There are lots of ways to boost your brain power, but the main three ways come through exercise, nutrition, and novelty.
We always want to do new things. That's the most important thing to improve memory and focus is to keep challenging yourself and do new things, and that includes new foods to eat. Don't always eat the same menu every week. You have to change it up. You need colorful foods. You need a wide variety proteins and fats and fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds and
beans and animal products and anything that the Earth has to offer. Okay, just make sure it's the cleanest, healthiest type of food you can get. Unfortunately, in America we have the worst food on the planet. It's much better to go to a third world country where everything's food is organic. Here we label it organic. Everywhere else it's just food. It's the non organic food stuff with all the chemicals and the pesticides and the herbicides round up glyphosate.
You know, this thing is banned in almost every country because it causes cancer, neurological disorders, autoimmune disease, allergies, inflammation, leaky god, the list goes on and on. This is what they spray all your fruits and veggies with. So what you want to do is make sure when you come home after the supermarket, when you shop, put all your fruits and veggies in a big bowl of water. Stick some bacon soda in it. Let it soak for an hour and it will help to leach out all the
bad chemicals and all the bad stuff that's on your fruit and veggies. Then for out the water, wash the fruit, get everything off, and then you could store it in glass containers, not in plastic, but in glass because the glass will make it last. Glass last. Plastic leaches into the food and then the mold grows quickly. So you know, we get a lot of plastics in our body, from the water, to the food containers, to the storage containers, to you know, plastics everywhere in the plastic
bags. You know, we have to really stay away from those plastics as much as possible. Start using glass bus it's not good for the environment, it's not good for your health. It'll save you money. You just reuse glass plastic. You have to keep rebuying glass to a one time investment. Just don't break it. But you gotta stay away from those plastics. It disrupts your hormones. A lot of people have hormone issues. It's because they
have a lot of plastic bottles. Stay away from the plastic. Just get a nice filter for your apartment or your house, and then add some pink and landsort Celtic sea salt that gives it the minerals. Right, But stop buying plastic water bottles. It's too expensive, it's not good for your health, and it's not good for the environment. You can improve your brain function with proper nutrition. It's not that difficult. Just pretend like you're a hunter
gatherer. If you can't pick it up off a bush or a tree, or the roots from the ground where you can't catch it. If it doesn't come directly from the earth, don't eat it or else you're not eating food. Stop taking all these supplements. You know you think there's what it is. Everyone by prevagen right, If there was a supplement that cured everyone's brain and everyone improved their memory. That wouldn't everyone just take this supplement and everyone
would have good memory. Doesn't work. There's nothing that works. There's no medicine. There's no supplement that's going to cure any condition or else. That product wouldn't exist. Think about it, right, If there was a drug that cured heart disease and everyone would just take this drug, no one would have heart disease, and then there's no more patience. There was a drug that cured cancer, everyone would just take it and no one would have cancer.
