Hey, welcome to episode one. It's their Grammy recap with Eddie and myself and this will only be good for about a couple of days. Yeah, because it's timely, very timely. Yeah, so we can roll through some of the awards and
some of the stuff that we saw. The weird thing about the Grammys, though, is people see the Grammys and this happens every year where somebody new wins, like Best New Arts, which wasn't the case last night because do a leap at one and she has big hits like she has account But the Grammys, it's such a small voting group of people that are kind of cool in history. It doesn't represent America. Can you explain that? So I'm
a voting member, you have to be. You have to have some sort of credential to vote for the Grammys. You and I are because of our band, The Reging Idiots. It's not the radio shows not Because we had a record that sold a certain amount, we were then given access to vote in the Grammys. So you have to be super musical. So what happens why some of these people win awards that are super cool and people have never heard of because the voters are super cool. It's
not a representation of America. It's a representation of music snobs. I think most people don't know that, and they shouldn't, but I mean they don't want people to know that. They wanted to seem like it's a representation of America. It's not. So when someone wins and you go, oh, how is this person not bigger, it's because this person
maybe doesn't appeal to all of America. Because there there have been people in the Best New Artists category they have won, even last night there I've never heard of, and not they shouldn't win, But who's voting are the real cool, super knowledgeable people inside the industry people. It's why the Avengers don't win Best Picture. Oh. The same thing with that would be the Academy saying it's like the Academy in the I didn't even put tune two together, And you go, well, why do all the movies we
never heard of win? Because that's people that are inside the industry that want cool things to win. It's it's a big award, but awards mean less and less um. But that being said, that's the deal with the Grammys. But what's cool about that, I think is that the Grammy people know like they listened to everything like they're supposed to. I don't, And I voted but like even as, yeah, you do, you listen to a lot of stuff like you.
But I'm talking about the categories, well, right, Eddie, I voted the categories that I don't picked a song with the person I knew. Correct, I get that. But these are knowledgeable inside people that really do listen to music a certain way and can see stuff that most people don't really notice. Maybe, but they're also don't have ears for like mass consumption for the public. That's true, and that's why and it's also why the big movies don't win either, and why we get awards for music that
we don't even know. As long as people know that, I think you watch it a bit different. You know, you watched last night. St Vincent is playing and she's awesome, and I like Saint Vincent, but I'm kind of a music nerd in music snob, and I don't think a lot of people know her. Most people would be like, like, I don't, why is she on this ship? We talked about Brandy Carlisle. Most people were like, Oh, who's this
new artist? Only been around for forty years. And here's the thing about Brandy Carlyle, is that, yeah, Brandy car again. I say this because I love Americana. I think Americana is what old country used to be. So it's it's your singer songwriter. It's like it's kind of what Nashville is in a weird way, like it's acoustic guitar and you're and your singer with a lot of heart. So I have a lot of friends that were on last night,
even people that I just know that aren't friends. After she was on and performed that, They're like, I'm the biggest Brandy car I've known you for ten years. You've never once mentioned you like Brandy Carlia. And she is good. She's been awesome. But again, he didn't see me screaming it last night even though she was awesome, because I felt like a poser because you've never really talked about you.
