The following is a paid podcast. iHeartRadio's hosting of this podcast constitutes neither an endorsement of the products offered or the ideas expressed. Hello and welcome to Boost your Brain Power. I'm your host, doctor Eric Kaplan. Hope everyone's having a great day today so far. We're going to talk about how to boost your brain power, how to improve your brain function. You know, up here in the Tri state area, up in the northeast, people are very

stressed out. New York City nickname is the city that never sleeps. However, sleep is super important for your health. We need to have good rest so we can improve our brain function. When you rest, you clear out all the bad brain cells. After forty years of age, we lose about ten percent of our brain cells every decade of our life. So what happens is we have to make sure that we get rid of the bad brain cells, clear them out. You have these glial cells, they call them the

nurses. They just kind of clean up everything, take out all the bad stuff and eliminate it. You want to get rid of the bad brain cells, and you want to make your good brain cells function at the highest possible level. The way you get them to function at the highest possible level is to create connections. Let's called neuroplasticity, where you can actually rewire the brain and create new connections. The more connections between the left, right, and

the different lobes of the brain, the higher functioning the brain. So someone who has ADD or ADHD, now they have trouble with focus where they're easily distracted, or they have low motivation, have anxiety depression. There's usually an imbalance of the left and right brain. They're not connected. Did we call that a functional disconnect syndrome. It's very common in childhood developmental delays. The childhood developmental delays are autism, dyslexia, Aspergers, turetts, add ADHD.

So it's these developmental delays and we see himbalances of the left and right brain. When there's less connections, there's less function. When they analyze Einstein's brain after he died, they didn't think that he was going to have so little brain cells. He actually had less brain cells than the average human, but what he had was more connections. The connections are the key. So you're always able to create more connections, You're always able to to rewire your brain.

You're always able to create that process called neuroplasticity. But you gotta put the work in. You gotta Just like you exercise your muscles at the gym, you gotta exercise your brain. You know, people understand, oh, I gotta brush my teeth every day. People understand, Oh I gotta shower every day, or I gotta wash my hands. People understand I gotta exercise and go to the gym. People understand you gotta get a good night's sleep.

People understand you have to drink water every day. So all these daily habits people know about. But what they don't know about is that you're supposed to exercise your brain every day. And if you think about it, what's more important than your brain? You know, I'd rather have bad teeth than a great brain, than great teeth and a horrible brain. Now, idealistically, let's have good teeth, good brain, good muscles, good eyes. So everything can improve if you put in the work. The question is what

work do you have to put in? Well, it's not rocket science. If your memory is bad, let's work on memory right. If you have anxiety, let's work on reducing stress levels. If you have fatigue, let's work on improving your sleeping habits. If you have bloating, let's work on your nutrition, right. So it's not it's not rocket science. If you get sick, you gotta work on your immune system. If you have diabetes, you gotta stop eating sugar. Right. So most of the solutions are

actually pretty simple. However, people just don't know how to do it. One of the most common conditions we see in our offices at KAPL and Brain and Body. We have one in Emerson, New Jersey, and we also have one in the West Village of New York City, Manhattan. So we see a lot of patients with what's called disautonomia. That's an imbalance of the autonomic nervous system. That's if you have too much of the sympathetic nervous system

and not enough of the parasympathetic nervous system. If you have too much of the sympathetic nervous system, you're gonna be stuck in what we call the fighter flight mode instead of a relaxed calm, rest and digest So when in that fighter flight mode, you're gonna get anxiety, you're gonna get panic, you're gonna worry, you might have anger, aggression, you might have difficulty sleeping,

you might have trouble with focus. Mind's raising all the time. You're always on alert, you're always ready to go, You're always worried about something. We see that a lot with this disautonomia, eye stress, lots of anxiety. The worst thing is stimulants. If you have this fight or flight mode, you don't want coffee, you don't want red bull, you don't want these energy drinks. You want soda, caffeine, you don't want sugar

or juice. Those are stimulating. You gotta relax the nervous system. If your nervous system is over stimulated because you have too much of that fight or flight mode, we gotta calm it down. We have to relax your nervous system. Right, So how do you relax the nerrvous system. The way to relax the nervous system is to work on what's called your parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system helps to calm you down. There's four nerves that

are linked to this parasympathetic nervous system. The first nerve is called the ocular motor nerve. That's cranial nerve. Three that is basically responsible for most of your eye muscles. So by doing certain eye exercises, you can actually relax your nervous system. The ocular motor nerve or the eyes are going to help you get into a relaxed state. The second nerve is called the facial nerve, and that's pretty self explanatory. That nerve is linked to your face.