But then no patience, No patience for the hospitals, no patience for the doctors, the insurance companies, no patience. They don't want you healthy because then there's no customer. So stop listening to mainstream media, stop listening to the government, stop listening to the pharmaceutical companies. How come pharmaceutical companies are allowed to be on commercials. They're banned in every other country besides America and New Zealand. I don't know why New Zealand allows it, but no
countries allow advertising for the pharmaceutical products, and why should they. It shouldn't be up to a commercial to tell you what drug to take. It shouldn't be to the government to tell you what drug to take or what to mandate. I don't believe in drug mandates. That is not cool. How did they know how your health is. Your health is between you and your doctor,
nobody else. I don't want the government dictating what I want. I don't want the commercial telling me. Ask my doctor if this drug is good for me. Drug commercials should be banned. The doctor will tell you what drugs you need to take, not a commercial. And half the commercials all the side effects. Well, they actually have an interesting rule with the pharmaceuticals where if the commercial doesn't tell you what the drug is for, then they
don't have to list all the side effects. So these are the commercials. You see the happy couple running on the beach, holding their hands with their dog and smiling in the sun and so happy and joyful. Ask what lexapro can do for you? And then you do ask your doctor, oh, what is lexapro? Does that make me feel happy? Yes it does. And twenty five percent of the patients that ask about a drug that they saw on the commercial, they end up leaving with that prescription. So they put
a lot of money in these commercials. That's why every time you see commercial, at least one of them is the drug commercial. They're pushing those drugs. They want your they want your clients, they want your money. They need their drug addicts. Never buy anything on a commercial, whether it's a pharmaceutical product or Dorito's or frosted flakes, Coca Cola, McDonald's, bud Light. What's on a commercial all unhealthy stuff. Have you ever seen a kal
commercial? Have you ever seen a cucumber commercial? Have you ever seen a blueberry commerci show? No, people know blueberries are healthy, so they don't need a commercial. You're not going to see an orange commercial, but you'll see an orange juice commercial, so the orange juice is trying to convince you that their product is healthy. You'll see milk on commercials. They hire their celebrities with their milk mustaches. They tell you milk it does a body good,
Milk makes your bone strong, Milk gives you calcium. They're all lies. Don't believe it. Milk doesn't give you calcium unless you are a baby cow or a caw, then milk gives you calcium. You know what babies need is mother's breast milk. Do you know what adults don't need milk. Milk is for babies, and human milk is for human babies. So not only does it not make sense for kids or adults to drink any milk or have any milk products such as yogurt or cheese, or ice cream or pizza
or sour cream or cottage cheese, creamy sauces. Stay away from the cheese, Stay away from yogurt and dairy and creamy sauces. Milk products are the worst thing you could put in your body. You're not a baby be cow, and don't drink sheep milk. You're not a baby sheep. And don't have goat milk. You're not a baby goat. It's not rocket science.
God gave us this amazing world and earth to live on, and there's plenty of fruits and veggies and whatever we need, whether it's chicken or fish or eggs, whatever you want, it's there for you, and I'll help you be healthy. Whether you're vegan, whether you're a carnivore, whether you do keto or palio, whether you do atkins, whether you do it by your blood type, whether you do intermittent fasting, whatever the latest fad is, I will help you do it in a healthy way. It's not that complicated.

Proper nutrition will improve brain function, and there's all types of ways to do. But it's not only what foods you eat, but when you eat now, your brain needs to cleanse itself of all the bad cells. Now you have in your body bad cells and good cells. Right now in your gut, you have good bacteria and you have bad
bacteria. If you ever take antibiotics, that's gonna kill off the bad bacteria, but it's also gonna kill the good bacteria, so that even when you stop taking the antibiotics, now your gut microbiome is deficient of healthy gut bacteria. So you need to a line of shit with probiotics, and not just one probiotic over and over again. You need to change probiotics every two months because each bacteria have a different task and they have a different job to do.
So if you keep taking the same probiotic over and over and over, it doesn't do you any good. So every two months you have to switch to a different strain. Different types of bacteria very important. Some bacteria are gonna help fight the bad bacteria. Some bacteria are gonna help fight the bad viruses or parasites or worms, or others are gonna help with digestion or others are gonna help with your immune system. Others are gonna help with your lungs.
