Function better, feel better, and live a better life. My name is doctor Eric Kaplan, and I am a brain expert. I don't believe that people's memory gets worse as they age. A lot of doctors will say, oh, you're just getting older, and give patience the excuse for their memory to get worse. I
don't believe that's true. Just because it happens to most people doesn't mean it has to happen to you. If you want to end up like the ninety nine percent, why don't you just do what the ninety nine percent does. However, if you want to be the one percent, you want to be the top of the mountain of the people that function best and feel best and live the healthiest life possible, you have to do things that other people don't do. But the good news is it's all under your control. You make
your own health choices. Nobody else makes your choices. You go to doctors and they give recommendations, but it's up to you whether you choose to take that route. I had a dear loved one that was diagnosed with cancer stage three ovarian cancer. It was called a terratoma, and the problem was the doctors caused it to be stage three, And how does that happen? While you ever hear the stories of a patient who goes to the doctor and there is a cyst that they find, Oh, I find assist on my breast
or assist on my ovaries or whatever it is. So with this dear loved one, they found a cyst on her ovary. And what they've said is, Okay, we need to do a biopsy to check to see if it's malignant or benign. Malignant means is bad, they could kill you. Benign means it's not a big deal. It's not going to cause too much harm. So you always want benign. But what the doctors tell you is that
you have to do this biopsy to differentiate whether it's malignant or benign. So when they did the biopsy on the ovary, they popped the cyst that was growing and it exploded and it spread everywhere. So when it's encapsulated and it's on the organ and it hasn't spread, it's stage one. But if it leaves the primary organ and goes to other organs, it becomes you know, stage three and really bad. It could even become stage four. So this
person was diagnosed with stage three ovarian terratoma. However, the only reason it was diagnosed was stage three was because during the biopsy the tumor exploded and when they did the pathology report, it came down as malignant. But that's the problem is that it's only stage three because of the biopsy. So then we lost the trust of these oncologists and they recommended chemotherapy. Not only did they recommend it, they said, if you don't do chemo therapy, you're gonna
die. But she said, no, I don't believe that's true. You're not God. How do you know I'm going to die in four years? Am I? How does the doctor know? What kind of prediction is that you have four years to live? You have two years to live, you have six months to live. That's not cool in my opinion. You can tell the patient, hey, things aren't looking good. I don't know how else to help you, But don't tell the patient you're gonna die. You
tell the patient. I don't know what else to do, Okay, I don't know what else to do. So luckily, this patient or this loved one, listen to me, and she did not do the chemotherapy, and she did it in a natural way, because sometimes the cure is worse than the condition. Sometimes the chemotherapy can cause more problems. Sometimes the biopsy can cause problems. Sometimes all the testing, all these X rays and cat scans
and pet scans, a lot of radiation, mammograns and ultrasounds. And we already have enough radiation with all these cell phones and Wi Fi and microads. Now we're gonna addit everything we got, the dentists in the airport and the airplanes, you got Starbucks. There's so much radiation. You only a mount a certain amount of radiation before it causes problems. So save that radiation from when you need it. Now. This loved one, she actually didn't do
the chemo. She changed her life, and her biggest problem was her stress levels. Stress is the silent killer. Who's gonna tell you stress causes cancer? Not many people. Who's gonna tell you stress causes heart disease? Not many people. People. Stress is linked to every problem. I don't care what it is. If you have neck pain, or headaches or hand tremors or straw business. You know, I have this patient a stra business is a lazy eye, but it only comes out when she's stressed. I have
pay patients with tremors that only come out when they're stressed. Everyone everyone has a different manifestation. You know. Some people don't get good sleep when they're stressed. Some people get anxiety or panic attacks. Some people's blood pressure goes up. Some people have poor bowel movements or constipation. Some people have nause or stomach pain. Some people throw up, and some people get a lazy eye, and some people get a tremor. Everybody's different, but stresses the
silent killer because you don't realize it. You know, if you're smoking cigarettes, people realize, oh, I'm gonna have a chance of getting lung cancer. And people realize if you have a sedentary lifestyle and you eat a lot of fried foods and dairy products and cheese and ice cream and cake and cookies, you're gonna get a greater chance of diabetes. If you eat a lot
of sugar right soda, coffee, that increases your chance of diabetes. If you have a lot of or dyet, poor nutrition, high stress, you're going to have more likelihood of getting heart disease. People understand that, Okay, it makes sense, but do you understand that all of your health issues are going to get aggravated when your increase in stress mode. With heart disease, the number one time people get heart attacks and stroke is Monday morning because
there in stress mode. All right, people have Alzheimer's disease are in stress mode. It is so common to have this stress mode, and especially in New York and Jersey. All right, So when we're trying to help somebody who's got cancer, we got to reduce the stress mode. So this person I was talking about, she was high stress. So she quit her job. She just not stopped, you know, reducing stress by meditating. Yes, that's great. We had to make major lifestyle changes. So she quit
her job. Yeah, she moved out of the city. You know. She went on lots of vacations, got rid of all the chemicals, food dies, makeups, bleaches, the lotions, the nail polish, the candles, the perfume, the fabrize, the glade, all the food dies, all the foods and boxes and cans and bags. She cleaned her water, got a filter for the shower, a filter for the sink. It wasn't easy. She used her imagination visualization. She never said the word cancer.