It's also linked to what's called your traguest part of your ear. It's that little flap in your inner ear. So I was patient severe anxiety, always in that fight or flight mode, really stressed out. She used to get chronic headaches, migraines, and it was because she had too much of that

sympathetic nervous system and not enough of the power sympathetic nervous system. Therefore, her blood pressure wasn't regulated, her pulse rate, her oxygen levels, her breathing, her respiration, they were often she wasn't getting enough blood flow to the brain, and that's what a migraine is. A migraine is when you're not getting enough blood flow into the brain, and you'll usually feel migraine, which is a pain behind one of your eyes, like a sharp stabbing pain.

It's also associated with light sensitivity and nausea. So these are the patients. They want to just go in the dark room, you know, they don't want to hear anybody talk to anybody. They want to leave the house. They wanted to throw up their stomachs porus, just like they're out of

commission. Those are severe migraines, bad pain behind the eye. That's due to lack of oxygen into the brain, which can turn which can occur secondary to a disautonomia, and too much of the sympathetic nervous system when you're in that fight or flight, not enough of the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the rest and digest so you get a migraine headache with that. Another type

of headache that can be aggravated by this disautonomia is a tension headache. Attention headache is like if you're you know, you have hypertension and your blood pressure is too high and everything's squeezing and it's too tense. That's a tension headache. Well, usually see that the patients will describe it as a band around their head, you know, usually around the forehead temple area, like a tight band squeezing. That's a that's a tension headache that can be aggravated by

this disautonomia. Now, a stress headache can also be aggravated by this disautonomous. Stress headache is basically when your muscles are really tight in the back of your head and then they pull on your skull. That's from a stress headache. The other headaches are like cervigogenic that comes from your neck if your necks out of alignment. Another headache is a signus headache that'll be like either in the forehead or below your eyes you have some pressure, or there's cluster headaches.

Those are you know, aggravated by people who smoke cigarettes drink alcohol. They'll just get a bunch of headaches, you know, for maybe even week straight. Those are pretty intense. There. There's all type of headaches, but a lot of them are aggravated by this disautonomia, which is the imbounds of the autonomic nervous system. So the four nerves we got, the ocular motor nerve is number one, that's the eye exercises. The facial nerve that's

number two. The reason I was telling that story about the headaches is because we had this patient do a tragus ear piercing which is part of the ear, the tragus, this little flap which is linked to the facial nerve, and her migraines went away after years. So I remember her when I said, oh, you should pierce your tragis and she was a teenage girl. Her mom looks at me like, oh, what did you say that for, because she was begging her mom to get her ear piers for so long.

But I told them, Hey, this is for medical purposes. She has migraine headaches and when we pierce the tragus, that might stimulate this facial nerve, which is linked to the parasympathetic nervous system, which ended up getting rid of her migraines. Now, is this FDA approved for migraine treatment. No, okay, But we see lots of patients that when we stimulate this traggers part of the ear because of the facial nerve, they actually get rid

of their migraine headaches. We also have this thing where I pump air into the ear. Now, this insult filtration technique. It's only about fifty people in the whole world that do it. But it's a technique that if you have a severe migraine and not the tension headache, or the cervicogenech or the stress headache, or the sinus headache or the cluster headache. It's only for the migraines. That's the sharp one behind the eye with the light sensitivity and

the nausea. So if you have these severe migraines, we have this technique where we pump air into the ear and it actually gets rid of the migraine within one to two minutes, right on the spot. So the patient doesn't have to suffer for twenty four hours in the dark room throwing up, nauseous, can't go to where it can't go to school, horrible fore horble all day and they just come into the office and within a minute that headaches gone.