Others are gonna help with your heart, and others are gonna help with your brain, and others are gonna help with your eyes, and others are gonna help with your energy, and others are gonna help with your detoxification, and others are gonna help with your absorbed shain and others are going to help to make sure you get the oxygen. There's all different ways that your body works to improve its function. So there's no one magic bacteria that does all
the jobs of the entire body. So make sure you keep switching and if you take antibiotics, what you want to do is take the probiotics in the middle, meaning if you have to take your antibiotics at eight am and eight
pm. You're going to take your probiotics at two pm, right in the middle, because if you take your probiotics at eight am and then you take your antibiotics at eight am, you're just killing off all that good bacteria did so in between each one to keep your body healthy while you're taking the antibiotics, make sure you take probiotics, and then afterwards, oh yeah, double
up, and you got to take a lot you know. I don't really recommend a lot of supplements, but probiotics are very important, especially these days since the Code nineteen pandemic. Everyone is anti bacteria or crazy with your purel everything and the antibacterial lotions and antibacterial sprays and the antibacterial soaps and anti bacterial cleaning products. So it's like it was actually good when we were exposed to
bacteria because it built our immune system. Now, since they isolated us and antibacterial everything and hide from all viruses and bacteria and put the mask and don't get exposed, we've weakened our immune systems and it might have a generational impact. Don't follow the rules of what everyone else is telling you. It's never right. I mean, when I was growing up, they told me about the food pyramid. Oh, drink lots of milk and cheese, and have
all these grains and gluten and dairy. He said, have lots of that stuff. That was wrong advice. And what was on the top of the pair, They said, they don't have any fat. Fat is bad. That's completely incorrect. Your brain is mostly fat. Your nerves are covered in fat. We need fat more than anything, but good healthy fat from avocado, from olives, from walnuts, from a small fish, from organic free roaming eggs, from organic coconut oil, nice good chia seeds. There's lots
of good, healthy fat out there. Don't eat the fat of a steak. That's not healthy fat. Don't eat milk fat that's not healthy fat. It's more fruits and veggie fat that we like, or the fish. Get those a mega threes and the nuts, the seeds, the MCTA oils medium chain triglycerides MCTA oil. That's healthy fat. Now there's very few healthy oils. Those seed oils are very unhealthy. Those vegetable oils, corn oil, soybean oil, canola oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, vegetable oil soybean
oil. Stay away from all that crap. And if you go out, guess what the restaurants are using all that crappy oil. There's really only two good oils to cook with, avocado oil or coconut oil. And there's really only one good oil to eat, which is olive oil. Actually you can eat coconut oil too. Olive oil and coconut oil you could eat and then you could cook with avocado oil or coconut oil. But other than that, stay away from all these oils. If you buy mayonnaise, it's got a
crappy oil in it's probably like canola oil. Look at your ingredients. You want mayonnaise, you gotta make it yourself with avocado oil and organic, free range, no genetically modified corn, diet chicken. And if they say cage free, that means they might be in a little room too. Cage Free isn't good. It's gotta be free roaming, no antibiotics, no steroids, no hormones. You want it raised in good conditions where they're exercising, they're
with their family and friends, they're having a good old time. If you separate the animal from their family, they become depressed. And if you eat a depressed animal, you become depressed. If you eat an anxious animal, you become anxious. If you eat a fat animal, you become fat. You need a healthy, happy, fit, nutritious, good mood, healthy, vibrant animal. And if you don't have that kind of animal, don't eat it, because then you're causing trouble. And it's hard in America.
I know it's hard. We're very limited. So if you have the capabilities of growing your own food, start doing it. If you could raise your own chickens, start doing it. Start learning how to plant and garden, get that green thumb, learn how to grow your own food. And you save a lot of money too. And all you know, all the stuff that is already there for you. Seeds are really cheap. Just make sure they're quality, organic, ancient. You're don't genetically modified, you don't cross
breaded seeds. You want a good quality source. It's a nutrition is key. Staying on the outside, eating all the colorful foods. You want to get all the colors of the rainbow, so you get all your nutrients. You don't need a multi vitamin. Stop taking multivitamins, Stop taking calcium. Because you're older, you don't drink milk. It's ridiculous. You're only going to take calcium if you're really deficient. Now, most people are deficient in
stomach acid and they don't absorb their nutrients properly. So even if you're taking these supplements, you're not even absorbing it because you don't have good stomach acid. I can't tell you how many patients look at their blood work and it's so obvious that they don't have enough stomach acid. They're not absorbing their nutrients. In America, we're not nutritionally deficient. There's so much food. Everyone's like, Oh, I'm be twelve deficient, I'm magnesium deficion I'm calcium deficient.
I gotta take multi vitamins. I gotta take B complex and C and A D and E. It's like, people take all these vitamins and vitamins. Why stop taking all these vitamins. You don't need it. It's not healthy. If you were healthy, you wouldn't take vitamins. You wouldn't need them. Don't think by taking vitamins and supplements and herbs that makes you healthy. It doesn't. It makes you unhealthy. It makes sense. We're not in the Jetsons where your food is a pill. This is real life.