You've known who she is, We've talked about her in the past many times, but now you would totally look like a poser. You're just like a strange at the same time to yeah, he plays with the same twins. She's had the same twins forever. Let's he lives on a compound like I actually, and we have like the same management. Really, yes, but again, I would see a lot of a lot of people going, I'm the biggest. Even with the Casey stuff. I would see other radio
people goes like, play Casey mostgrads radio. I'm like, you, guys, didn't shut up just because she's winning. Now all that, and I'm glad it's happening because it always takes a thump to make it go forward. Um, on this show, I don't program music. I just will spike songs and be like, I like this song, let me play it, and then I'll yell at programmers from not playing it. And the cases stuff I've been doing for a year easily,
But then I stopped. You heard, I don't do that anymore because now I just feel like opposer if I'm on that team of Hey, how about those all those grammys? I put congratulations to her last night and that was it. Do you talk about how it works on your show where you have your little block of time that you can kind of do whatever you want and then the rest is program Again, I feel like sometimes it's two in the weeds, especially on the radio show. But here's
how it works. We have a program director that programs the music based on research. Right. I don't get into research. I don't program music at all. But what I do because I do, I can do whatever I want in my stuff. And so if I feel like playing a song, I just play a song. Yeah, it's your block of time which we can talk about whatever we want, or you can play a song. Yeah, I'm free to do whatever. And that those are the places where you you've really
showcase Casey's music. Yes, in my spots, I've taken them. Be like, you know what, I'm not gonna talk for three minutes. Let me play slow Burn or let me play used Him the dance Party. And I don't feel like opposed or saying it now because if you listen to this, probably know that much about me is that that was my favorite record. I mean that that came out what months, I mean, it came out a long time ago, and you here whatever, yeah, something like that,
and you're not even gonna say that. I'm just here to say I was watching all the radio people that aren't now like yeah, come on, and I'm glad they are. And that's my point. Like my wife, we were watching it last night. She's just like, but I've never heard any of these songs on the radio. It's like because
they don't come on the radio. Yeah, And I don't even know that they ever pitched a real single to radio until now, which they are with her song that she played last night, which, by the way, Richard Rainbow, which is this guy, this is Mike. To be fair, this is my kind of music, Lights Down Candle, her first records on my favorite records ever. I'm just a big fan generally yea. But good for her because maybe
that's the kick in the pants people needed. My assumption is it won't be just that because the Grammys come and people stay on it for a couple of a few weeks, and then if it's researching, well, and I don't know how that works, fully, I don't get into that because then I know too much. I want plausible, my ability explain what that means. If I do, I don't know how it works. I can't go, well, this is what's happening. I don't know how it works. I
get out of the research stuff like walking backwards. Don't know. You can't blame me for it. Don't know how songs are researched. Um. Sometimes I'll see scores, research scores, but other than that, I don't do the research. Explain something because you know Casey better than I do. I don't really know I we like we see. I don't know
that I know her know her. But I saw her after the CMA to talk to her for a bit and was like, hey, it's really cool and um, like on insta story, we'll back and forth a little bit, like the crew she runs with. I don't know where that was, but like the dudes, the producers or whoever, like part of her crew walking up there, like guy dressed like Darth Vader, Like it's very interesting, Like you wouldn't see I don't know how to say this that you wouldn't see like Luke Combs or Cookcine Brown because
they were there. That's what's awesome about her, though right does not give a f like these dudes show up looking like the Stormtroopers and Darth Vader together and you're just like, this is You're not this is not your everyday like artist. The thing that's refreshing about Casey is the things that have also made a lot of people go like what's up with her? Is that she just doesn't care like f off and off. Okay, sure, so
I just genuinely love her music. Even when her and I weren't good because I was an idiot, I still was playing her music like crazy. I was playing follow Arrow more than anybody was. But that being said, this isn't this is even a me segment. I'm just saying that good for her, and I hope that people now even if they're posing it great, it doesn't matter how it happens. I would compare it to people that have charitable foundations and they're only doing it for tax benefits.
As long as charity is happening, who cares a lot of people do, yeah, but if you're helping out kids or sick people, I don't care really why you're doing. The end result is good, that's all that matters. So if all these radio people and pds want to be like well, and they weren't talking about it or or fighting for it or okay, who cares to do it now? But what did you think about her taking album of the year like the biggest that is like your your
best picture, that's your big one of the night. And she's up against like I thought she was I thought she was in a good place to do it. And here's why. She was going to take that country niche for the most part. You may give me all the do you know who's up for all those I'd like to look at it again, But she was going to take the country vote block, and she was going to
take the cool kind of hipster voting block. She also was going to get a lot of the people, not just females, with people that was also going, hey, if I'm torn like females making screwed over for so long that no, let's give the benefit of the doubt. If that was a case. And I think you saw that last night at the beginning of the show, they put a bunch of female artists. At first, it was awesome because of what the guy said last year where he was like, females got to step up. No, they've been