Don't put that in the universe. If you want to avoid cancer, don't think about cancer. Don't talk about cancer. It's true. Whatever you put in the universe comes back. You know. If you don't want COVID, don't say I don't want COVID. I don't want COVID. You say I want to boost my immune system. You don't want Alzheimer's a dementia. You don't say, oh, I hope I don't get Alzheimer's a dementia. You say I want to improve my memory. Don't say I want to fix my

It's called neuroplasticity. You can actually change your own brain. I don't care what your genetics are. Genetics is the old thinking. Now we talk about epigenetics, and what epigenetics means is that if everyone in your family has Alzheimer's, you you can alter your environment and turn off the Alzheimer's gene. If everyone is cancer, if you alter your environment, you could turn off the
cancer gene. I disagree with what Angelina Joli did. She went into this genetic testing, she found she had this breast cancer gene, and she preemptively did a surgery to remove her breast so she doesn't get breast cancer. Rather than healing from within and saying, you know what, I am not going to get cancer. I'm going to improve my immune system. So my immune system is strong, you can fight off anything. And I could turn off this bad gene that I have, that's epigenetics. Cancer loves sugar, so
if I were her, I would have immediately got rid of sugar. And just like the person I was telling you about before. Reduce all those chemicals, you know, including all the plastics, the cookware, make everything stainless steel, Store everything in glass, glass, and stainless steel. That's the way to do it where it doesn't leach. Don't store things in plastic, don't cook things in plastic. Don't use aluminum foil. Stay away from all
those chemicals cause a lot of inflammation. You want to get better, you got to work at it. You gotta do that one. Don't use aluminum foil, don't use deodorant with aluminum, don't use aluminum cans, don't use aluminum cookware, don't use medicines with aluminum. Don't touch aluminum, not unless you want your brain inflamed. I know, I don't. You could use parchment paper or wax paper. You can use stainless steal cookware. You can
use store of stuff in brown paper bags, in glass containers. Your food will last so much longer. You put like your fruits and veggies and glass containers. Don't put them in plastic containers. Don't drink water out of plastic containers. Drink water out of glass water bottle. Reduce those chemicals. Everything can improve in life your memory, your immune system, your energy, your sleep, your digestion, your skin, your hair, your nails, your
eyesight. Everything can improve. Turn off those bad jeans epigenetics, turn on the good jeans. I have Alzheimer's in my family. My grandma Doddy died from Alzheimer's. I'm probably more predisposed to Alzheimer's. But I don't go around thinking I'm gonna prevent Alzheimer's. I go around thinking, what can I do to boost my brain power, to improve my memory, improve my focus. So that's what I do. That's why I became a brain expert. I
don't want anyone's brain to deteriorate like I saw my Grandma Dotty. She went from this amazing, funny, beautiful, loving, caring, giving woman to the last couple of years I saw her, she was in a diaper, in a wheelchair, and a nursing home, miserable. She wanted to die. I don't want that to happen to you, But you gotta work for it. You gotta be the one percent. You gotta do what other people don't do. You gotta exercise every day. You got to drink the right
amount of water. Half your body weight announces. You gotta go to bed early. You gotta stop reading and looking at the news. Got to reduce your stress. Gotta reduce the chemicals. Gotta stay away from as much medication as possible, Stay away from as much doctors as possible, as much radiation as possible. The healthiest people are the ones that see the least doctors, do the least tests, take the least medicine. They live the longest.