But the key is to prevent them, and probably for preventing them, we have to work on all four of those nerves. Number one the oculo motor. Number two is the facial. Number three is the glosso pharyngeal. That has to do with the tongue and the mouth. We actually have a perple nerve stimulator we put on the tongue and we do this gag reflex and garnering exercise, and we need tongue exercise and different noises and mouth and animal

sounds and all the different languages. That's really good for the glosso pharyngeal nerve and then the fourth nerve it's called the vegus nerve. So a lot of people have heard that, but that helps to relax your nervous system. So we have cold laser that helps with that. We do a coroate massage that helps with that. I don't try nities at home, but we also do

this different swallowing exercise. So there's all natural ways to work on this vegas nerve, to work on this parasympathetic nervous system to get you out of that fight or flight into a calm, relax rest and digesting. And that's what we do with capital and brain and body is figure out natural holistic ways without any drugs, no surgeries, no injections, just natural, holistic and integrative ways to get to the root cause of the problem. Rather than just trying

to hide symptoms or treated with medication. We want to get to the root cause improve the function because when you function better, you feel better and you live a better life more. When we come back from the break, if you want to improve your brain function, help with memory, focus, sleep, digestion, energy, depression, anxiety, dizziness, balance, vision, headaches, brain fog, weight loss, or simply want to maximize your human

potential and prevent future diseases that this is the show for you. Don't mis boost your brain power with doctor Eric Kaplan and you will learn natural, integrative, and holistic approaches to modern day medical problems such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's stroke, autism, add concussion, auto on, immune diseases, insomnia, fibromyalgia, vertigo, migrains four, posture pain, TBI, skin and digestive problems.

Doctor Kaplan is most famous for getting to the root cause of a wide variety of brain and health conditions, rather than treating symptoms with traditional medicines and risky surgeries. To contact the Doctor Kamplin, you can call his team at two oh one two six one two one five zero or visit his website at kaplindc dot com. Welcome back to boost your brain power. I'm your host, doctor Eric Kaplan. We're talking about the autonomic nervous system, what's called

disautonomia. When people have disautonomia, they're too much in this fight or flight and they're not enough in the relaxed, rest and digest state. We see that a lot a lot of people with these different anxiety disorders, handic disorders. People can't focus, their mind racing, their heart's beaten fast, they're always nervous, always stressed out. The mind's racing a million miles per hour.

What we got to do is rewire your brain. It's called neuroplasticity, and we went over these four nerves that you can exercise to strengthen that weak area of your brain to get you out of stress mode. We don't want you to be in that fight or flight mode that makes you more susceptible to heart attack, to stroke, to cancer, to diabetes, to digest the problems IBS, autoimmune disease, adrenal dysfunction, fatigue, insomnia, bipolar, all these things. We do not want you to feel bad. We want

you to improve your quality of life. But we have to make sure your brain is in a relaxed state. We can't have it in stress mode. So when we exercise those four nerves, you're actually going to rewire your brain. It's called neuroplastis, and you're going to decrease your stress levels just like

you could go to the gym and exercise your muscles to get stronger. You could do brain exercises so you could get your brain stronger, so you can handle stress and not get anxiety, not panic, not worry, not have so much stress in your life, because there's always going to be some problems

that come your way. I don't care if it's a relationship problem, if it's a money problem, if it's a living situation problem, if it's you know, you lose a loved one, or you just worried about your family and Israel or Ukraine, or you know, everybody has some issues, right you lose a loved one, you know, you get divorced, you know, you get fired, you know you get you know into a car accident and you break a bone, you get a concussion, you got lime disease,

