One of the best ways to boost your brain power is to make sure you have the proper nutrition. Remember that you are what you eat. So let's say you eat a cow that is

depressed or anxious. It was just separate, rated from its loved ones. It's family, its children, it doesn't get any exercise or good sunlight. It's fed horrible food, it's taken antibiotics and steroids harm it's miserable. If you eat a cow that's miserable, you become miserable. If you eat a cow that's anxious, you become anxious. If you eat a cow that's depressed, you get depressed. Cows are very emotional. There's a lot of depression

with cows. So how are they being raised? Do you know your farmer where you're getting your meat from. Can they give you an explanation of how they treat the animals on their farm? Are they free roaming Are they grass fed or they organic. It's very important to know the qualitality of your food. Same thing goes for a chicken. If you eat a chicken and it's stuck in a cage and it's full of drugs and antibiotics and hormones, steroids, and it's anxious and it's depressed, and it gets no exercise, no

sunlight, it's fed genetically modified corn. You think you're being healthy by eating chicken. No, If your chicken's unhealthy, you're unhealthy. It's not that chicken's healthy, or fish is healthy or meats healthy. Is how is the health of the animal that you're eating. That's proper nutrition. Same thing goes for human babies when they're breastfeeding from their mother. If the mother's milk is toxic because she doesn't eat right or she's anxious, then the baby is going

to be anxious. If she's drinking coffee and caffeine and breastfeeding, then the baby it's gonna have my heart rate. Maybe they're not gonna sleep very well. The mother's eating a lot of fried food dairy products, then a child will have a lot of congestion or brain inflammation. So it's not just what type of food you're eating, But what's the source. We have to think about that. What about the fish. If they're farm raised, then they're

stuck in this little part of water where they can't swim freely. They're not getting their proper exercise, and that water is probably dirty. They're not getting clean water, they're not getting proper movement, and then they're also probably miserable because they were separated from their family or they're stuck in some jail. Farm Raised are usually injected with certain drugs or food dies to make them look nice. You know, these animal are stuck with hormones, making them grow bigger,

more meat. But if you're eating an animal that has hormones, you're taking hormone therapy. Why do you think we're getting these girls with their periods at eight nine years old? When I was growing up, girls started getting their period around thirteen. That's when it's appropriate. But if it's nine years old, that's premature. It's because they're eating hormones. You have men with men, little boys with mustaches at ten. They're eating food with hormones.

Why a lot of people are bloated and swollen. Steroids have a lot of side effects. So if you eat an animal that's taking steroids, you're taking steroids. You gotta be very careful. You are what you eat. If your animals on hormone, you're on hormones. That's why you can get some of this acne from the food that you're eating. You want to get rid of acne, you gotta clean up your diet. Start with dairy. Dairy's the worst, right, All this milk is full of steroids and hormones and

antibiotics. Plus, dairy is inflammatory. Dairy has been linked to Parkinson's disease. Dairy has been linked to autoimmune disease such as hashimotos siliac. If I have a siliac patient, I'm not only making sure they don't have gluten. I'm making sure they don't have dairy. And I'm also making sure they're not eating gluten free. You have autoimmune disease, you should not eat gluten, but you shouldn't eat gluten free either. Gluten Free is full of crop.

Have you ever had a gluten free broccoli? No? Have you ever had a gluten free cucumber? No? They don't need to tell you those are gluten free. You eat real food, don't eat stuff in boxes and cans and bags, so we want to make sure that there's no processed foods. When they interviewed centenarians, centarians are people that live over one hundred hundred years old, they found a lot of answers of why they believe they lived such a long and healthy life. However, there was two answers that were the

most common with all centarians. Two answers that were most common. Number one is they went for a walk outside every day. The people who are over one hundred who are healthy go outside for a walk every day. When you go outside for a walk, Number one, you're getting exercise. Number two, you're getting sunlight. Number three you're getting oxygen. Those are the big three. Now, if you can combine it with being social, you know, go out with a spouse or a kid, a friend, then it's

even better. And if you can add some so lay water even better as well. So lay water is water with pink Himalayan salt. Pink Amlaine salt has av six minerals. It's like half the minerals ever discovered on the Earth. Earth salt also has a lot of minerals as well. Most of those electrolyte drinks have very few minerals. It's much easier just to make your own

mineral water. So you just get distilled water or reverse osmosis or high duty filter and you put in your minerals yourself with pink kimeleyan salt, just a pinch, doesn't have to be a lot. You don't want it to taste salty, but you want to add those minerals. The minerals help to bring the water into the cells. So if you drink your regular poland spring disani. You know those plastic water bottles, they're not very alkaline. They don't

