development than how the mother is when she's pregnant. So that's when you have to be as healthy as possible. That's the one. The husband's got to reduce the stress of those wives as much as possible while she's pregnant. It's for your own kid's sake, if not your own wife. The more stressed mom is,
the more stress the kids are. But remember the epigenetics, right, If everyone in your family has diabetes, right, but you decide not to eat sugar, not to drink soda, not to eat bread, have all these potatoes and rice and noodles and cracks and muffins and cane and cookies and candy and juice. So if you avoid all that and you don't have the sedentary lifestyle and you exercise, you're going to turn off that bad jean.
And then if you have really if you're a male and you donate your sperm at the time when you're really healthy and mom is eating super healthy and she's exercising and her egg is super healthy, then the kid will not get diabetes because you turned off the bad Jean. If you have Alzheimer's in your family, you better start working at it, and you better start working at it at a young age, because I told you it takes forty years to develop up. A lot can happen from forty to eighty. A lot can happen
from twenty to sixty. Right, I'm seeing I'm seeing younger and younger Alzheimer's now. You know, when I started practice seeing patients twenty four years ago, most of the Alzheimer's patients we're in their eighties and nineties. And then the past you know, decade or so. Started seeing it in the seventies and not more recently, I'm seeing it in the fifties and sixties. It's crazy, young, vibrant, healthy people. They're just losing their memory.
I told you it's going to be bad with COVID, with all these people losing their smell. We better get that smell back, We better get that brain functioning. But we got to do the proper tests to see if you're at risk. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. There's three tests that are super important that I would recommend doing to do a full thorough neurologic evaluation to see do you have any predisposition to any neurologic
or physical conditions, and we're gonna give a gift. Okay, Now here's the three tests. Number one one. It's called a qEEG brain mapping. You wear a cap on your head. It's got electrodes attached to it that measures your different brain ways alpha, beta, theta, delta, and it tells us which areas of the brain are functioning well and which
areas are not functioning well. It's gonna tell us do you have sleep deprivation? Do you have depression, anxiety? Do you have low energy, trouble with motivation, organization planning, short term memory, long term memory, mediate memory, sequential memory. It breaks it all down. Do you have difficulties shifting tests? Do you have low dopamine, low a seal coling? Do you have a traumatic brain injury? Do you have heavy metal poisoning? Do
you have some pathology? Do you have white matter inflammation? Do you have a thyroid problem? Do you have intestinal problems? It literally does everything. It's a great machine. There's no radiation, there's no dye that you have to take. You don't have to sit in some claustrophobic tube. Super quick, super easy, a q EEG brain mapping. I definitely suggest that's one
of the first tests you get. The second test is called a VNG video nostography that tests to where these goggles that have infrared cameras on them, and you're gonna watch this red laser light and it's gonna go left and right and
up and down. The light's gonna go on and off, and it's gonna go fast and slow, and it's gonna be random, and it's gonna be repetitive, and it's gonna go all different directions, and it's gonna say, okay, which areas of the brain are overactive and which brain parts of the brain are underactive. You know, out they're overactive, you might have a
lot of distractions. Your mind's racing a million miles an hour. You might get anxiety or heart palpitations or panic, or you might have sleeping problems, or you might have muscle spasm and tension. And uh so that's if it's overactive, then it also tells which areas are underactive. You know, you might have fatigue, low energy, low motivation, bad memory, depression, you know, so everything's slow and underactive. Might have a thyroid issue,
might have constipation, you might have respiratory problems. You know, you might just be brain foggy. So this v energy picks up which areas are overactive that we need to chill out, which areas underactive that we need to strengthen. It also tells us the imbalances of the left and right brain. That's one of the best reasons I love this test because it tell us, hey, you know, we need to seem like your right brain more. We need to steemate your left brain more. And so you do exercise only on
one side. That gets your brain balanced and your mood balanced as well. That's the second test. So this is where we go over your blood work, we go over your VNG, we go over your q EEG brain mapping, I