Doctors are the third leading cause of death. It's called diatrogetic causes. You can look it up. It's heart disease, cancer, iatrogenic caused by the doctor, caused by medicines and surgeries. And it's properly prescribed medicine as much bigger then you know drugs on the street. We're talking about medicine from doctors. You know, the War on drugs, you know, they talk about these street drugs. Nobody talks about the prescription drugs that's actually the biggest killer.
They don't talk about prescription drugs when they talk about these school shootings. Every single school shooting was done by someone on prescription drugs. Everyone looks for the guns. How about look at who's on prescription drugs. That's the real killer. It literally says it on the label. May cause violent tendencies, may cause suicidal thoughts. These are side effects of prescription medication. Do not
operate large machinery. You're not supposed to do it on these drugs. So anyone who's on these types of drugs and they shouldn't be allowed guns in their house, not by them or any family members that live with them. So you want to save lives, start looking at who's on these prescription drugs that are going to cause violent tendencies, suicidal thoughts. Those are the ones I'd keep an eye on. Nobody talks about that. Though it's only about gun
control, Why don't we talk about prescription control. That's more important. These pharmaceutical companies, they're powerful. They run the government, the CDC, the FDA, so a lot of these these rules are made to make the pharmaceutical companies more money as opposed to making Americans healthier. So, if you want to do what the news is telling you, what the commercials are telling you, what ninety nine percent of the world is telling you, keep taking all
these prescription drugs. If you want to live longer, healthier, naturally, you have to start decreasing the prescription drugs. You've got to be the one percent. Instead of taking more medicine as you get older, take less medicine as you get older. Don't come to me if you want prescription medications. That's not the type of doctor I am. I'm the type of doctor that's going to teach you how to heal your own body. The power that made
the body heals the body. And you can rewire your brain through neuroplasticity. You could turn off bad genes through epigenetics. You could get your vision better through eye exercises. You could get your muscles stronger by lifting more weights. You could get your heart better by exercising more. I mean, there's simple habits to improve any area of weakness, but you got to figure out what's your area of weakness. The best test to find your area of weakness is

Then those pills interact and cause another side effect, and then fall onto this trap, a never ending cycle of more pills and keep changing, keep increasing the dose, keep trying new things, where you're just a guinea pick. We don't want you to do that. We want you to take less pills, rely on less doctors. And I'm a doctor and I don't want to keep seeing my patients more and more. I want to see them less and less. That's
my whole goal, is a doctor. It's like, what can I do to get the patient responsible for their own health so they don't need to see me. That's the doctor of the future who does less tests, less surgeries, less medications, less doctor's visits, less hospital visits. Let's reward the doctors who don't need to see their patients. Instead we give the highest payments to the doctors who have the sickest patients. Let's reward the doctor as the
healthiest patients. That doctor's doing the best job in my opinion right now. In emergency situations, yes, we get the best doctors in the world. There's no place I'd rather be than in America or New York. When you have an emergency, our doctors are going to save your life. But for chronic conditions, unfortunately, the education is poor, So we need to educate the world and let them know that you have control of your own health. If you want to boost your brain power, you've just got to put in
the work right. The most important thing is to try things every day, do something new. Think right now, did you do anything new yesterday? Did you do something that you've never done before in your life? And if the answer is no, you got work to do. You got gotta think of what can I do today that I've never done in my entire life. And the older you get, right, the more you've probably done. But believe me, it's unlimited the amount of new things you could learn. But
if you want your memory to improve, you got to exercise it. You use it or you lose it. Just like a muscle, if your bones are weak, you got to start exercising. Don't just take a pill gotta think outside the box. Be that one percent. Guess what's your best way to make your bone strong is weightlifting? How many eight year olds do you see weightlifting? How many nine year olds do you see weightlifting? Of course, their bones are going to be weak. But don't wait till you're eighty
or ninety. Start weightlifting now. If you have to start with one pounds, you start with one pound, and then you go up to two pounds, and then three pounds and then four pounds. I don't care where you start. Doesn't even have to be weights. You can use exercise bands, you could use your own body weights, you can do calisthetics, but it can't be my only exercise is walking or lifting the laundry. It has to be intentional, weight resistant exercise. That's going to be good for your mood.