Enjoy real food. Don't get nutrients from a pill. As long as you eat each color of the rainbow, you're gonna get your nutrients. And if you're not sure, you do blood work and you can figure out if you have any nutritional deficiencies, and you'll be surprised how little nutritional deficiency you have. You don't need all these supplements. They're full of impurities and fillers and toxins and contaminants and they don't even get it absorbed properly. Don't ever buy
a supplement from CBS, Vitamin Chop, GNC, Whole Foods. It's all crap, all this mass produced. There's no nutrition there. You're not gonna get it. You need more, and not buy medical doctor because they're not trained in nutrition. I want you to take the least vitamins, the least herbs, the least

If you want to be healthy, you stay away from the hospitals, you stay away from the doctor's office. All your healing power is within. about sugar, but it's not just sugar, it's the sugar replacements. Right, So now you have all these gums, none of them have sugar anymore, but they're all sugar replacements. They got aspar team and they got you know, all this stuff like the splendid and the sweet and low and all these crappy chemical artificial sweeteners which are not only gonna not save you from diabetes, but they're also gonna cause heart disease and cancer. So stay away from
these artificial sweetness and stay away from sugar. You don't want diabetes type two, which is adult onset diabetes getting from eating too much sugar and carbs starches with a sedentary lifestyle. Now, if you have diabetes type two, you're a lot more likely to at Alzheimer's disease. In fact, they're gonna call Alzheimer's disease diabetes type three because it's like a combination of diabetes type two and
diabetes type one. So if you don't want Alzheimer's and you don't want dementia, and you want to keep your brain strong and healthy, you gotta make sure you don't have diabetes. You gotta look your blood work. What's your hemoglobin A one C that should be under five point seven. What's your fasting glucose, which is your glucose with not eating food. If you do blood work, don't eat that same day, then the fasting glucose won't be accurate
and you won't know if you have diabetes. So you have to do it fasting, and you want it under one hundred. So if you're over one hundred or over five point seven, then you're more at risk for diabetes, and you're more at risk for Alzheimer's disease. Don't believe the lie that people's memories get worse with age. It's not true. Your memory can get better with age. It is a lie. People say, Oh, I'm just getting older, my memory is not as good. As it used to be.
It has nothing to do with getting older. In fact, your brain should be better as you get older, because what you want to do is clear out all the bad brain cells. After the age of forty, you lose ten percent of your brain cells every decade of your life. But what you want to do is just clear out those bad brain cells, those ones that were doing a bad job, those ones that were abused, abused by sugar or alcohol or drugs or medication, or inflammatory foods or stress, or
chemicals or heavy metals or viruses or bacteria. So we have these bad brain cells and we got to cleanse them out. And after forty you could start to cleanse out those bad brain cells. We have these glial cells. I call them the nurses because they clean out all the bad stuff. And when they clean it out the most is when you're not eating. So a good strategy to do is to stop eating four hours before bedtime. That way your brain can clear out all the bad stuff. And if you really want to
clear it out. You know, if I had a loved one that had Parkinson's or Alzheimer's or some neurodegenerative disease, and I wanted them to really cleanse out their brain. We use a process called autopogy. Auto is self. Phegi is eat, so autopogy means eat self. And at night or during a fast, you can create autopogy where you cleanse out all these bad brain cells, clear them out, and then those good ones that you're keeping make
them more connected. It's called neuroplasticity. You can rewire your brain to make it stronger, but you got to challenge your brain. You got to do novelty, new exercise. You got to learn new things as you get older. Learn a musical instrument, learn a new language, learn a new dance move and how to sculpt or learn how to do carpentry, Learn how to garden, Learn how to make a fire, learn how to filter water. Learn how to change a tire, Learn how to put up a shelf,
learn how to put a desk together, learn some computer programming. Learn something that's going to be valuable in your life. Okay, and also maybe do something social. You know, if you could learn with a friend or a family member or a loved one, and if you can learn with exercise. Right, So let's say take your loved one and take a tangle lesson in the park with the sun and the oxygen with other people, with music and good healthy food and healthy water. That would be the best. You're covering
all the different ways to improve your brain function. Now getting back to autopogy. To really get autology where you cleanse those brain cells, you have to do it for a minimum of forty eight hours straight. So if you just fast for twenty four hours, it won't work. So when I want to do autopogy, I'm going to do from Friday night after dinner and I'm going to do it until Monday morning. So you're really only fasting two days Saturday
and Sunday. And during those days you don't want to be doing all this activities and going around and working. When you do autopogy, you want to be in a relaxed state where you can just chill out, go in your backyard, read a book, just drink water. That's a water fast. But get your minerals with your pink Kimelayan salt or your Celtic sea salt. That's a water fast. Now you've got to do it in a safe environment. You don't want to be driving around all the time. That's dangerous.