stepping up, you douche. How about we have these dudes with the daylings. Stop. So I think that she was in a good place. Um, okay, with Cardi B, which I thought was the biggest competitor for her, huge Cardi B Cardi b Um, Brandy Carlisle was up. I thought she was a bit too Niche Drake Drake huge. Yeah, I just to pop though for the Grammys to win big album in my opinion, because you have a bunch of cool people voting her too cool, too new. No, because she won, like she win R and B album,
Oh the Last Night, Yeah, she also won. I think you are one of the big albums because then she gets up there and goes it wasn't even an album, which I don't even know if people, and I wouldn't know what if I wasn't working in music. An EPs just a shorter version. It's we always compare it to like when we're growing up, the singles. You know, we're like an artist would release a single album and it would just be the hit with like two or three
B sides with two sucky songs, that exactly. And now the EPs just you think, I'm gonna put this out and see how it goes, and if you love it, we're gonna do a whole record. I would never put out a full album now for me, why would you? Well, labels, Okay, if you're gonna deal with the label and they want to full album, they can sell with hard like acture. You don't sell EPs and stores. EPs are only there for streaming. So if you're still trying to sell hard music,
you make an album seeking CDs for consumers. I mean, there's a handful of people left that buy hard CDs. Six Yeah, it's still sixty. It's maybe more than that, but that thirty five to forty has grown a lot, and that's a significant number of people who don't buy albums. Like take me back to the day where we go to best Buy and like like and everyone. You go to Walmart Target, now there's no one in the CD section. Dirty Computer from genomene a Golden Arrow, Casey Black Panther
at the album. Yeah, I thought Casey was in a good spot where against all the other artists to have a shot. I didn't know that she would win. I knew I felt she was gonna win Country Album of the Year. I said that on the show, like she had. I feel like she had the best shot with Stableton second Um and Brothers Osborne third. I believe too, she genuinely did not think she was gonna win that. I mean, do you I wonder if anyone thinks they're gonna win,
you're going up against the heaviest of heavyweight. But that was also the album that I listened to the most, and it's my favorite album for the past year and a half or so a year right March came out in March, so I was happy selfishly, but also like limited my told you so's it's pretty cool though, I mean really like you genuinely, and I'm not talking to just you because whatever, Like you genuinely liked that album and you talked about it for a little bit, but
I knew you were listening to it over and over. When we kept putting in our our female show. We didn't know what song could put because it wasn't there wasn't a single, so we just put all the songs. So, dude, that is cool to like be on something that's like, oh, eventually people know what's good and now everyone today probably album sold like crazy, like crazy, right, that's a game changer when you win something like that. Oh you're four
or four Grammys? Yeah, so now just good. Um, we run through some of the stuff anyway, Congratulations to Casey must I'm a massive fan. Um. So to say that on the front and then also to say that the Grammys are just generally they're not vote they are not
voted on by the people. That really doesn't if by the way, that can't happen almost because if it gets voted on by the people, you have boy bands winning every time, And not that boy bands don't deserve to win, but those are people who vote, teenagers who get online and hammer that South Korean. There's just not an accurate representation BTS right, It's hard to have an accurate representation. But the grammars are so prestigious because of people voting
are so prestigious. But you also got to know that the normal stuff doesn't win a whole lot because the people voting feel like they're a sellout if they vote for Album of the Year, they vote for Drake. Drake did win like that. So that's roll through some of these. You want to find the difference in record and album definition. From what I noticed, records a song, songwriters um, and then album is the company. What do you know that
answer to this? I believe the song is the artist, the record is the songwriters, and album is literally the album, the whole album. Record is probably not also just songwriters, but also producers to the people that worked on the album, because they they often say who the sound people are good clarification. Um, But it's still confusing because when they said record, I thought like, Okay, this is the record. Then they would name the songs or whatever, and I
was like, oh, I don't really get it. Record of the year all those include in making this song. So producer, engineer, the mixer, person who performed it, all that song of the year, the were ghost person who wrote the song. Bruno Mars may have song a song, but he wouldn't win it. The person who wrote it would. So which one did Childish Gambino win? Because that was funny record. He formed it and everybody the producer, of the engineer,
all the people, the nineties seven people. That was funny to me because just the producers or whoever, the guys that worked on it went up and like literally hadn't They're like, well, I really wish Donald was here. Yeah, he said he wasn't going. He was like, I'm not going to the ground and he kind of left him up there, kind of just like all right, well this is our moment. Nobody knows who we are. Let's just talk Ariana Grande one and she wasn't there. Who else
was there last night? There are a few people to backed out, so we were I see I thought Drake wasn't going, and then I saw him good up there and he and Drake said something like the award related at me and anything. It's about it. You know, if you get to make songs go to people in your hometown, I think you're a hero. So I thought that Alicia Keys was awesome as a host because she wasn't trying to give me a laugh and I knew that, and she just seemed like real. We talked about it before.
