Bloomberg Audio Studios, podcasts, radio news.
Our single best idea and our single best idea is it has been just an extraordinary week. The team has worked NonStop from literally Thursday last to have a set of conversations that layout the moment we're in. The moment, of course, the politics of the nation and all the upper Thank you for the hate mail, the love notes and all on the election so much more. David Gera adamant that it will be eventful as we go to the inauguration. I guess he's right. It seems like there's
a news item every day. Of course, we have to decide the House in the next week as well, but just the conversation has been extraordinary. Let us begin the Washington Post today with the lead article on the future of the Pentagon. James Travitas joined US Admiral Stravitas with all of his work in Brussels for NATO, his work for the United States Navy. Here is Admiral Stravitas on the future of the Pentagon.
I'll give you three names that come to my mind. One is Mike Pompeo, who was the director of the CIA and then was the Secretary of State. West Point graduate number one in his class, he could help Number two the last National Security Advisor, former Ambassador Robert O'Brien, very well grounded, steady. I think he could be in a position to be helpful. And third, the last Deputy National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg retired, also understands
all of that. Those are names that I'm actively seeing under consideration in a Trump administration.
Dave, We're just.
Going to have to wait and see who he puts in positions of authority.
And mister Vedis, I did ask him if he would serve and he said he's never turned down a request from the White House. James travetas there of course of the United States. Maybe Michael Schules in with Iron Asset Management. Michael Schule really really interesting, particularly commodities, and of course that brings us over to China off of the election, our future relationship with Beijing.
I think this is a process. I think the the you know, she is in a position somewhat analogous to Drahi in twenty eleven twelve, or the US FED in two thousand and late two thousand and eight through late two thousand and nine, maybe even Jackson Hole twenty ten, which is there. He's in the middle of a process where he tries to rebuild domestic confidence and international confidence
in his country. And you know, my guts are that he'll he'll get that done eventually, but it'll be noisy and bloody process.
Michael schol I'm Beijing in the future forward, and of course we'll have much more stay with Bloomberg dot com in Bloomberg News through the weekend, and the terminal, of course will be there twenty four seven, the news flow off of the election into the weekend, and of course on the next week where maybe we'll see cabinet officers selected by the president elect. Again, thank you to all on your morning commute across the nation. Thank you for
listening on Applecarplay and Android Auto. Good morning in Washington and Boston, and Bloomberg eleven three to zero in New York, on Apple podcasts, on YouTube podcasts. This is single best idea.