COVID. There's always gonna be something. Life is not perfect. Life is not easy, but it's how you handle it. So you don't want your brain to go haywire every time you have some stress where the guy cuts you off on the highway and then you start freaking out, or you know, you start someone's late for an employment and then you start getting a panic attack. You know, it's not normal. You know, we have pretty good life here in America. We're pretty safe. You know, it's like

we're protected by the Atlantic Ocean, we're protected by the Pacific Ocean. I mean, you know, the last real big attack was in two thousand and one. You know, it's twenty two years since you know, there's been really bad attacks here in America. I mean, you know, there hasn't been you know, really anything on our soil. You had Pearl River and you had you know, not nine eleven, but that's about it. You know, It's like, we're pretty safe here Canada. You know, it's

a pretty safe border on top. Yes, there's a lot of you know, people getting in from the southern border, but overall, you know, it's a pretty safe place that we live, you know, especially you know, I live in New Jersey, and you know, even New York's not as bad as the news will have you. The news makes everything, you know, sound really bad. I mean, definitely worse than the seventies and

the eighties. And you know, you know, definitely in the nineties was cleaned up and it's much better now than it was, you know, forty years ago. So you know, we're making some progress. There isn't you know, too many natural disasters that come our way. We had sandy, but that's pretty much it in the last forty years. You know, it's like, we don't get earthquakes, we don't get hurricanes, we don't get fires, we don't you know, there's really not a a lot of bad

stuff that happens here. Tornadoes. You know, most people they go to sleep at night, their doors locked, they got to roof up over their head, they got clothes on their back. You know, they know where their next meal is coming from. So we shouldn't be in this stress mode all the time. But our brains are wired that way. They're wired for stress mode. They're wired for survival mode. We got to get out of that fight or flight mode into a relaxed rest and digestate. Maybe need to

start meditating and do it just a thirty second meditation. Everyone could do a thirty second meditation. I call it the relaxed technique. I just start at the top of my head and I just say that's my mantra. I say relax, and I relax all the muscles on the top of my head. And then I say inside my head, I say relax, and I relax my forehead, You relax, relax my jaw, relax my eyes, relax my ears, my nose, my mouth. I cover the whole body,

thirty hearts, from top to bottom. It only takes thirty seconds. Everybody's got thirty seconds. You do a thirty second meditation and it gets you in a more calm stink. Practice mindfulness. Mindfulness is where you just do one thing at a time. You can't have your mind going forty miles an hour when it should just be focused on one thing. Okay, when you're reading a book, you focus on the book. Don't have music playing in the background. When you're eating. Focus on the smell of the food, the

texture of the food, the taste of the food. Don't be scrolling through your phone while you eat your dinner. When you go to the gym, focus on your muscles. You're breathing, you're stretching your strength. Your heart getting better, your lungs becoming more efficient, your bones becoming strong. Your mind is becoming stronger. Focus on your workout. Don't be texting your friend between sets. Keep your mind on the gym right when you're at work,

be in work mode. Don't call your wife don't check in you know on your kids. Don't worry about the errands that you do after work. Focus on work. Be the best worker ever. When you're sweeping the floor, be the best sweeper ever. A great man once said, how you do anything is how you do everything. So if you're sweeping, be the best sweeper. You're working out, be the best worker outer. If you're cooking food, be the best chef. If you're taking your wife out, be

the best husband. If you're a boss, be the best boss. If you're an employee, be the best employee. If you're on the basketball team, be the best basketball player. Be the first one in practice, be the last one to leave. You make your bed. You make your bed so crisp and tight so it looks beautiful. Take pride in everything you do. Strengthen your brain. Everyone is too weak right now. Our brains are becoming weak, and a lot of it has to do with technology, which

is called digital dementia. We don't memorize people's phone numbers. We don't memorize directions. We don't memorize how to spell things. We don't memorize definitions, how to look up things. Everything is there. We don't have to do anything anymore. The technology does it for us. Now you've got AI chat GBT, they can think for you. You don't have to think anymore. You know. Let's say, oh you're a marketer, you just say, hey, chat GBT, come up with the marketing plan. You know.