It's going to be good for your muscles. It's going to be good for your heart, it's going to be good for your brain, it's going to be good for your bones. If you want to prevent osteoporosis osteopenia, you better start weightlifting every single day. You don't need pills. You need to weightlift. Your muscles are walking pharmacy every time you do weight resistant exercise and boosts your brain power, boosts your mood. It goes against any depression
and anxiety. Exercise is the best thing you could do. And I don't care what condition you have. You got cancer, Exercise helps you got diabetes. Exercise helps you at Alzheimer's. Exercise helps you've got heart disease. Exercise helps you know. You might need to be guided on which exercises are important, and not to do too little and not to do too much. Your health is an art. Don't overdo things, don't underdo things, don't do
anything too much. Don't eat the same breakfast every day. We said the most important thing for your brain is to do new things. One of those new things can be cooking a new meal, making a new meal, learning a new recipe, eating a new breakfast. Doesn't have to be super complicated. Yes, it's great if you can learn a new instrument, learn a new dance, learn a new language. I mean, yes, that would
be fantastic. But don't think every day you have to do that. You know, maybe at least one day of a week you learn a word in some other language. That's when one day you could do that. You know, learn anything, Learn something productive in life though, had a garden, how to put up a shelf, how to filter water, how to make a fire, you know, do something that will you know, help you in life. Learn how to change a tire, you know, learn stuff.
It's so easy to learn these days. You know. It's like, oh, I just remember a couple of years ago, my hot water heater went out of it. It was a shower. Oh my god it was it was so cold, And I said, I got to find my hot water heater. So what do I do? Do I call somebody to help, and I thought, you know, you know, I don't know too
much, but hey, let me go on YouTube. So I looked at up which you know, I went down into the basement and saw what type of hot water heater I had, and went on YouTube, and you know, said what do I do if my showers cold and my hot water heater
is not working? And and then you see a video and chose you okay, you know, look down here and click this button and light this thing here and look through here, and then you know you tried enough times to boom it worked, And I'm like, whoa, I just learned how to fix my why how hot water heater. But normally I probably would have paid this guy three hundred bucks to do this simple little thing. It was like, oh, just go on YouTube. It literally was a seven minute video.
BAM fixed it. Pretty cool, you know, and then you then you get comfortable and I was like, I just got home from vacation and I have an outdoor shower and the outdoor shower was on and I didn't know what happened, but you know I was able to fix it without calling a
plumber, and you know, it's pretty cool. So you get more comments saying, you know what, I fix the hot water here, or maybe I could fix the shower, and then you start to learn more things, and then you know, learn something useful that's going to help you in life, but you know, just for fun. Yeah, I learned things that could be meaningless as well, but it's always best to learn things that are
useful. I love to do that. And then you feel good and then you mark off a checklist and at least that dopamine hit, you know, and then you get more satisfied and break that down in your gratitude journal and all this stuff that I learn, and then your brain gets stronger and stronger and stronger. When you're in stress mode and you're doing the same thing every day and you're never getting any stimulation your brain, it's weaker. Don't let
your brain get weaker. Strengthen it like a muscle. Learn new things, do new things, Visit new places. That counts. That's a new thing, you know. I'm always trying to find new places to go. I take twelve vacations a year. I want to explore the world. Explore New York, New Jersey, Explore America, Explore North America, South America, Asia, Africa, Europe. Never made it to Antarctica, but I would love to do that. I don't even know if you're allowed to. But
you only live once, So enjoy life. Don't sit at home doing the same thing every day. That's a recipe for disaster. You want Alzheimer's do the same thing every single day. You don't want it. You want to improve your memory, improve your focus, do something new every single day. Novelty, it's the most important thing. The worst thing is just being on your phone, TV, computer every day, every night. Unplug. Join
the real world. We need you in the real world. Unplug, turn it off, turn off your Wi Fi turn off your cell phone, turn off your computer, turn off your iPad, turn off your video games, and start joining us in the real world. Those brains are draining you. They make you stupid. Before cell phones, we had to remember people's numbers. Before cell phones, we had to use maps and draw out directions. Before cell phones, we had to add and subtract and take percentages. Before
