¶ The Reluctant Start to Chores
This episode of Bluey is called Housework. Dad and Mum enter the living room, both ready to tackle household chores. Dad is carrying a vacuum cleaner while mom holds a basket of cleaning supplies. As they glance around the room, Mum lets out a sigh, saying, Oh man, I'm just not a fan of housework. Dad, trying to keep things positive, replies, Let's just get through it, and then we can relax. In the background, Bluey and Bingo are in their own little world, immersed in a game of imagination.
Bingo is riding on Bluey's back as if Bluey were a horse. Giddy up, Bingo shouts, laughing with excitement. Bluey joins in on the fun, naying dramatically before exclaiming Ah housework. It's clear that neither of them wants any part of it. Seizing the moment they try to sneak away, but Mom quickly stops them with a playful freeze. Mum directs the kids towards the blanket fort they had built earlier. We're coming in here next, so I need you to tidy up the blanket fort, she tells them firmly.
Bluey, caught off guard, protests Aw, but we're playing. However, Mum is resolute, reminding them that they can return to their game once the blanket fort is cleaned up. Okay, Mom, Bluey and Bingo both agree reluctantly.
¶ The Silly Walk Challenge
As the parents get to work with mom spraying the windows and dad vacuuming the rug, Bluey and Bingo help in their own special way. Bingo hops around on one foot with a blanket draped over her, making funny noises as she goes, and Bluey, joining the fun, bounces around the room holding a bunched up blanket, chanting. Boop beep boop beep beep beep
Dad pauses mid-vacuum and watches the spectacle unfold, amused. These kids never just walk their normal walk, he remarks to Mom, who's still busy wiping down windows. Mum gives him a curious glance, so Dad points to the kids as they continue their exaggerated, silly movements. Bluey and Bingo are either bouncing, tiptoeing, spinning, or even pretending to be ghosts, anything but walking normally. See? Dad laughs. They never walk normally.
Mom, entertained by the observation, chuckles along with him. However, she reminds Dad that they have to finish the housework. But Dad, now fully engaged in this new experiment, has different plans. Huh, I'm not doing anything until one of these kids walks past here not like a complete fruit loop. he declares with a mischievous grin. Mum rolls her eyes but indulges him. Fine, at least set the rules, she says. What will it take for you to get back to the housework?
With a playful tone, Dad responds, One foot in front of the other. I don't think that's too much to ask. Just then Bingo walks by in what at first glance appears to be a normal walk. Mum is quick to show Dad. Ah, see? That looks good BOOM! 卡拉 But Dad immediately notices something amiss. Look at her arms. They're following her legs. They're meant to go the opposite direction. Mom realizes dad is right, so stays put to continue watching the kids.
As Bluey joins the scene carrying blankets over her back, Mum observes That's not even close to her normal walk. The chaos escalates as Blueie adds her own flair to the situation. Dad watches wide-eyed as she performs not one but three different crazy walks within the span of a few meters. He marvels at the variety of bizarre steps she manages to pack into such a small space. Why do they do it? Mom asks, laughing. Dad offers the simple explanation. Cause they're nuts!
Time goes by and Mom steps away to make herself a cup of tea as Dad settles in to watch the parade of strange walks continue. The kids are now fully immersed in acting out different animals. Elephant, Dad shouts as Blueie stomps around, her blanket flapping like ears. Bingo, not wanting to be outdone, hops like a kangaroo, giggling. When mum returns with her tea, she asks, What did I miss? Dad, grinning, catches her up. Chicken donkey.
Some of these moves look really hard to do, Mom says, impressed. Then Bingo dances past, spinning and twisting while singing B. Oh, we have a winner, Dad says definitively. That's impressive, agrees Mom. Dad attempts to mimic Bingo's very specific dancing spinning walk, but things quickly go wrong. Ow, my groin, he yelps, grabbing at his leg. Mum bursts out laughing, and Dad, determined not to be the only one suffering, challenges her. Well come on, you try it. Not one to back down, Mum agrees.
Soon, both parents are stumbling around, trying their best to recreate their kid's ridiculous bee. Yep. Walk. Dad cheers Mum on, saying, You've got it, babe, as she wobbles her way through a spin. Bluey and Bingo notice their parents' antics, and Bluey asks, bewildered, What are they doing? Bingo shrugs. It's clear mum and dad have strayed far from housework.
¶ Mastering The Bee-oop Walk
Eventually, Bluey and Bingo finished cleaning up their fort and returned to check on the grown up. Shouldn't you be doing housework? Bingo asked. Dad sheepishly admits with a laugh, Well we haven't started. The kids are confused, so Dad explains, We've been trying to walk like you guys. This makes Bluey and Bingo burst into giggles, but Dad, looking for a way out of his challenge, asks Bingo for help. Can you show us how you do the Bingo eagerly steps up to the table.
She carefully teaches her parents how to do the walk properly. You start with your feet out, then bring them in, she says, demonstrating each of the Mum and Dad try to follow along, calling out Play. Peep, peep. Just like Bingo. Before long, everyone is doing the absurd walk around the living room, laughing as they go. Yeah mum, you're doing it. Bingo cheers, and Bluey encourages, So are you, Dad?
As the episode winds down, the healer family gathers on the rug, taking a moment to rest. Mom lets out a deep sigh, glancing around the still, messy living room. Ah the house is still a mess, none of the vacuuming's done, but we can both now do the best. Walk. Dad nods in agreement, grinning. I think I'm okay with that.
With their chores now a distant thought, Bluey and Bingo run off to play. Mom and Dad share a proud, amused moment as they watch their kids walk away. After careful study of Bluey and Bingo's legs and arms, they scream, Yes! Cheering at the sight of the kids finally walking normally. But Mum quickly reminds Dad of reality. You know what this means, she says, to which Dad groans, knowing they'll have to start the housework. But for now, they bask in their small victory.
As the parents get back to their cleaning tasks, Dad attempts a half hearted be walk while vacuuming, much to Mom's amusement. Mom, still wiping windows, joins in, quietly chanting Beep.
