Episode 72 - Welcome to Season 2
It's great to be back! Lots going on, some traditional allotmenteering and the weather is beeeautiful.
Now in its third year, Bobs Garden is a glorious ten minute slow podcast recorded live on an English allotment in the Cotswolds. It's great for going to sleep with.
New episodes every Tuesday and Thursday morning across the growing season, in all weathers.
Tune in to the sounds of the weather and the wild birds. Catch up with the chickens, ducks and and hear about all the other projects happening in the garden.

It’s the end of season one! Thanks for lending me your ears. I return home from holiday to find a jungle, the dog does a poo and a pigeon scares the life out of me. It’s all happening.
I recount a local story about being harassed by a seal whilst walking the dog on the beach.
A lovely podcast from my favourite place in the country. Now I’m off for a swim.
After the introduction of new chickens I walk over for the first morning !
Bit of a ramble about chickens and a look back at where I thought I’d be compared to where I actually am.
Raised beds, no dig and it’s 30 degrees!
I discover the intricacies of adding more chickens to your brood!
After a short hiatus Bobs Garden returns with aplomb! Here’s what you missed.
A really rambling one this evening. Round a campfire I discuss flowers vs veg and try to ascertain how much each one of my carrots cost. Hint, I think it’s about three quid.
Funny how we’ve spent the last two years cooped up together and now everyone in the uk wants to go camping, cooping themselves up in a smaller space!
The first proper offsite podcast, clifftop in Pembrokeshire!
I invite you to my allotment for a beer and talk more about lockdown. It starts to rain but I don’t mind.
I try to buy some sprinklers and talk about my oak trees some more.
I talk strawberries, hit the polytunnel and rant about lockdown.
Chickens this morning and I talk about my oak trees. They’re doing great!
I walk round the lower field today to visit the river which is in flood and take a look at the paths mown through the lawn.
I plant out the sprouts and feel the sun on my back. Goats and another dog on the horizon!
It’s lashing it down for once and I hide in the poly tunnel.
I basically walk round the allotment, rambling on in the rain. Covering what’s gone on in the last few days.
The chicken man tries to talk me into ducks and I ponder a pond.
It’s gone cold and the hens put themselves to bed early. I’m covering up my beans and drinking a low alcohol beer. Help!
I have some Bobs Garden merch! Email your real address to [email protected] and I will put some stuff in the post to you. I talk about hoovering and vaccine passports.
We’re all just animals at the end of the day. I talk about Instagram and it’s perils plus I look back over the podcast as we approach 50 episodes!
I have a new gate. This is genuinely compelling podcasting isn’t it. I build a new bed and buy compost.
I go on yet again about no dig, talk compost, polytunnels, weedkiller and chickens.
It’s very peaceful this evening. There will be a frost. This allotment is my curry house!
I set up some cold frames in the name of no dig and plant lettuce and salad leaves.
I plant some french beans and contemplate if I can tackle the weeds using the No Dig method.
A very slow podcast this morning even by my standards. I’m amongst the kale in my pyjamas and I’m contemplating yesterday’s work.