have a lot of minerals. Even if you buy mineral water, there's not a lot of minerals. If you buy almond milk, there's not a lot of almonds. Don't be fooled by the labels when you're buying food. Don't look at what the label says. Oh, it's all natural and it's organic and it's made from the best stuff on earth. No, don't be fooled by the marketing on the front. You have to look at the ingredients at the back. That is the most important part. And if it's a healthy

food, it's one ingredient that's it. One ingredient. Foods are the healthiest. If you're eating something that's got twenty ingredients, probably not healthy. If you can't pronounce the ingredient, probably not healthy. If it's not even a word and it's just letters, probably not healthy. It's just some number, probably not healthy. You should know what you're putting in your body. Don't fall for these gimmicks where it says, oh, this is sugar free.

Guess what if it's sugar free, there's some sugar replacement that's more toxic than sugar. Right. Those those artificial sweeteners, they don't help with anything. They don't help with diabetes, they don't help with cancer, they don't help with heart disease, they don't help reduce stroke or any neurological disorders. They're toxic. Stay away. So don't buy anything that's sugar free. We already said, don't buy stuff that's gluten free. Don't buy dairy free products.

They have to tell you it's dairy free. It's not good. I know an apple doesn't have any dairy in it. I don't have to buy dairy free apples, right, So you stay away from that sugar free, dairy free, gluten free, fat free. When it's fat free, it's just full of sugar. The fat industry, I'm sorry, the sugar industry knew that they caused a lot of disease, so they made fat evil and they

say, oh, buy all this stuff that's fat free. And everyone was buying this fat free stuff, but it's full of sugar, and then the sugar makes you fat. Fat does not make you fat. So the more fat you eat and the less fat free foods you eat, the less fat you will be. I'll say that again. The more fat you eat and the less fat free foods you eat, the less fat you will be. Now, when I say eat fat, I'm saying healthy fat. You want to eat avocado, olives, walnuts, brazil nuts, seeds, small fish,

eggs, coconut oil. That's healthy fat. I'm not talking about the fat of the steak, or the fat of the poor work or the chicken fat. I'm talking about the healthy fat. Because your nerves are covered in fat. It's called a mile in sheath. So if you have any nerve disorders like diabetes or MS, you want to eat a lot fat, increase your fat and decrease your sugar to function better, feel better, and live

Nutrition is one of the key components to proper brain function. Your brain needs fuel delivery, and what's the fuel delivery system? Number one is food Dude. Number two is oxygen. Number three is water. That's how you get your

brain to function at the highest level. And if you want to prevent Alzheimer's or dementia, the key is to challenge your brain with new activities, novelty. You want to improve your memory, you need to do novelty new things, things you've never done before. Every day ste something that you've never done before in your life. As you get older and older, people stop doing new things. People do not lose their memory because they're getting older. They

lose their memory because they're not doing new things. So you need fuel delivery and novelty new things. Now. The fuel delivery number one is the food you're going to need proper nutrition. For proper nutrition, the healthiest food is on the outside of the supermarket. The unhealthy food is in the aisles. Those are the processed foods. Those are you know, foods that are in boxes and cans and bags. Stay away from the processed foods. Processed foods

were the number two answer for the centenarians. So what I was talking about before is that if they interviewed or when they interviewed all the centarians, people who live older than one hundred, they found the two most common factors were keeping people healthy and live in triple digits over one hundred years old. The two most important factors. Number one was taking a walk every day and number

two was not eating processed foods. All the foods are fresh, and that's why you say on the outside of the supermarket, get your fresh foods, your fresh fruit, your fresh veggies, your fresh nuts. And if you eat, get your fresh fish. That's wild. Wildfish. You want small fish, right, like herring or mackerel, or salmon or sardines. The smaller the fish, the less heavy metals, especially mercury. So the smaller the fish, the less toxins. The bigger the fish, whitefish tune.