But if it could be chilled and relaxed. That's a great time to do autopogy. You cleanse your brain. That to be consistent. It's also going to do intermittent fasting four hours before bedtime. You cleanse your brain, you digest your food. If you eat at eight o'clock and you go to bed at ten, you have all this undigested food. Now you're lying down horizontally, and that's gonna make digest it even harder, and it's not gonna be
efficient. You're not gonna get in that rest and digest that you want. So you want four hours before bedtime is the last time you should eat, especially if you have poor digestion, if you have siliac disease, it with a bowel syndrome, lco rat of colitis, gastritis, acid reflux, leaky gut, if you have bloating, nausea, diarrhea, constipation. There are
so many different types of intestinal or gut issues. SEEBOW is now the latest one where they're giving everyone these breath tests and say you have this small intestinal bacteria overgrowth, and then they like to put you on antibiotics and and sometimes see what was so simple? I have these so many patients they have these problems with their Illeo secull valve where the food's getting stuck between the small intestine and the large intestine. And we just do this wo manipulation and are able
to push the food through and save them a world win. Of all these tests and kolonoscopies and endoscopes and all these horizons cat scans, it's ridiculous. You don't need all that stuff. Stop seeing so many doctors, Stop seeing so many tests. The healthiest people are the ones that see the least doctors. And that's my goal with all my patients is to get rid of all your doctors, get rid of all your medicine, get rid of all your
supplements. Start living in a natural way, in a holistic, integrative way. Live from the earth. Everything is on the earth. We could get it all for free. You could grow your own food. The sunlight is free, the water is free, the oxygen is free. The food can be free. You don't need anybody or anything to live a healthy life. You don't need a fancy gym membership to exercise. You could do it on your own. Be so healthy with no money. I belonged to a bunch
of gyms, but when they closed it down, for COVID. I literally just went in my backyard. I found all different rock sizes and different weights, and they used rocks as my weights, and I used the big tree branches and trunks as my you know, bench press bars, and my uh for my squats and lunges. And I just ran in the street and on the grass and it was amazing. I never liked running until COVID nineteen happened. And I'm like, Oh, they closing gyms, they say stay inside.