I was like, I wonder how Alicia Key's gonna do, and you're like, they wouldn't put her in a place where she can fail. Her thing isn't too entertain or make you laugh, kind of like like Conan's hosting. Yeah, Kevin Hart would make you laugh. Like they're not gonna make her do that, and you're a spot on. It wasn't about her. Yeah, they had her do what she does, which is talk genuinely and um intelligently about music. And also she looked really nice and cool at times. And
then we come back to her. She didn't know she was like camera and she was like talking to the crowd. They look, we love get it's a good look and she's just beautiful. Yeah, she's just gorgeous. Child just can't be in the one Record of the Year and Song of the Year both all categories. Right, So he had a big night. I like it music video because it didn't make me feel weird for being like not super
ripped up because Donald Loover is not. He's not. And he has no problem tagging his shirt off and moving his body the way bodies normally don't move. I like that. And he's super talented, nothing like me, but still I feel like he's like me. Do you ever try to dance like him? No? Yea best new artists want to do alipa. I was glad to see Dan and Sha win a Grammy when they got shut out. They wont Best Performance by a Duo Regroup. Who else the group category?
I remember, and they performed last night and I gets I don't know what you do, but I get all the feelings when like some kind of Nashville song like this makes it to that level yeah, where you're just because you know, we had Nicole Galleant songwriter on here about talking about this song and Dan, you know, his friend of ours, like were they It's like they're at the Grammys in this song and now everyone is listening.
It's a huge hit smash and they're they're just doing it, and we're like, that just makes it makes I don't know about how it makes you feel, but it's just like, dang man, it's like right here in our backyard and now everyone knows about it. Just shows you can do it because they just sat there with an idea and
turned it into a thing. Here. That was Brothers Osborne shoot me straight, uh, Tequila, Dan and Shay when someone stops loving you a little big town dear hate Marion Morris to Vince Gill and meant to be Bbrex of Florida Georgia line, which was huge, which right which I would say that Tequila did to Florida Georgia line what Brothers Osborne did to Dan and Shay at the CMA. It goes on and on, it goes on and on. I feel bad for those guys. No, you know what,
I don't. I don't because they get again, they're so big that and they do things with pop artists that the country voters go, yeah, we don't want to get more votes, and they get dicked out of stuff and then I feel like they you know, if they had one last night would have been like that makes sense Florida Georgie only I should have won. But they're good. I think they're good. My point is there. So again, you're so rich and you're famous, you're killing it. You
still want that sort of validation like they went. They've gotten it though through you still want it from your peers. You can have everything in the world, you still want it from your peers. Well, can we tell them like, I haven't forgot I don't. I still think they're good. But you're not of Graham. You know you're gonna give a trophy. Man, I'm a voter. You're gonna give him the eddie. Yeah, your head on a taco show. Still we we validate you? Yeah? Uh, let me pause one second.

I love life Flock. I have used life flock. They've helped me so many times. Life flock dot Com Best Solo Performance Kasy Musgraves Butterflies Now Best Country Songs, Space Cowboy Kasy Musgraves ca Yeah for her Man, who did you see last night on the show And you went, oh, holy crap, Yeah that her girl? Oh you thought she was? I did, Okay, I don't know who she is. I've
never heard of her. And she came out with a crystal clear guitar like starts, and she didn't shred it or anything like nothing crazy, but she held her own. She did cool little like little leads and sounded good and she's just pure entertainer like she just she owned that stage and owned the Grammys for that four minutes. Here are you? Are you sure? I think you're talking about Janelle? Janelle mo? No, no, no, the one little little class. You know what? She did have a clear guitar. Yeah,
That's what I'm talking about. She was She had like a clear strat and it eventually became a big thing. Like it slowly it was just her and then became a big thing. Didjenelle Monet performance with my favorite? I didn't know she was a musician and she went out with the guitar and she was doing dancing with the guelle. It felt like a prince. So I felt like like princes back in her box. That was good. I thought
the Dolly tribute was really good. I thought not so much that I thought it won the night, but it was cool for people to see what we see. That's so And Miley Sorus is freaking amazing. Did she People need to know how talented she is and what kind of voice she has so powerful and so good. This is them doing Joline, Yes, and Miley is Dollar, Dottie's daughter, Dolly's grant god god mother. Yes, Dolly godmother. And then
everyone got on stage and saying nine to five. It was Marin Miley, a little big town, Katie Perry, um also Casey. You know, I was surprised that Kelsey wasn't a part of that. She was the female country artist that wasn't up there. They didn't give her a spot bones. I didn't even think about that because she was there, Yes she was, because she presented later in the night. Maybe she wasn't physically there. I don't know. Wow, I
don't know. I don't know the story behind that. But I was like, oh, do what Kelsey's not up there because all the other female mainstream country artists would have thought I would have replaced Katie Perry was too big of a star. Really yeah, but the only non country artist. Yeah, she could have been up there, or maybe not. Maybe
