If you want to improve your brain function and your memory, you have to do things that you're not comfortable with. You gotta think outside the box. You don't want to be a creature of
habit. You have to switch it up. Novelty or new things is the most important thing to improve your brain function. Are you doing new things every day? Are you doing something today that you've never done before in your life? And I know people say, oh, well, I read and I do the crossword puzzle, and I take a walk, and I eat healthy food. But are you doing the same thing every day? Is your exercise only walking? Is your healthy meals always the same? Real chickens and broccoli
and salad? Right? Are you switching it up? If you just go to the same job, hang out with the same people, go to the same places, eat the same foods, do the same exercise, then your brain doesn't get stimulated. You have to switch it up. Novelty is the key. Maybe start brushing your teeth with your left hand. Maybe start taking
a different route to work. Maybe visit a new place that you've never been, join a new club, meet a new person, cook a new meal, play a new gain, learn a new musical instrument, take a dance lesson, do something that you've never done before. Get out of your comfort zone. You keep doing the same thing over and over, your brain will deteriorate. If all you do is wake up, eat breakfast, work, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, and go to bed, your
brain will die off. You gotta start switching it up. You gotta challenge your brain, make it work. You're not gonna go to the gym and do weightlifting with a pencil. You're not gonna gain any muscle mass. Your memory is not going to improve if you don't challenge it. If you're too comfortable and you're not challenging your brain, your memory will get worse. Don't believe the why that age has anything to do with your memory getting worse.
You should get better as you get older. If you're doing new things, novelty, you have to do new things. I don't care if it's taking off your left shoe and walking ten feet backwards in a safe environment. That's something you've never done before. Do something new, Go to a new place. Travel, Enjoy the world, Enjoy the United States. So much going on just within our own country, so many places you've probably never been,
so many states you've never visited, so many national treasures you've ignored. Start experiencing life. Unplug, turn off your computer, turn off your phone, turn off your iPad, turn off your television, and start experiencing life. Get off your butt. Do you really want your brain to be better? Are you just saying that? You're just saying I want my memory to improve. If you really want your memory to improve, then you actually have to
work for it. Nobody is gonna give you some magic pill that improves your memory. If there was a magic pill that improves your memory, everybody would take it and nobody would have dementia. For Alzheimer's, there is no magic pill. There's no magic pill for Alzheimer's. Hate to break it to you, there's also no magic medicine for cancer. There's no cure for cancer. Everyone's always like, oh, what's the cure for cancer. We gotta find
the cure for cancer. Let's do research for the cure for cancer. There will never ever be a cure for cancer. How many decades, how many dozens of years have they been trying to find a cure for cancer, And what do they do? The same thing They've always done. Chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. That's it. Nothing's really changed. A few little things here and there, but overall, everybody still for cancer gets chemo radiation or
surgery. So all this research, and you've probably given money to it, all these decades of research, the American Cancer Society, Leukemia Society, Pancreatic Cancer Society, all these charities, nobody will cure cancer. Get over it. It's not happening. I don't care if you had five people in your family with cancer. There will never be a cure for cancer. There will never be a cure for Alzheimer's disease. There will never be a cure for
heart disease. It's always the same. Take your liptor or your statin drug, take your little blood dinner, take your high blood pressure mads, and take these meds for the rest of your life so that you could keep adding more money to these pharmaceutical companies pockets. They don't want a cure. They want you having heart disease, so you still take their cholesterol mads, you still take their blood thinner as you still take their high blood pressure mads.
That's what they want. They don't want to cure. They want to give you chemo because guess what, chemo can cause cancer and then you're more likely to get cancer again. And you know how much money they make off cancer. Cancer is the only disease where the doctor is going to get a kickback for prescribing the treatment of chemotherapy. Doctors actually get money when they prescribe chemotherapy.