The big fish have more of those toxins, more radiation, more heavy metals, more pollution. So we want to stay away from the big fish. And also you want to stay away from fish. In the Pacific Ocean. There was, you know, over twelve years ago, there was that Japan nuclear meltdown, and they're still letting that radiation into the Pacific Ocean. Still

to this day, they're dumping their nuclear waste into the Pacific Ocean. And guess what if you eat a fish that's swimming in radiated water, then you're radiating yourself and you're more likely to get cancer or neurologic issues, autoimmune disease. Might I have all these people that say, oh, I never had allergies to shellfish until a few years ago, because now you're eating radiated food. Don't eat fish or crustaceans or shellfish from the Pacific Ocean. It's full

of radiation. That's why you're getting these new allergies. Okay, when you're gonna eat fish, you're gonna eat it from the Atlantic Ocean or from the Mediterranean or Icelandic or Norwegian. Just stay away from the Pacific. And guess what that includes your Alaskan salmon. Alaska is pretty close to Japan, a lot closer than California. And guess what California has all the radiation from Japan.

So with the fish we want to eat wild, we don't want to eat have it from the Pacific. And these important fat to consider when you're buying your fish. If you eat chicken, right, we said you got to make sure it's healthy chicken, it's free roaming. Okay, you don't want regular fish, They're gonna stick them in this cage and they're not gonna

have any exercise or sunlight, or they're fed these genetically modified corn. And you don't want cage free either, because cage free doesn't mean they're outside, doesn't mean they're free roaming, doesn't mean they're out in the pasture. They could be in some tiny little room, just not in a cage. So don't be fooled when it says cage free, right, don't eat cage free, don't eat sugar free, don't eat gluten free, don't eat dairy free,

and don't eat fat free. They're all marketing scams. Okay, Please start to stay away from these processed foods. You want to live to one hundred, and you want to live to be healthy hundred. We have a good quality of life. The two most important things are taking a walk every day so you get your exercise, your sunlight, your oxygen. And number two is not eating foods with preservatives, eating fresh food every day. Don't

even eat leftovers. If you eat leftover rice that's been in the refrigerator for a day, just one day, you're eating mold. Mold grows on the rice after twenty four hours. So you just cook rice and eat it. Guess where else Mold grows on a cut onion. Don't eat half an onion and then save half the onion for the next few days. Then you'll be eating mold. I don't want to eat mold. Do you want to eat mold garlic? Don't buy cut up garlic. You gotta buy everything fresh.

Garlic will also grow mold. You gotta stay away from the mold cause it's yeast infections, fungus growth, autoimmune disease, leaky gut, skin problems, hair problems. I don't want any of that stuff. So we got to stay away from the mold. Stay away from all the yeast producing foods, all the breads and the gluten, and all the ice and all the grains, the oats and cereals and crackers and muffins and bagels and toasts, croissants

and cookies and cakes. You have yeast infections, you have issues with your nail, those are your hair, your skin. You got digestive problems, got mold problems, got brain fog. Stay away from those foods. The proper nutrition is very important. That's the fuel delivery. We need good healthy, organic food. If you need to save a few bucks and you can't buy everything organic. You can buy this stuff with the large peels non organic, such as an avocado or an orange, or a watermelon or a banana.

Stuff where you don't eat the large out or covering. That way, you'll feel better and live a better life. This is doctor Eric Kaplan more when we come back from the brain. We want to make sure that we give your brain the proper nutrition and that is not found in a pill.

You don't need multivitamins. I'm not sure why everyone takes multivitamins. Where did this come from? Where people are assuming that they need to take multivitamins all the time doesn't make sense. You're not deficient in all these vitamins. How do you know if you're deficient? You gotta do blood work. It's not that hard. You just do blood work and you can look to see, hey, am I calcium deficient, am I B twelve deficient? Am my

vitamin D deficient? And my iron deficient? And my magnesium deficient or calcium or phosphorus or whatever it may. You gotta look in the blood work. If you're not deficient in all those vitamins, why would you take a supplement. You're only gonna take something if you're extremely deficient, and sometimes you might be deficient, not because you're not eating the food, but because you're not absorbing it. We're in America, there is so much food here, you

have no idea. You go to other places in the world, ex food, they don't overeat. They constantly have to be eating something all the time. That's not normal. It's not the way our bodies are designed. You should start going to bed hungry. You don't say, oh, I gotta go to bed on a full stomach. That's the worst thing to do. You want to go to bed on an empty stomach. I recommend not eating four hours before bedtime, So if you go to bed at ten, you

got to be done eating by six. You've got to give your time to digest your food. You don't want to be lying in bed trying to digest your food. That's not going to be efficient because you're taking gravity out of the situation. If you want to help with digestion and sleep position, what you want to do is sleep on your left side. So when you sleep on your left side, then the way the large and testine or the colon is positioned, it's going to push the food down through your transverse colon.