there wasn't. Maybe I don't know, but I didn't like catch wonder where Kelsey is, Miley Cyrus and Seawan Mendez It in my blood piano and I don't really like that song until you played on piano and I was like talking about it's a pop song. It just sounds like a pop song, right, um, But when he played on piano, was like, oh, stripped down. It's like a real,
really cool Bobby kind of song. I saw it for the first time at our I Heart Um festival in Las Vegas, and he sang it and it's just like, that's the first time I got to see him in person. Shawn Mendez. It's like, you know, whatever, pop mus That's what I'm saying now about my kids. Whatever. God, he's so good, So like those songs are so good, and he's like super tall and super good looking and super talented. And he's getting older because he's still went like ninety
is he older than that? I still think he's like really young. He was a Vine kid. They're kind of on Vine when Vine was the thing. He's putting up six second videos, so if he twenty, so if he's that talented now, dude, forget about it. She's which thing about Lady Gaga. Here's my thing. Go back in the
day when people acted like that. And I want to sound old by saying that, but people acted like that because they were wasted, like they were gone when Jim Morrison acted like that because he took a lot of drugs. She's just acting to me, and I guess as I see it, it's just like, oh my gosh, how do you know she's not on drugs? Because she's not she because she talks normal when she's presenting, like she would be like hey, but so so to me, it's just like, okay,
you're you're an entertainer. I get it. But that's like it almost felt like she was singing and acting to the wrong song. Like if you turned the volume down, you would have thought like, oh man, that's a jam in rock, but then you turn the volume up and it's like, oh, it's a song from that movie. Okay, I liked it. I'm into her being weird and different because it stands out in the land of where nothing stands out, if you can stand out, I'm into it
because we're talking about it. She's always stood out. Though she wore the meat dress, she's always done those. And then she went back to being classic. She did Tony Bennett stuff, and she took some time, and but I'm up for her being nutty because we wouldn't talk about her if she if she wasn't nutty, this would not even be mentioned because it was just a song from whatever the movie. Think about that. If she just went up there and nailed the singing part, do you think
we talked about it right now? It would just be like, okay, cool, we expect that from Lady Gaga. So what do you know? The backstory behind Bradley Cooper? Was there just here's the Baptist, which is kind of big movie awards for the UK. I believe that's right because that to me, just automatically, without knowing that, I thought were like, well, why wouldn't
they just tell him both? And they tried, and at first I thought he would come out as a surprise, but I googled during the show Bradley Cooper's Baptist speech and it was two hours prior and there's no way he could get from the UK to because I would have loved to seeing him sing it live, just because he's an actor that, yeah, you come out in the gear like I'd love to see it, Like as the do you like the movie? I haven't seen it? Dude,
you're doing all this talk and you haven't seen the movie. No, Well, what have I said about the movie that you want to see the movie? I want to see him sing. You should watch the movie. Think it comes out this weekend digitally, like we download it. How do you say that it's downloadable? I say digitally digitally? Yeah, I know I will now that it's available. But I missed the theater time because remember I told you I was driving
to and I got in a car accident. Yeah it's good, So we never got to see it, but I'll watch it. Post Maolon got up with the guitar and did stay but so at it's up shapen waiting on, which probably opened a lot of people's eyes to that. Post Malone's also a musician because Mike do you see to play a bunch of and he plays guitar a lot. He does everything he'll do like a hard rock song and then bust out the acoustic do it a country song? It does it all. When Miley performed last night, I said, hey,
I fully endorsing Miley stars country record or song. And like all the old school country guys that follow me and just like they hate everything I do, were like, that's what's wrong with country music? And I think I replied to one of those douches and I was like, hey, um, I think of something like hey, you know, good luck champ or something. I was kind of condescended, that's all you came up with. Well, I just I didn't want
to give him too much of my time give. I don't like to give people my brain space, right, especially when they say something like that you gotta pay rent to be living up there. In my head, right, I don't even way up there for free. That I don't like charge high rise rent. And so I was like, yeah, whatever, He's like, dude, what's wrong with it? But I was just again, I was thinking about it this morning listening to the clips. Like Miley from Nashville, his dad is
a country star. Sounds like everything about her country except she went to l A to act early Dolly Partons, her godmother. Everything about her his country except when she was kids she moved over to It's like all these there are, all of our roots are country, like we live in America, you know, this is the way it is. Like like Darius, he was a rock he was a rock guy, you know, and he's a country artist. Billy Ray Cyrus, let's be getting more country like as Billy's Daughter.