Let's say you're in stocks, you say, chatt GBT. You know, tell me the best stocks to get. I mean, nobody has to think anymore, which is bad. Your brains are getting weaker, so you have to think on purpose. You've got to challenge yourself. Learn a new language, learn a musical instrument, learn a new dance move, learn a new technique, read a new book. Stimulate your brain. Strengthen your brain. You use it or you lose it. The brain needs novelty, needs to

do new things, do new things. Every day needs oxygen, go outside, get some exercise. Needs activation. Challenge yourself needs good food. Eat the rainbow every day, and avoid all the white foods, the dairy, the sugar, the flour, the bread, the noodles. Stay away from the whites, stay away from the sugar, and eat all the colors. Give that brain the fuel delivery it needs. That way will function better, feel better, and live better, life more when we come back from the

break. Don't miss Boost your brain Power with doctor Eric Kaplan every Saturday from two pm to three pm to learn the secrets of how to optimize your brain function. Hello, and welcome back to boost your brain power. I'm your host, Doctor Eric Kaplan. We're

talking about how to reduce stress levels. We don't want you to have too much of what's called your sympathetic nervous system, which is the fight or flight, and not enough of the parasympathetic which is the rest and digest So one of the ways to do that, to calm your nervous system down is to do intermittent fasting because when we eat, it stimulates cortisol, and cortisol is the stress hormone. So you don't want to eat at night as most people

do. They eat a big meal for dinner, but then you're gonna increase cortisol, increase stress. Then most people watch TV. After that the blue lights of all these smart devices, the smartphones, the TVs, the iPads, the computers. That's gonna put you more in stress mode. So we spoke about before how sugar and caffeine can put you in stress mode, but just nighttime eating as well as nighttime electronics can also put you in stress mode.

So if you have anxiety, if you have difficulties sleeping, if you have low energy, if you have a little panic, a little worry, always in stress mode. Your brain's always firing, you have inflammation, you're overheated. One strategy you want to start implementing immediately is to stop eating at night and stop using electronics at night. The ideal way is to eat from ten am to six pm, so your last meal should be done by six pm, and then you want to sleep from ten pm to six am.

Therefore, you're gonna have four hours between your last meal and bedtime. Now your nervous system can calm down and relax. You also want to dim the lights. Don't be eight nine o'clock in all the lights are on, the TV's on, the computers on, so your brain has no idea at nighttime. So what you wanna do is, after you're done eating at six o'clock, you go outside, take a nice little walk, maybe with your wife or your kids, or a friend or your dog, or even by yourself.

But get outside so that you can see the sun go down. When you see the sun go down, then your brain relaxes. Then you're gonna be less stressed, last anxiety. You can get a deeper sleep, You're gonna get re energized, reoxygenated. So you go outside, watch the sunset, and then when you come back, turn off most of the lights. Just have like a little desk lamp and keep it really dark so that the brain knows to calm down. But if you're eating at night, it's it's

nine o'clock at night. You're snacking on popcorn, you're watching TV, you're watching the news. Israel's getting bond, your cane's getting bond. Of course, you're gonna be stressed out. If you're eating at night, watching TV on the computer, learning about the travesties of the world and all the bad things that are going on, you're gonna have a horrible night's sleep. You're gonna have horrible stress, horrible anxiety, increase stress levels. It's a no

you know, it's no good for anybody. So don't watch TV at night. Start to read a book, Start to listen to some music, Start maybe listening to some podcasts or some comedians. Or start a little hobby drawing or sewing, or you know, collecting stamps, or start you know, doing more exercise, take a little dance class, or learn a musical instrument, or learn a new language, or join a book club, or just do anything where you're active, anything where you're social, anything that's you know

fun. But don't just sit on the couch watching TV. That's the worst thing for your brain. It's the worst thing for your body. It's a recipe for disaster. It's gonna increase your stress, it's going to make you more prone to get dimensioned. Alzheimer's and diabetes and obesity and heart disease and cancer. You don't want to be like a typical American. You gotta be

that top one percent. You don't want to be like the ninety nine percent because everyone else is depressed and anxious and fat, and they're dying a heart disease and cancer. I mean, almost everyone is sick in America. We have, you know, the most hospitals, the most doctors, the most medicine. Yet we're one of the sickest countries in the world. Do the math. We're not doing it right, all right. We're over medicated, we're oversurgery. We see too many doctors, too many procedures. We're too