It will just make it a little bit easier. Right that you're transverse colon, it goes to the left, so you might want to sleep on the left if you have digestive problems. Now, with digestion, there's very important things that have to take place, Right, we said, in America, everybody over eats, so it's going to be very rare to have a nutritional deficiency. You're not going to be deficient in vitamins because you guys eat so

much food. And I'm talking to people in America, and I do have listeners in other countries around the world, and it's a little bit different. You know, when I'm saying don't eat these grains, I'm saying in America. You know, my European listeners and my African listeners, my South American listeners, my Asian listeners, a little bit different. Right, Your food is much healthier in America, not very healthy. Ninety nine percent of the

food in America is unhealthy. How sad is that we have all this money and power and resources and land, and it's we're ruining everything. We're poisoning our soil, poisoning all the farmland. We're using all these new seeds, we're crossbreeding, we're doing genetically modified organisms, We're spraying them with roundup, which is banned in all the other countries. The pesticides we use, the herbicides we use, the food dyes we use, the artificial sweeteners, artificial

flavors. Most of this stuff is banned in other countries because they know it's toxic, causes autoimmune disease, causes cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. So other countries care about the health of their citizens. In America, it's too greedy. So people are run by the corporations. They're not run by the government and the corporations which control the food and the drugs. Right, you think the FDA is a government organization Now it's actually run by a lot

of private corporations, such as pharmaceutical companies. I think the CDC is only run by the government now. Most of the CDC is funded by pharmaceutical companies, by the Bill Gates founding shame by you know, people who are interested in making sure that their products are approved and their products make lots of money. Greed runs America. That's why you've got to be very careful about commercials. It's only two countries in the whole world that allow pharmaceuticals on commercials it's

New Zealand and the United States of America. All countries have banned pharmaceutical advertising because drugs shouldn't have to be advertised on television. You go to a doctor and they tell you what you need, not some commercial. These commercials are very tricky, so they have a law in America where if you say what the medication is treating, then they have to tell you all the side effects. Oh, this will cause violent tendencies, suicidal thoughts, will cause your

stomach to explode, This will cause severe anxiety and depression. This will cause big rashes or your penis to shrink. I mean, come on, with these side effects. Half the commercials the side effects. Now there's another rule where if they don't tell you what the medication is for on the commercial,

then they don't have to tell you the side effects. That's those medications where you just see the couple running on the beach with their dog, smiling ocean, so happy, their life is so good, and then at the end, ask what symbalta can do for you? You know, they say,

ask what this medication? Ask your doctor if this medication is appropriate. And they did some research and what they found is that when patients after seeing a commercial went to the doctor and asked about a medication, they actually walked away with a prescription for that medication. Twenty five percent of the time one quarter of the time when they asked about a medication, they got it. So those commercials work, they work on making sure they get you to buy their

product. But if it's a healthy thing on a commercial, or you don't need to put it on a commercial. If that's healthy, because everybody knows it's healthy. Right. Have you ever seen a KL commercial? Have you ever seen a carrot commercial or broccoli commercial. No, you're not going to see that. You're not going to see an orange commercial. You're going to see an orange juice commercial because orange juice is not healthy. Juice is not

healthy. Juicing is not healthy. I'll say it again, Juicing is not healthy. It's much healthier to eat food than to drink it. That's why we have a mouth and a tongue and teeth. Don't mess with God. Eat directly from the earth, break down the food in your mouth. It's good not to use utensils because your digestive process starts immediately when you start touching the food. So get rid of those forks and knives and spoons. Start using your hands. So once you touch a food, that's when the digestive

process starts. Right. So you take a carrot, eat the whole carrot. Take that carrot, hold it in your hand. Don't cut it up into little pieces and eat it with a fork. That's not natural, that's not good for your brain. Eat it whole. Take a whole leaf of lettuce and cut it down with your teeth. Try it. You know you eat an apple hole or a banana hole. Why not eat a carrot hole or celery hoole or lettuce whole. That's the way our bodies are designed.

And eat it with your hands. If you have poor digestion, maybe you have poor eating habits, maybe you're eating right before bed, maybe you're food combining. It's good to eat one food at a time, So eat fruit by itself. And fruit is the easiest food to digest, so you always want to eat fruit as an appetizer. It just gets that digestive process going. It goes through pretty quickly high water content. Don't eat fruit after a meal. That dilutes the enzymes. So you want to eat fruit by itself.