When you go to a doctor and they give you some Alzheimer's pill or some diabetes occasion or some headache pail or Parkinson's medication, they don't get a kickback. That's illegal. They're not allowed to pharmaceutical companies, even though they find ways to get around it, whether it's oh, come to our corporate retreat in Hawaii, or let me take you on this nice dinner or vacation or outing, or you know, they get ways around it. Let me
get all these new computers for your office sponsored by Pfizer. Right, so they get around it. But technically doctors are not allowed to get a kickback from any medication that they prescribe, except they're allowed to get a kickback from chemotherapy. They also pediatricians will also get bonuses if they keep everybody up to date in their practice with the vaccine schedule recommended by the CDC. So if your doctor's office is deniing you access because you're not up to date with vaccines,
it's not because they care about your health. It's because they're not getting their bonuses. Got it, So there are incentives to keep you on the plan. You gotta think outside the box. I don't take any medicine. I used to take a lot of medicine when I was growing up. I have bronchitis. I was always taking steroids and antibiotics and tylono and avil and aspirin and iduprofen, and I was always taking medication until I realize this is
not being healthy because the medication side effects were worse than the condition. The way may be nauseous, brain fog, low energy, stomach pains, throwing up from these drugs and a thirteen year old kid, it's like, I don't want to keep throwing up every day. I would throw up ten to twenty times a day. Anytime I walked a little fast and my heart beat a little fat boom, I would just throw up. It was the worst feeling in the world. Imagine a thirteen year old kid not being able to
play basketball with his friends, not doing intramuros. I couldn't even go trick or treating because there was too much walking for me. I kept throwing up every ten feet and it was horrible. My friends were nice. They would just come visit me at home and say, hey, uh, you know how you doing. How you feeling? But I couldn't go. You imagine thirteen year old kid got pretty much my last time to trick or treat and I couldn't do it. So I realized, hey, I got to change
my life. I need a paradigm shift. I can't keep doing what everyone else does. If I follow the ninety or the ninety nine percent, I'm gonna end up like the ninety nine percent. I want Alzheimer's cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, on twelve medications, dying in my seventies. That's not the life I want. I want the one percent. No doctors, no medication, no pills, all my health is from within. The power that made the body heals the body. But we need to unleash its
power. We need to feed it the proper nutrients. You don't need a multi vitamin. There's no one in America that's deficient in every vitamin. Why would you ever take a multi vitamin because all these things that you're not deficient and then they can actually cause problems. Not only that, most of these multivitamins are full of contaminants, impurities, fillers, toxic substances, preservatives, food diesicial sweeteners. These aren't supplements. Don't think that a supplement is safe

This is doctor Eric Kaplan, and you're listening to boost your brain power. Now. I do take vitamin D, but you have to check your levels first, because I was deficient at a patient the other day. Their vitamin D levels were too high, so I had to get them off vitamin D. The sweet spot is about fifty or sixty in your blood work. If you're at twenty thirty, it's too low. If you're at ninety or one hundred, it's too high. Get that fifty sixty spot sweet right in
the middle. And that's the key with all your with all your levels right. You don't want your iron to love or your anemic. You don't want your iron too high or that could be toxic. You don't want your B twelve too low that could be neuropathy. Or you don't want your B twelve too high that could be problematic. So don't just take B twelve for energy,
magnesium for your cram, so your sleep iron. Because you're a vegetarian, you only are going to take supplements because your blood work has been analyzed by functional medicine practitioner and they found where your deficiencies are. I had a patient with iron deficiency and they were taking these iron pills that was constipating them
because the doctor said, oh, your anemic can take iron. But then when I looked at the blood work, I realized it's not that they were iron deficient, it is that they were hype of chlora hydria, decreased stomach acid. And you can analyze the blood work and look at the different proteins, the globulin, the albumin, the ag ratio, look at the inflammation, look at the gut microbiome, and then we could tell what's going on here. Most people have absorption issues, not deficiencies, and a lot of