cell phones, we had to get up and get the facts. Before cell phones, we had to go to the store and go buy something. It got you off your butt, It got you moving, It got you meeting new pay people, doing new things. These cell phones are making us stupid. The computer makes us stupid. It's called digital dementia. It is a real condition, digital dementia. If you want to improve your memory, start are unplugging your devices. That way you will function better, feel better,

improve your memory. Don't believe anybody that tells you that as you get older your memory gets worse. That is not true. Your memory can improve as you get older. Maybe you have to reduce your inflammation. The two best ways to reduce inflammation are resveratrol and tumoric But you don't want to just take stuff to reduce your inflammation. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure, So figure out why you're inflamed to begin with. It's either a physical stress, a chemical stress, an emotional stress, some sort of stress that would cause inflammation. A lot of times it's food sugar or dairy or gluten or corn or soy or alcohol or coffee, something like that. A lot of times it's emotional stress, anxiety depression. A lot of times it's a chemical stress. Aluminum, mercury in the fish, lead in the water,
arsenic in the brown rice or apple juice. There's chemicals everywhere. Fluoride in your toothpaste or in the water. You know that is a neurotoxin. They're all neurotoxins. I don't want fluoride or mercury, or lead or aluminum or our I don't want them. So let's avoid these chemicals that cause inflammation. Then you have electromagnetic frequencies. Those cause inflammation. Microwaves. Don't use microwaves. Microwave ovens are horrible. They take away all the nutrients from the
food. Plus you're literally radiating yourself. It's radiation. You could use a toaster oven or an airfyer with no radiation cooks the food just as fast, maybe a minute more. You have to wait, and it doesn't denature. The food doesn't kill, the water doesn't kill the nutrients. Stop microwaving. I know it was cool back in the eighties where oh we could just pop some freezer meal in the microwave. In five minutes, and nobody's gotta cook. But now we know better, we gotta take the time to cook.
It's not worth cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, diabetes, It's not worth it. Start cooking, Start living old school family dinners. Everyone eats together, Everyone eats healthy organic foods. Kids play outside after school. Start living like we did back in the sixties, seventies, eighties. That's the way to do it. Gotta be outside in the sunlight. If you have a vitamin D deficiency, you're more likely to develop the mentor Alzheimer's. It's proven,
it's in the neuroscience. So get outside. Don't be afraid of the sun. Get your vitamin D levels high. And I don't mean higher than twenty or thirty. If you look in your blood work, we gotta double the normal. I want you close it a fifty or sixty. That's what I suggest. If you want to prevent Alzheimer's dementia, if you want to prevent COVID nineteen, if you want to prevent thyroid problems, get your vitamin D levels high. It's the most deficient vitamin ever. Everybody's vitamin D to
fish and it's crazy. You have to make sure you have vitamin D and go outside even in the winter. Roll up your sleeves, roll up your pants, take off your glasses, your hat. You're getting it even in the winter. Get some sun exposure and it's good for your eyes. You want to improve your vision. You can improve your vision as you get older. You just got to get your eyes some sun. Do some eye exercises. The best eye exercise called a brock string exercise. You want to improve
your eyes, do brock string exercises every single day. You want to improve your bones, do weight resistant exercise every single day. You want improve your heart, do aerobic exercise every single day. You want to improve your brain, do something new every single day. Novelty, start doing new things. Keep your brain hydrated. If you're dehydrated, you shrivel up like a raisin. If you don't do it for your brain, do it for your skin. You want your skin to look like a raisin, or you want your
skin to look like a grape. Start drinking water. Be a grape, don't be a raisin. You don't want wrinkles. Drink water. You don't want Alzheimer's. Drink water. It's good for heart. Disease. Don't you think blood is gonna go through your vessels easier. If you're hydrated, it's gonna make the blood so much easier to get where it needs to go. If you're dehydrated, the blood's gonna go slow. It's gonna become viscus like
molasses. Stay hydrated, drink halfier body weight in ounces. If you drink distilled water so there's nothing in it, make sure you put pink Himalayan salt or Celtic or Celtic sea salt to give you the minerals.