invasive. We got to start living a more natural life. Stop eating all these processed foods. Live off the earth. Live off the earth. If if you can't grab it off a tree or a root or a bush, or you can't it in the ocean, or you can't grab it out of a nest, or you know, you can't catch it on the land, don't eat it if it's in a box or a can or a bag. You got to avoid it. Live natural. Right when it's dark, go to sleep, live natural, Go according to the sunlight. That's what people

have done for thousands of years. We don't want to change it, all right, So you're active during the day, you eat during the day when it's sunny, and then when it's dark out, you relax. Don't eat, don't put on the electronics, don't watch TV, don't go on the computer, don't go on your cell phone, don't go on social media. You gotta turn that off. If you need to check that stuff, do it in the morning. Do it in the afternoon. That's when it's bright

out. That's when cortisol's high, testosterone high, that's when we want to get stuff done. At nighttime is when you want to relax. So we've gotta turn everything off. You gotta chill out, calm your nervous system down, get added that fight or flight mode into a more relaxed rest and digest. A good way to calm down is a good breathing exercise. The best breathing exercise that gets you in a relax thing is to inhale for four seconds,

hold it for seven seconds, and exhale for eight seconds. Then you want to breathe from your diaphragm. When you inhale, push your belly down and out like you're a pregnant woman and then when you exhale, suck everything in until you push out that carbon dioside. Carbon dioxide creates an acidic environment. We don't want a citic environment. That's because cancer likes in a citic environment. Heart disease likes an acidic environment, diabetes likes in acidic environment.

Covid nineteen loves in a citic environment. Line disease loves in a citic environment. You know. That's when disease can thrive. We want more oxygen. That's why we get such great results with our patients in our office who uses the hyper baryck oxygen chamber, because the oxygen will kill off the lime, It'll kill off the covid, kill off the herpes, kill off, the e coi, kill off, the yeast infection, kill off, the urinary

tract infection, kill off the lung infections. So anytime you're sick, got parasites or worms or yeased or virus or bacteria, we want to oxygenate our bodies because that will kill off all the bad stuff. It suffocates them, you know, so it's like they can't thrive on that. So that's why we want more oxygen and less carbon dioxide. Oxygen is key. If you want to get oxygen producing plants inside your house, get snake plants, spider

plants, alo arab plants, money plants have high oxygen. They will purify your air. They will help to kill off the bed stuff. But nothing beats the hyperbaric oxygen chamber because that we increase the pressure which squeezes the oxygen into the celf. It actually increases mitochondria. So if you have a fatigue, low energy, headaches, you've had stroke, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, memories not going, you can't focus, digestions off, heart's not functioning, look

into that hyperbaric oxygen chamber. It was originally proved for the bends when people would go scuba diving and they would get dizzy in their ear helps to balance out the pressure. But then people were in the machine and their skin was getting healed like lesions, scars, breakouts, all this skin stuff was getting healed, and then people started going for skin stuff, and then you know, they started their long disease started getting fixed, and they started thinking better,

and they started performing betterans school, in sports. So it's like every time people go in we figure more and more stuff that it helps with. So we love that hyperbaric oxygen chamber. It helps us get great results with our patients. So other things that can help calm down your nervous system, our stuff that are going to kind of relax your brain. So one thing that everyone could do at home to relax the brain is where you draw the

infinity symbol like a figure eight. You just do it with your arm or your leg. They've been doing that in Asian cultures in India and Japan and China for thousands of thousands of years, but now Western neuroscience is caught up and actually proves it reduces anxiety. They did a ten year study on these office workers and half the group did these infinities thirty seconds, three times a

day. Half the group did not do the infinities. And over ten years, and the group that did the infinities you know, had like only like five percent reported you know, anxiety, and the group that didn't do the infinities, it was something like seventy five to eighty five percent didn't seventy five to eighty five percent reported anxiety, so one from five percent to eighty five percent. So that crazy, crazy kind of research there, but drawing the

infinities has been proven to reduce stress in anxiety. So those figure eights, like on a side, So you do that for thirty seconds, three times a day. That's something else you could do to help reduce your stress levels. Okay, very very important. Now exercise, right, You got to exercise. It's the best way to burn your energy. You know, when my son gets stressed out, I say, okay, go for a run, and he takes a run around the block. Feels better. He goes