times these absorption issues are caused by pills or the doctor. Right if you're taking and acids tongues rolaids because you had some issues with digestion or stomach problems or reflux or gird then you depleted your own gut of stomach acid. Your stomach acid breaks down your food and helps with the absorption. So if you're deficient, and sometimes it's not that you're not eating the foods, it's that you're not absorbing the foods. So taking supplements isn't gonna help. I'm sick
of patients taking ten to twenty supplements a day doesn't make any sense. So what they did in the Jetsons, they would just take these pills. We're not in the Jetsons. You can eat real food, Eat food from the earth, not made in a factory. In a little pill, it's not food. It's not real. Start living real, don't be in the matrix. Unplug, get out of your house, get real sunlight, get out of your house, Get real oxygen. Get out of your house. Be
in nature, get out of your house. Get some war. Everything is free out outside, free sum, free oxygen, free water. You can take some seeds. Get free food. Stop staying inside, ordering food, watching Netflix, being lazy, be on the couch. Do you want obesity, you want diabetes? You want to get Alzheimer's. Stay at home, sitting on the couch all day, stay at work on the computer all day. Don't be social, don't eat healthy, don't exercise. That's a recipe
for dementia, that's a recipe for Alzheimer's. I, for one, don't want that. So I like to unplug. I like to go on vacation. I go on twelve vacations a year minimum. I've already been on seven to eight vacations this year. Going to Lake Georgia next week, and we're going to the Dominican Republic. You're going to go to New Orleans, Dallas. Still have all these leftover. I'm gonna take my wife to Greece. Lots of vacations planned. And it doesn't have to be far. Go to
Fire Island. You know that's right in Long Island. Go to the Jersey Shore, it's just an hour away. Doesn't have to be Europe. Like we said in America, there's so many places, but switch it up. Get out of the house. Your brain is like a muscle. You use it or you lose it. So start experiencing life. Get off your butt. And if you need a little motivation, you need a little accountability, you need a coach, you need someone to push you, a therapist.

You want to know how your brain's doing, then you come to see me. I've
seen over one hundred thousand patients. I've seen Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's stroke, MS, panic disorders, bipolar autism, Turette's dyslexia, adhd MS, autoimmune disease, thyroid problems, intestinal inflammation, heavy metal poisoning, mold exposure, COVID nineteen, long haulers, lime disease, balance problems, headaches, migraines, dizziness, vertigo, BPPV pots. I've seen it all, and I know what part of the brains are working well and which ones need the help.
There is no medicine that's going to cure you. There is no supplement you could take that's going to fix all your problems. But you need an analysis to figure out where your weaknesses are. If you can handle the bad times
now, your brain's at a high level. We treat a lot of concussion, a lot of concussion, and if we don't fix the brain before they hit their head again, that concussion gets much worse. So we see the store all the time where somebody hits their head and they get a little Disney's little headache, goes away, they feel fine, but then a couple months later they hit their head again, not nearly as bad. The impact is much less, but the symptoms are ten times worse and the recovery is ten
times longer because they never healed the brain in the first place. So if you hit your head and your symptoms went away, it doesn't mean the brain damage went away. Symptoms are the first thing to go away. So if you ever hit your head, you ever had a slip and fall, you ever had a concussion, you ever had a car accident, you ever had a sports injury, fell on the ice, fell down the stairs, you ever hit your head, and you're not even having symptoms. Now you still
want to analyze your brain. I wrote a book Concussion Discussions, where you could hit your head as eighteen year old, you know, playing sports. But then forty years later, now the memory starts happening. So you might be, you know, fifty eight years old and all of a sudden, your memories. Let's go. When you stay up, I'm just getting older. No nothing to do with old age. You never healed your brain when you were a teenager. Alzheimer's takes forty years to develop. Parkinson's takes forty
years to develop. Right, Muhammad Ali did not just get Parkinson's right away. It took years to develop, but he never healed his brain from his boxing matches. If you never heal the brain, you'll never function better, feel better, and live a better life. This is doctor Eric Kaplan.

