The lads talked to Prof Ken Poole about vertebral fractures. Ken explains that vertebral fractures should be never events because of effective treatments that patients can take. We also discuss Martha's law a patient safety initiative in the NHS that allows patients and their families to request a rapid review if they are concerned about their condition.

ken Poole is Professor of Metabolic Bone Disease University of Cambridge. Ken applies novel imaging techniques to investigate bone diseases. He also runs NHS clinical services for metabolic bone diseases and specialised rheumatology needs. One key project is the PHOENIX study which aims to improve the diagnosis of vertebral fractures using routine CT scanning.
