Lamborghini is part of VW's Audi Group, which also includes luxury brands Bentley and Dukatti. The Bologna based motorcycle maker is at a high point right now and it's almost one hundred year history, earning back to back to back Moto GP World Championship titles twenty twenty two, twenty twenty three, twenty twenty four. Now joining us from Borgo Panagali is the CEO Cloudio Domenicali Cloudio, thanks so much for joining us.

It's fantastic to have you on. I have to I probably should disclose if people don't already know, I'm a massive Ducati fan, I'm a collector, a rider, and so I'm to some extent biased. But I wonder how your sales numbers are affected by these wins. Is it still win on Sunday, sell on Monday? Is that how it looks for you?

Speaker 2

Yeah? Thank you much. Actually, I think that we are receiving fantastic boots, fantastic boost from the result that we have racing. This year have been the most successful year in our history ever in MotoGP. You know, we won nineteen races over twenty and is the fifth manufacturer championship in a row, the third rider champions in a row. So it's fantastic. The global market, it's it's under pressure,

it's a bit under pressure. So many manufacturers struggle. But here in this context the support of racing is helping us a lot. If we will see the final number at the end of the year when we count volume, it will not be our best year ever, but will be a very good year anyhow, and also the financial will be will be okay. Without releasing any number because we have not yet finished. So I would say that in this contest with some edwin that there is general in the market racing is helping a lot.

Speaker 1

What are the biggest headwains here? I mean, the economy, certainly in the US looks pretty strong. At your biggest market rates are coming back down. We get a little fire alarm going off here. I hope it's just a drill. Rates are coming back down. Are people in the US going to buy more and more motorcycles? Are we're going to get back to the you know, million plus motorcycles that we were selling at the peak this century in two thousand and seven.

Speaker 2

I don't think so. I think that that part the medium plus was a bit inflated by next ordinary low cost of financing, and so it was kind of not normal. But still the market is is going back and it will not get to decide, but still will be quite interesting, especially if there is a possibility to propose models that are innovative, which what we feel we will be doing

or we are doing with this. We call it the magic combination of technology and design, and so technology will pay will play a major part there so having products that actually can be excited and interesting even for young people and young generations that have been growing with the with the smartphone in hand, and so they are very much attracted by technology.

Speaker 1

In general, we see more and more special motorcycles, unique liveries, special editions coming out from Jucari, the speciality projects and Unica, where you allow people to customize products of their own liking. Is that poosting margins significantly?

Speaker 2

Oh yes, very much, and it's very positive on that side of course, but also it's very positive in shaping the brand like most probably one of the best, if not the best in the in the sports bike aren in offering one to one relationship with the client and customization, and so it's on the unique project that you know, it's a kind of think in which you come here and borgo panic gal and together with the designer, you can if you are one of our top client, design

is special bike only for you, with special material, special treatment, and actually we will ride on the bike one on one and we give all the material together with the bike and the warranty that Ducatti will never do another bike the same and on this project we can do something like very few, like thirty a year, but actually have a three year waiting lists. So it's very successful and it's more than the margin which a fourth very interesting. It is much more brand shaping.

Speaker 1

I guess I'll see you there than in twenty twenty eight. Claudio. I want to finally ask about dirt bikes, because you know you're winning so much on the track and you're famous as a street bike a superbike maker. But we saw Apaolochiabatti leave Moto GP for off road racing and I think you won your first Italian championship in the dirt. When are we going to be able to buy Jaccatti dirt bikes for ourselves, When is the retail crowd going to be able to get hold these products?

Speaker 2

A time is coming next year. Mid of next year the bike will be on sale, the Amix one bike, so the Desmo for fifty a mix. We'll be on sale worldwide, so of course even in the US, and we add it's a long project, so it's more than three hour working on that. And this year we raised

in the Italian Championship digectly. We take the title in that in order to make sure that once we sell the bikele it's exactly the level every dukatista is expecting and every passionate off road racer is expecting if a brand like Ducati decided to come in or is off road. So we are feeling already to come. And we'll also raise m X in the World Championship next year and we will start also making experience for Supercross, in which we have program for twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1

I love it racing off road with Desmo Dramaic valves. Claudia, thanks so much for joining us to Coatti CEO Claudio Domenicali coming to us from Bologna