It is vital if you've ever hit your head or ever got into an accident or an injury. Here an MBA get your brain
checked out. You have to see where your weaknesses are. You might not realize you have these issues. You might not understand what it's manifesting to in your real life. You might just blame age on your poor memory or focus, but it's not. You just got to do the work. And if you come to me with focus, I'm not the doctor that's gonna prescribe riddling, right, that's not what I do. I'm not gonna give you these pills that most doctors do. I don't agree with that way of treatment,
especially if we're talking about children with developing brains. If you're developing your brain and you take one of these add medications that will literally mess up your brains development. The younger you are, the more dangerous the medication can be, and it could even lead to later abuse of drugs and alcohol. So I've seen this. A lot of these children that take these add medications end up being addicts when they become adults because it triggered this connection in their brain.
Your brain's developing, it's very important not to put any substances in your body. Don't drink alcohol before your brain's developed, don't smoke pot before your brain's developed. Don't take prescription pills before your brain's developed. You have to wait to your brains fully developed. Then you could see where your problems are.
Maybe you have troubles with focus because your brain's not fully developed yet. So after your brain's fully developed, and for a female it's usually around sixteen years of age, and for a male it's usually around twenty two years of age, now you can see do you have a real issue after the brain's fully
developed. But why are you gonna take a medication for the part of the brain responsible for focus and attention and not getting distracted if that part of the brain isn't even developed and you think that pill is gonna develop your brain. No, growing up develops your brain. Your brain develops on its own. We don't need doctors and pills and herbs to speed up the process. It
doesn't work. Think outside the box. Stop medicating your children. When I was going up, if you were sick, you just stay at home and that's it. You can go to the doctor, you can get medication. You can take pills. When you have a fever, that's your body heating up to kill off the virus or the bacteria. Why are you going to take a medication to bring down your fever. Now the virus or bacteria, or parasite or worm, they could thrive. You've given them an opportunity.
If you have pain, that's your body protecting you from moving a certain way. Don't take a painkiller or a muscle relaxer. Now you're going to further injure your nerve or your muscles or your bones. Now you have to keep taking more tile. No aspirin, ibuprofen. That stuff's not safe. Just because it's over the counter doesn't make it safe. Don't go into CBS. There's nothing you should get there. Not a supplement, not an advil, not a hand lotion, not a soap, not a detergent, not a
shampoo, not candy and gum. There's nothing healthy in CBS. Don't ever go in there. You don't need it. Stay away, and don't buy anything on a commercial. Right, what's on a commercial? Pop Tarts, frosted flakes, Coca Cola, bud Light, medication, McDonald's. That's what commercials. You don't see a kal commercial. You don't see a cucumber commercial. You don't see an orange commercial. You've seen orange juice commercial. Don't drink orange juice. Juiceing is bad. Eat the whole orange. Don't take
vitamin CEA. Why is everyone taking vitamin sea? Eat fruit, Have some citrus, orange, lemon, lime, have some berries, have some carrots. Get your colors of the rainbow and you'll get all your vitamins. Stop taking vitamin C. Are you deficient? Do you have scurvy? That's vitamin D deficient. We see that in Africa and India, in poor countries. We do not see that in America. You're not vitamin C deficient. Unless you are, you gotta look at the blood work. But don't think you
are now. If you're doing it for your immune system, there's more important things. Vitamin D. Most people's immune system is weak because their vitamin D is low, not because their vitamin C is low. And some people, yes there's zinc is low. If your zinc is low, okay, but maybe you know have some oysters. Try and get it naturally first, Try and eat your fruits and veggies, or eat your products, your animal products that have zinc or B twelve or iron. Don't get it through a supplement.