That's just ridiculous to me that somebody would say that. I thought when post Malone performed the Chili Peppers that sucked. Why and I love the Chili Peppers. Nobody dow the song like you play when I watched an Awards show and I'm giving you my time where I could be watching something on Netflix. You better give me stuff that I know and really love or blow me away with stuff I don't but cool to see the Chili Peppers
on the stage. They need to play with. If post Malone's a new one, they need to be the old one that plays an old song. He's playing new hits. Bring out the Chili Peppers and they need to give it away. Do under the bridge of post Malone. They need to do something big again. It's hard to keep people's attentions for any space at all. I bet you people change it like crazy during the Chili Peppers because I was like, what freak song is this? Yeah, and
I love the Chili Peppers. I probably seen him couts are nine times. I wonder if post Malone wanted to do that or how that happens. No, he doesn't dictate their song, so just kind of like guitar. They're like, hey, we can smash you guys together. He's probably like cool, he played guitar. He didn't even sing their song. He just played guitar. I mean, he didn't look like he was having fun, kind of looking at when you get
to do a side, you know, play guitar. But that was really cool about Post Malone's playing the acoustic, Like I would never have thought of him as someone they can do that, So that is cool that you get to see another side of an artist that. But notice he also didn't do a full song, right. He did his piece and then he went back. Um, I thought it looked like he got lost for a second. Did
you guys see that? He goes hey, he uh, he has the microphone and he goes back and they cut away and he's back under the bleachers coming out with the red It looks at the camera like I supposed to. It's like, I'm that was cool, Alicia Keys, I did not see this. I was you didn't see dude? Amazing, wasn't you think about Musically? You think about it like, oh, how cool she's playing two pianos, But really, your left hand when you play piano does opposite of your right hand,
so it's possible. It's not like, oh wow, she can play two po That to me wasn't surprising. It was the knowledge of music and the songs she picked like all over the map. But she was like singing with Smokey Robinson and they were just up there doing that, um the tracks of My Tears and Attracts some and she was just hitting those harmonies with him. They were just I was like, God, they're both so good. Man smokes like seventy something. Diana Ross was awesome. She can
still sing. She's seventy five. That's crazy, and she was singing big. That's that was cool to all these legends that can still do it, Dolly, Diana Ross, Smokey Like we we would think of all these old legends like, okay, cool that they were cool back in the day, but they still got it. The biggest snubs Z the Middle with Mary Morris up for five awards, one zero snub.
I don't think it was a snub up for five point is it was up for five dn't win any Yeah, Like it's the most amount that didn't win any I just feel like that that song was awesome. For Marin and we were like, oh yeah, we knew Marion before all that, and that really helped her and it was cool. But in the pop category, it was a tard commercial to me. To me, it's a hard commercial. To me, that's not to me, that's fine, but that's how we were introduced to it. Maybe the Grammy's last year is
that where that song came out. I thought it was super bold. I think I was told it, well whatever, I'm wrong, but it's an awesome song. Yeah. Also post Malone up for four one none the popping, popping man. I feel just let a rock star crazy to me? What that he didn't win any Again, it comes out of what category you're in, who you're against, what they've done. The voting all right, postponed a couple of times. Did you vote? I did vote? Show cut down your one
favorite moment last night? One favorite moment um, I guess, Dolly to me, Oh no, I'll say Dan and Shade. I'll say Dan and Shade because again we root hard for them and just to see him up there. Although I think Dan's fly was down, either it was down or his pants are made funny. Yeah, something something, something
was up, which who cares like that's awesome. I wish like more people were just like it make the internet go crazy, But it's not because it was really cool to watch him strip that song down piano one against Say, I didn't know he can play piano. That's awesome. And then Dan, of course, he's just great in his background vocals and guitar. Everything sounded awesome. But then at the very end, Shaye holds that note for like thirty seconds and just kills the auditorium and then probably kills the
whole world watching like so so so good. And I just couldn't be happier for those guys. They wrote Speechless together. Dan was the only one of the three that wrote Tequila because I think, like, if I remember right, she was like I'm just skipped this right or something. No, And SHA's probably like I'm just gonna sleep in. That's always gonna be a weird, weird deal. Yeah, but say,