into the basement starts punching the punching bag. Feels better, you know. Or we go outside kick the soccer ball feels better. It's always feels better when you exercise. So you know, you just got to get off your butt and do it. You know. The hard part is going to the gym or you know, going outside for that run, or you know, going to the basketball court or whatever it is you want to do. But do something that you like. You know, I personally I like basketball and

soccer and tennis, so I love sports. And then I love biking, and I love hiking, and you know, I love dancing, and I love to go to the gym, and I love orange Stairs. So I luckily, I love a lot of things, but you got to find something that you love. You know, some of my patients love pole dancing, some love hip hop dancing, some love belly dancing. You know, some love running, some love jogging, some love biking, some like rowing. You know, you got to do what you like so that you're having fun,

all right, that's the key. So it's not you know, a chore or an obligation, but you're actually having fun. Not only will getting you in a calm state help to reduce your anxiety, but also exercising, get your heart beat going fast and burning off that energy and lifting those weights, you know that's gonna be it's even out your mood. To contact the doctor Kaplan, you can call his team at two O one two six one two five zero or visit his website at kaplindc dot com. Welcome back to boost your brain power. I'm your host,

doctor Eric Kaplan. We're talking about a condition called disautinomia. That's when you have an increase in your sympathetic nervous system and your next stress mode at fight or flight instead of a calm, relaxed, rest and digest state. That could lead to a condition called POTS positional orthostatic techacardia syndrome. This is when you get up quickly and then you get light headed and you're like, oh, I'm very dizzy, and that is POTS. If you have a

problem in your autonomic nervous system, you might have POTS. So if you have POTS, we want to figure out where the dysfunction is in your autonomic nervous system. Another problem is insomnia. So if you have you're in that fight or flight mode. You're not going to sleep properly. So it's not just anxiety, it's also insomnia. It's also pots. If you have autoimmune disease, that's usually caused by this disautonomia because when your brain's overactive, then

your immune system gets overactive. Then it starts attacking different areas. For example, if you have silliac disease, it starts attacking your gut or ibs or something like that. Your own body attacking the gut. If you have hashmotos, it's your own body attacking the thyroid. If you have multiple sclerosis, it's your own body attacking the brain. If you have problems in your joints, it's your own that's rheumatoid arthritis, it's your own body attacking the joins.

So when you have a disautonomia or an overactive autonomic sympathetic nervous system, that's going to also cause an overactive immune system. So sometimes to fix an autoimmune disease, you have to get to the root cause and rewire your brain and calm down your nervous system. If you have autoimmune disease. We want to analyze your brain and see if you have a dysfunction in your autonomic nervous

system, what else can that cause. It could cause muscle tension. So if your brain's overactive, then your muscles are going to be overactive, and they're gonna get neck pain and back pain and sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome and headaches and dizzyness because all the muscles are pulling, they're tight, you're stiff, you got poor posture. A lot of that times it's from your over active nervous system. If you get heart palpitations, you know, I'm seeing

so many patients right now with these heart palpitations, with these arrhythmias. You know, it's when people's high blood pressure, you know, tachycardia, and when people's hearts overworked. That can cause a lot of problems. So when your autonomic nervous system isn't functioning properly, it can cause high blood pressure techy cardia put you at risk for a heart attack and stroke. So you have to figure out is your nervous system overstimulated? Now, how do you figure

that out? The best test to figure that out is called a q EEG brain mapping. This is a non invasive test. There's no radiation, there's no contrast fluid, there's no tube you have to lie in. It's pretty simple. It takes about twelve minutes. You just wear this cap that has

electrodes attached to it and it measures all your different brain waves. Your alpha brain waves which is how you just normally are, your beta brainwaves when you really got to focus and concentrate and think, your theta brain waves when you're just daydreaming and la la land, and then your delta brain waves when you're

sleeping and you're at rest. So it measures those four different brain waves and based on the location of where you would have abnormal brain waves, can tell us what type of symptoms you might have, such as anxiety, worry, stress, memory problems, focus problems, balance problems, hearing problems, visual problems, thyroid problems, intestinal issues, problems, anger, aggression, acetyl coling, dopamine problems, heavy metal poisoning, pathology, COVID, different infections,

