Blynd Submyshynz Episode 5: Billy Goate from Doomed & Stoned
Episode description
Blynd Submyshynz is a podcast from the wild minds of Jeff Wilson (KOOK, Glory or Death Records, Heavy San Jose) and JD Norton (Heavy San Jose). Our goal is to expose you to new music in the DIY scene, and hang out with musicians we know or want to know better. Every week we'll take submissions from any band who finds our email address ([email protected])...listen to them for the first time with our special guest and give honest reactions, and talk about things affecting DIY musicians around the globe.
In the fifth episode of Blynd Submyshynz, we talk to Billy Goate, who most people in the stoner and doom metal scene know as the man behind the epic music blog Doomed and Stoned. We reminisce about the time Billy flew down to San Jose to come to our first "festival", and talk about the underground music ecosystem, what Billy is listening to these days, jorts, his long-running podcast, and his new DIY record label!

And last, but definitely not least, we listened to new music recorded during the pandemic and the SCU complex fire in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains by our buddies in Vultures at Arms Reach (VAAR). Their new EP I/E is fantastic! We listen to some of Immigrate, and then attached the full version of Emigrate to the end of the episode...and it's a stunner. Do yourself a favor and strap on some headphones for this one.