Get your vitamin D through this sun. Vitamin D is actually a hormone. It's not a vitamin who. It's very good for your thyroid, very good for your brain, your metabolism, your mood. How many people are suffering from anxiety and depression right now. It's an epidemic and it was caused by our own government when they put us in fear mode COVID nineteen. They created all this anxiety. They put these fear in these kids. No kids
in New Jersey died from COVID. I think there was maybe one kid and the whole pandemic that died who already had leukemia or cancer of some sort, and he just died with COVID, not from COVID. But they put all these kids in fear, and four years later these kids have anxiety disorders, panic disorders. They isolated, say hey, stay six week, six feet away from your friends, wear masks so they can't see your facial expressions.
Do homeschool learning so you don't have to go in public. Everything was virtual. Social isolation will create depression and anxiety and mood disorders. That's why in jail, no one wants solitary confinement. It's the worst punishment you can have. People would rather sleep next to murderers than be in solitary confinement. So
the social isolation has created these mood disorders. I'm writing a book right now called Boost Your Brain Power, The Eight Essentials to Conquering Anxiety without medication. It should be done by the end of the year. But anxiety, depression, these are mood disorders. They're going through the roof. And they're not just in adults now. Now they're in kids at teenagers and adolescents, high school kids and middle school kids. And now they're abusing drugs and alcohol and
having suicidal thoughts and tendencies. Now they're being put on all these antidepressants and anti anxiety pills. If their brains developing, that's super dangerous. It's dangerous if you're an adult, but imagine how dangerous it is if you're a kid. You're messing up those signals. You want proper brain development, not influenced by neuro drugs, by drugs that can affect your mood. What's the side effect of these medications? Oh, it may cause anxiety, it may cause
heart palpitation, it may cause violent tendencies. A side effect may be suicidal thoughts. Then why might I take a drug for anxiety and depression. If it cause anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, violent tendencies, sometimes the cure is worse than the condition. Vitamin D has been proven to be just as effective, if not more effective, in reversing depression than antidepressants. Exercise does have been proven through neurosigns to reverse depression. Vitamin D, exercise, social
behavior will all help with depression. But you gotta do the work. If you don't do the work, you'll never get the results. You gotta be the one percent. Stop doing what everyone else does. If you eat crappy food like everyone else does, and you scroll on Facebook like everyone else does, and you sit on your butt like everybody else does, and you're on the computer all day, and you drink alcohol and you do drugs, you're gonna end up like everybody else. So if you're the one percent, you're
the one that eats healthier. You stay away from the sugar and the dairy products and all the bread products and all the corn popcorn, tortillas, chips that's all genetically modified, and they have a protein in this corn that creates this autoimmune disease that affects your skin, your brain, your thyroid, your
gut. Stay away from the corn and stay away from the soy, the coffee, the alcohol, the dairy products, the gluten products, because these all create inflammation, and if you have too much inflammation, then your body's not gonna function better, feel better, and live a better life. eighties, there wasn't this epidemic of obesity. And now with these drugs, this ozembic and these diabetes medications, people think, oh, I could just get fat and just take this pill. That is scary. And guess what. Ozembic and those medications, they're not taking away fat. They're actually taking away muscle mass. And that's gonna make your body weaker. It's gonna make your bones weaker, make you more likely to get osteoporosis. It's gonna make
your brain weaker, more likely to get dementia and Alzheimer's. It's gonna make your stomach weaker, more likely to have Literally your stomach can blow up from these drugs. They don't tell you that. So your stomach gets weaker, your brain gets weaker, your muscles get weaker. Yes, and then you look a little skinnier. But are you actually losing fat or you're losing muscle mass, tone strength. It's not worth it. You can lose weight naturally.
