Episode description

Jacqueline Watty is the vice-president of the board of directors of the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth and chair of their development and external engagement committee.

With a passion for sharing humane education within the community and helping not only pets, but people, Watty said the ultimate goal of the Humane Society is to build a culture where no animal is neglected or abandoned.

She also works at Waterloo’s Perimeter Institute in philanthropic partnerships, and is an active community member who sits as co-chair of her sons’ school council and is a member of Women of Humane Canada.

On Bonn Park with Sara Geidlinger and Marshall Ward, Watty talked at length about the evolution of the Humane Society, advocacy and enforcement, misconceptions, and how every community should be a safe place for animals.