I'm going outside and I'm exercising. I don't listen to what the government tells me about health. Look at them, they're not healthy. They're all sick, and they're sick in the head. They definitely did my services. There's a test. It's called the Mocha test Moca Mocha. Everybody around the world, especially neurologists, does this test to figure out if you might have dementia, you have some brain issues, some memory problems. It's a quick, easy test. It's only it takes a few minutes to do, and
you get a score out of thirty points. If you score above twenty six out of thirty, then you have a good healthy brain. If you score below twenty six, then you might need some help. And I guarantee if we did this test on President Biden, for example, he would fail the Mocha test because he wouldn't know the answers to this brain test. He wouldn't know all of them and he wouldn't get above at twenty six. But you should see what you should get right. It doesn't matter what he will get
at. What do you get okay, but you need kind of a partner to do it so they can ask the questions for you right, and then you there's different types, so you could do if you want to switch and someone tests you when you test, just do version one, version two. The most important thing is to boost your brain power is healthy nutrition, novelty, doing new
things, an exercise, but all types of exercise. Physical exercise doesn't have to be the gym. Go for a run, go for a walk, go for a hike, go for a bike, ride, play some soccer play, some pickle ball, play, some tennis play, some basketball, the rollerblading, take a dance class, do some zoomba. It could be anything, but get your body active. Get your heart beaten fast. Get a little sweat, Gulling, get a little shortness of breath, get a
little fast heartbeat, Golling. We need some exercise every single day. Do something, even if it's just running to the end of your block, just for ten seconds and you breathe a little heavy. Just do something. You gotta move your body. You'll move it or you lose it. And if you want your brain to be healthy, get off your butt. Stop sitting down. Everybody sits down for everything. You know. You wake up and
you sit down at the breakfast table. Then you sit in your car and drive to work, or you sit on the bus to work, and then you sit at the computer at work, and then you come home and sit at the dinner table and eat dinner, and then you go sit on the couch and watch TV, and then you go to bed. It's all sitting, even if you're trying to do something fun and social. You sit at the movie theater, you sit at the restaurant, you sit at the bar, you sit at the play, you sit at the opera, you sit
at Lincoln Center. Everything's sitting. Start choosing activities that get your body moving, get you laughing, have some fun. Everyone's so serious these days. We gotta have some fun. Laughter is the best medicine. Turn up the news it's too serious. Listen to a comedian or a funny podcaster. You gotta laugh and don't be so fender with everything. That will cause stress and that takes years off your life. Everyone's too stressed out. Stop worrying about
other people. Think about your life and your health and what you can do. Always put your health first. When you go on the airplane, they say, put your mask on first, so you are healthy enough to help other people. That's why I always prioritize my health. If I'm not healthy, then I can't take care of my patience. If I'm not healthy, I can't write my newspaper column. If I'm not healthy, I can't write my latest book. I can't do my radio show. I can't do my
office hours to see my patients. I can't do my seminar series. I need to be healthy so I can share my knowledge with the world so you guys can get better. And I have a big idea. The big idea is that your brain can get better as you get older. Don't believe the life your vision can get better as you get older, What do you think you have to do eye exercises. If you want your vision to get better
as you get older, you have to do eye exercises. If you keep wearing glasses and you keep going on the computer, and you keep going on your cell phone, your vision will get worse. It's not that complicated. If you want your posture to improve, you have to do posture exercises. If you're always looking at your cell phone, looking at your computer, sitting on your office chair, your posture's gonna get worse. If you want your posture to improve, do posture exercises. It's not rocket science. If you
want your memory to improve, you have to do memory exercises. If you want your gut health to improve, you better start eating healthier. You better do some blood work. You better figure out do you have inflammation, do you not have a stomach acid. You've got to get to the root cause of the problem. If you have back pain, you better make sure you have good alignment, or you don't have good muscle spasm, or you don't have compression, or you don't have inflammation. You just kind of figure out
where the problem is and fix it. But you gotta do the work. Don't call me, don't come to me, you don't email me. If you want some quick, easy fix, you just want to pill. You want a drug, some supplement, some herb to fix your brain or to
fix your body. I'm not the doctor for you. second test is called a VNG Video and nostography. This test, you will wear goggles they look like swimmers goggles, and they have infrared cameras and they measure the size of your pupils and the speed and how they go left and right and up and down, and they respond to light and dark and vertical and horizontal and fast and slow. And it measures the balances of each of
the areas of the brain. And it's gonna tell us which areas are overactive reading anxiety and sleep problems and heart palpitations, and which areas are underactive that might cause depression or low motivation or troubles with focus or memory or energy, and you know, stuff that's gonna be underactive. So the VNG is the great tells which underactive, which overactive, Which areas of the brain is it right side, is it left side need the most stimulation, and which needs
to relax. Now, the third test is called a one on one with me, yours truly, doctor Eric Kplan. That's a one on one and this we go over your VNG, We go over your brain mapping, we go over blood work, we go over your memory, your mocha test, we go over your posture, your alignment. We go over your range of motion, your muscle strength, your energy. We check out your heart, your lungs, your gut. We do a full physical takes about forty five
minutes.