In the beginning of a meal. Then if you have a protein, don't combine it with a carbohydrate. Right, don't eat meat and potatoes, don't eat turkey and bread, don't eat chicken and rice. So eat your chicken by itself. You eat your fish by itself, eat your meat by itself, and then if you want to snack later, then you have some carbs after that. Now vegetables, you know, salad and stuff. You can pretty much eat with everything. They are helped with the digestive process.

But if you really have digested problems, start working on food combining. Eat fruit by itself, eat protein by itself, eat carbohydrates by themselves. They all have different enzymes, so when you start mixing up the enzymes, it's a little bit harder to work. That's one of the reasons people don't digest food properly. The most common reason people do not digest their food properly is

called hypochlorohedria, where they don't have enough stomach acid. We see this all the time, especially if people have taken tombs or rolaids and acids at any point in their life, not just currently but in the past. Right, if you're diagnosed with acid reflux, that's usually the medication they put you on. But the problem is when you have acid reflex, it's not that you have too much acid, it's that your systems aren't working properly. So you

got to work make sure your brain and your nervous system function properly. That way, you won't have to take an assets because if you don't have enough stomach acid that is going to help you to make sure you do not digest food. And if you want to digest your food, you have to make sure you have stomach acid, good enzymes, and good bacteria, and not through supplementation, but through your own body's function. That way you'll feel better

We said you don't need a multivitamin in America. Nobody's deficient in all

these vitamins. If you are deficient in certain vitamins, it's probably most likely due to hypochlorohydria decreased stomach acid. Okay, Now with decreased stomach acid, we have to do blood work to determine if there's an issue there. So the blood work will tell us, Hey, is there problem with your iron or is it actually not an iron deficient problem, but actually a stomach acid issue. Because a lot of times if you're anemic, they just throw you

iron pills, but that's not what you need. Most people have enough iron. Even if you don't eat meat. There's enough iron in your vegetables. Okay, most people, even if you're a vegetarian, aren't going to be be twelve deficient. Okay, it's probably because you are not absorbing properly,

or you might have a folate issue. A lot of people have this what's called a methylated gene mutation where they don't absorb the B vitamins, probably, and then they just keep doing these supplements but not getting to the root cause of the problem, which is this gene mutation. And what you have to

do is to rewire your brain. There's something called epigenetics. Epigenetics means even if you have a gene mutation or an abnormal gene where your parents unfortunately give you something bad like diabetes or cancer or heart disease Alzheimer's, you could actually turn off a bad gene. That's right, that's epigenetics, so your genes do not dictate your future. I don't know if you remember that story when Angelina Jolie, the actress, did genetic testing and found out she had a

breast cancer gene. She literally chopped off her breasts. She said, okay, let me just take them out. That way, I won't get the cancer. Okay, But in my opinion, which is different than most doctors, I get that it's better to get to the root cause and say, Okay, maybe I could prevent cancer. Maybe I could turn off this bad gene through epigenetic processings by altering my environment and having knowledge about cancer. Hey, cancer loves sugar, Make sure I get rid of sugar. Cancer loves

stress. Make sure we reduce stress levels. Cancer loves chemicals. Make sure we eliminate all chemicals. The most toxic chemical is perfume, fragrance. You ever look at some of these products, and they're everywhere fragrance. It's not just in perfume. You'll see fragrance and lotions. You'll see fragrancing hair conditioner and shampoo. You'll see fragrancing suntan lotion. You'll see fragrance in exama cream.

I mean you'll see fragrance in everything. It's not just you know the glade plug in things, or these fabreeze sprays, or you know these candles and incense, and there's fragrance chemicals everywhere. Stay away from anything that says fragrance in it. That's toxic chemicals. It causes cancer, causes brain inflammation. Stay away from fragrance. So many chemicals that we can't avoid. So don't purposely choose and don't spend money investing in things that have fragrance. So

do yourself a favorance. Start looking at the ingredients of everything you eat, everything you put on your body, every lotion, every makeup, every hair dye, every cleaning product. You know, there's fragrance in your fabric softeners and your laundry detergents and your dishwasher detergent. I mean they're everywhere. It's not just your cleaning products, they're everywhere. You know. You could get healthy stuff that have good smells, like using a good quality essential oil and

a diffuser. Okay, but stop using the candles and the sprays and the perfumes and the for breeze and the glades. Stay away, please. You don't want brain inflammation. You want to live a long, healthy life. You gotta make good healthy choices. Okay. Now, if you're not taking multi vitamin right, how are you gonna get all your nutrients? Very simple?