different concussions. If you hit your head, what areas damaged you know, So it really breaks down all the different areas of your brain, which areas are functioning well and which areas are not functioning well. So it's a great test that gives us valuable information. And we'll even tell us, hey, do you have lack of motivation, do you have difficulties shifting tasks? Do you excessive worry? Do you have sleep deprivation? And do you have

any neurotransmitter problems. So it really breaks down everything pretty thoroughly. And what happens is we can tell you where your weaknesses are and then give you natural, healthy, holistic, integrative solutions that do not include risky surgeries or harmful medications. So it teaches you how to help yourself, how to rewire your brain in a process called neuroplasticity, to make more connections in your brain so you can function better, feel better, and improve your quality of life.

That's a q EEG brain mapping. We're going to give a gift to our listeners, so the first seven people that call, text or email you can get that test. Instead of paying the normal five hundred dollars for this neurological evaluation, you only have to pay twenty one dollars just telling me listen to my show. You can call or text six four six two two one sixty seven three eight, or you can email info at Caplinbrain and Body dot com. A second gift we're gonna give you. It's called a VNG test.

The VNG test is great for people with anxiety or depression, or we're talking about those developmental delays that add or the ADHD, or people who worried about their memory or their focus. Because what it does is it breaks down the left and the right brain and it says, Okay, this area is overactive and that's the anxiety. And this area is underactive, and that's the depression

and lack of motivation and poor focus. And this area's overactive. That's why you can't sleep, and that's why your heart beats so fast and you never ridden me is and this hare is underactive, and that's why you have low energy and fatigue, and that's why you can't think straight. And so it really breaks down which areas are underactive, which areas are overactive. It tells the difference between the left brain and the right brain. It breaks down all

the different lobes of the brain. This test, all you have to do is wear these infrared goggles. They have cameras in them, and they measure your eye movements as you follow certain things, they go left and right, and they go slow and fast, and they go up and down, and it's light and it's dark, and there's a left turn and a right turn and it's up and so all different eye tests, all different brain tests,

breaking it down which side is overactive, which side is underactive. This test is also normally five hundred dollars, but for the first seven people that call, texts or email, they can get that test for only twenty one dollars. Caller text six four six two two one six seven three eight, or you can email info at Kaplanbrain and Body dot com. The last test, the last gift we're gonna give you, is a one on one evaluation with

me. This is where we go over all your test results, blood works, MRIs, We go over your brain scans, if you did the brain mapping, if you did the VNG. We go over your history, your goals. We go over any conditions you've had. We go in diagnoses you've had, and then we come up with our own diagnosis. Do a whole evaluation. Check out your heart, your oxygen, We check out your lungs, your gut, your balance, your memory, your coordination, a complete

neurological and physical evaluation takes about forty five minutes. We come up with a diagnosis, We come up with recommendations that are all natural, without any drugs, harmful surgeries, you know, risky medications, So we come up with all holistic solutions. Is up to you whether you want to follow through or not. But I always tell patients, if you want medicine, don't come

to me. You want a surgery, don't come to me. You want an easy quick fix, just take some supplement or some herb, don't come to me. If you want to get to the root cause of the problem, come to me. If you don't want a band aid, you don't

want to just cover up symptoms, you come to me. If you want a permanent solution and you don't want to see doctors, and you don't want to do all these tests, and you know that your body can heal on its own, then you come to me because we figure out where your problems

are and the best natural ways to do it. So if you want this one on one evaluation with me, this is normally five hundred dollars, but for the first seven people that call, text or email, you can get the one on one evaluation with me, doctor Eric Kaplan for only twenty one dollars and if you want, you could do all three, so just tell them, hey, you listen to my show, you want to be one of the first seven people to do all three tests, and each one is

only twenty one dollars each, So you literally can get all three tests for only sixty three bucks if you want, you know, but you'll be there for you know, a few hours, but you'll get all done, all your diagnosis and your recommendations as well.