I know. It's the summer. Everyone wants to look good in their bathing suit. So start doing these simple weight loss techniques. Number one, intermittent fasting. Only eat from ten am to six pm during the day. Now, if you're a night worker, that's totally different. And if you are a night worker, I would quit and get a day job. It's not worth your health. I don't care how much money they pay you. Money means nothing if you're not healthy. Steve Jobs had all the money in
the world, but he cannot cure his cancer. Money does not buy health, and he would trade all his millions of dollars to be healthy and to be alive. Right, So it's not worth it. Get a day job and get less money if you have to. Now, if you're a normal nine to five work that's what you gotta do. You eat ten to six when you need your energy. Then you fast from six pm to ten am. You want four hours before bedtime of no food. If you want to
lose weight, you cannot eat for the four hours before bedtime. So if your bedtime is ten pm, stop eating by six pm. No snacks, only water. If that's the only thing you did, you would lose weight. I had a patient. The only thing she did to lose weight was go to bed early. So I told her she's got to sleep from ten to six. So what did she do? She changed her bedtime from twelve
midnight to ten pm. And then she calls me. She says, Doc, I've lost about five pounds a month just by going to bed two hours early. And it took her three months, and she lost the fifteen pounds that she wanted to just by going to bed earlier. I've had patients that just lost weight doing the ten to six inner Mitten fasting. Now, if you do the ten to six intermitten fast you go to bed by ten and you eat the earth diet. What's the earth diet is just eating real food.
Imagine your hunter gatherer. There's no grocery store, it's no supermarket, there's nothing in cans and boxes, there's no processed foods. All you can eat is from the earth. So you grab that apple from the tree, You pull out that carrot from the ground, You eat that blueberry off the bush, grab some of those nuts from the trees, grab an egg from the nest, catch a fish, anything from the earth that's not processed and not in a can or a box or a bag. In the middle of
the supermarket in the aisles. Stay on the outside where everything's fresh. That's why I love to go into Lancaster County in Pennsylvania, where the Amish are. Everything you eat is picked that morning. It's fresh. There's no preservatives, there's no food dies. They don't use all these round up pesticides, herbicides, all these chemicals, artificial flavors, artificial food does, artificial sweeteners. Everything's real, and that's why they're healthy. That's why they're skinny,
that's why they're happy. You think Instagram and five G makes you happy. You think getting a bunch of likes on your Facebook post gets you happy. No social interaction gets you happy. Helping others get you happy. Exercising gets you happy, eating a healthy diet, going to bed, drinking water, playing, having fun. Everyone's too serious. You got twenty four hours in a day. Eight hours should be sleep, that's your ten to six.
Eight hours should be work. You're nine to five and eight hours should be fun. Have some fun with your kids, with your spouse, with your friends, play some sports, laugh a little bit. Stop being so serious. Turn off the news. I don't want to hear about the presidential debate. These are the two best people we have. I don't want to hear about it. I don't want to hear about the war in Iraq and Israel. I don't want to hear about it. Now, if you're gonna go
to Israel, you're gonna help people. Are you gonna go to Ukraine and help people? You know? I had a friend, he's a chef. He went to Poland and he cooked meals for the people in Ukraine who weren't getting food. That he was doing something. Watching the news isn't doing anything, all right, So if you're to do something, great, But if you're not gonna do anything, don't stress yourself out just by watching the news and be like, oh, I'm informed by all these people getting bombed.
That doesn't help the world. Do something that helps the world. Don't just complain. That doesn't help. So turn off the news. Unplug what's on the news. Oh, two people got stabbed in a bodega in the Bronx. Oh somebody was shot on the subway. Oh there's a crime spree in the city. Oh the homelessness through the roof. Oh there's natural disasters and fires and earthquakes and tsunamis and hurricanes. Oh, there's racism and police brutality
and all these horrible There's diseases and covid and the flu and pneumonia. There's a measles epidemic. Now the bird flu's coming. Whenever you turn on the news, they're putting you in fear. That is not good for your brain. Then your brain's gonna be stressed. It's gonna have increased cortisol. Now, how do you know a lot of people say, oh, I watch the news and I can handle it, and then I do a brain scan. I see their cortisol levels are through the roof, and they think they're
fine. So how do you know? You gotta do a brain scan. The best brain scan is called a qEEG brain mapping.