I just don't know if that kind of stuff bothers him. Well, listen, you're not getting paid out if it bothers you, we kind of probably wish paychecks writer paychecks there do I just fine, though, don't get me wrong. Uh, let's see what was your favorite. My favorite performance and I wasn't expecting again was the Janelle Monet because she came out with the bamp bound and then they started dancing. I would really like the beginning. I didn't think I was
gonna like to come in like a Beao performance. I was like, oh, But then when they started dancing to all the salts and stuff, I was like, this is freaking cool. The Ricky Martin came out, Um, who's the rapper? They said on the bench, or is the singer? Is she? What is she? Puerto Rican? Are they all Puerto Rican? Is that like Ricky Martin? I don't know. Is she from Cuba because Havana. Of course she's Cuban, but that song is Havana the capital like Cuba. I love that
style of music, man, Like that's not me. I didn't grow up with that, but like I love that that that Cuban Puerto Rican Dominicans not sound like so good. When they were doing all the dancing, I thought it was pretty freaking cool. Where is the caminic abao From's Cuban? She's Cuban, havan not not not not? And so Ricky did he have a mustache? I can remember him and Dave Girl are not. But Anthony Keats so is that is that something you would ever want? Okay, I'm good.
You shut that down quick. I'm all caught up on my stage. Hey, Ricky Martin's got one. The Niketas has one, My dad has one. Young thug was the rapper. He started it. But who was the guy in the bench though they had the newspaper? Oh yeah, I know you're talking about Bill Bridges, not Walls in the newspapers making his political statement and then he got up and either sang or wrapped or something. You'll see him down there. We're scrolling through it on YouTube right now. Uh. There
he is right there. Do you know who that is? It looks like my jumpsuit for the reveging idiots when we used to wear those. Huh, that's all right, j Balvin, that's whose name is? How come I never heard of him? I don't know who that guy is. Okay. Columbian caught up on the Columbian Pod. We're gonna wrap it up. That's the Grammy podcast. Edie. Appreciate you being here. Yeah, man, thanks for having me. Do you know one thing real quick?
I noticed like it made me a little sad to see Backstreet Boys kind of tucked away in the audience. I didn't see them like they were Maybe who's the Kevin Is that one of the guys? I saw him kind of back then, like man, that that's gotta be nuts too, like one at some point I was writing them and they were right in the front like all of us, and then slowly just get a move back and then you think you, oh, I think I see one back there, like dang, man, that's just man. We
still get to go to Grammys. People think we're cool, but I mean, if anyone want to go to the Grammys, like from back in the day, can't they just go, like Clint Black, can you just show up? I don't know they were okay. I thought of you, like, want a Grammy at some point in your life, you can just call him up and be like, hey, can I go to the Grammys? What did grettive? Didn't work that way? Maybe it's like the Masters, you win it, you can always plan it. Of course, what did Greta Van Fleet
win a rock album? These guys played I heeart, They played around for us, they played before us, and they were all too good and we were like, oh crap, I hope you watch it, hope you liked to our conversation that happens. There's a lot, don't it. Yeah, we get can get to people playing in front of us because they become because we sell a bunch of tickets that you put us at the end and we're like guys that we do like an entertaining show. But some
of these people are really good. Like christianson's open for us. He blows people away and we come on. It's still do good old Dominion, old Dominion Land. Come on, we could, we could run through this people open us. And now these guys Greta van Fleet put them on the list. Good God. Congratulations really to our people, Casey Dan and shape Um anybody else country wise it I mean nominated brothers Osborne. Yeah, they're the only country ones at one.
Good shot, good performance. Thank you very much. We'll see you see you next time. Check out Eddie's podcast, the sports show. It's called The Sore Losers. I'm gonna do that right after this. You're talking about today's sports. Also, there's a new I'll be cast up with Emma and Sasha. The dance pros were dancing with the stars. Uh, they were came to the house. We did a podcast and I really liked them, so not a lot of music talk, but about their life and dancing with the stars a
little bit. And no, no no, it's pretty good. Her mom mused up a detective and her dad was too like n C i S type crawd. Yeah. Wow, thank you very much, We'll see you next time. Bye, everybody.
