The White House says President Trump will officially unveil country based tariffs on Wednesday. At a Rose Garden event today, the President touted what he sees as the efficacy of his tariff threats. He said there will be at least five trillion dollars of total investment in the US soon. Here is Trump speaking earlier with reporters in the Oval Office.
Apple's at five hundred billion, as I said. But they always used to spend their money in China. Now they're spending it year. That means they're going to book They don't have any test. Remember, there are no tariffs if you do your product here, if you build whatever it is in the USA.
That is President Trump speaking earlier from the Oval Office. Earlier, Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said the President is also committed to implementing sectoral duties. However, she did say they will not be the focus of the April second event, and she deferred to President Trump about the timing of those levees, and Levitt declined to provide details when asked about the rate of those reciprocal tariffs and which countries would be hit.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has signaled he could withhold grants promised under the US Chips Act. We are told Lutnik is pushing for companies in line for federal semiconductor subsidies to substantially expand their projects in the US. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was in Staten Island today with a warning to residence for New York City's most conservative leaning borough. He says cuts to Medicaid would devastate the elderly while
also putting healthcare jobs at risk. Here, Schumer speaking to reporters at a local nursing home.
A lot of people directly get Medicaid, but so many others who were middle class families have parents in facilities like this, in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. If Medicaid were cut, these facilities would close. The director here told me that if Medicaid is cut, he's going to have to close.
That is Senator Chuck Schumer speaking there. As the federal government does proceed with its DOGE cost cutting plan, Medicaid and Social Security could be on the chopping block. Earlier this month, Elon Musk referred to entitlements as the big one to cut, saying it could save the government upwards of five hundred billion dollars. Now, the Department of Government Efficiencies efforts has faced a number of hurdles, including mounting
legal challenges as well as opposition from Democratic lawmakers. We go to France next, where a court in Paris sent shock waves through French politics. Earlier today, far right leaner Marine Leapin has been found guilty of embezzlement and barred from running for office for the next five years. Bloomberg Stephen Carroll tells us this could set up a power of vacuum ahead of the next presidential election in twenty twenty seven.
We'll be looking to see whether jo Dan Bardella, who is seen as really the next leading figure in the party, will take over as the Naser Ali's candidate in the presidential elections. He doesn't poll quite as strongly asthma In Lapan does. He hasn't been around quite frankly on the blisical scene as long he's under thirty, as oppose to Marie Lapan, who's been such a leading figure in French politics over the coming years.

That's when a mission called Polaris Dawn is slated to perform the first ever private spacewalk in the NCAA Women's Elite eight Texas b TCU by a score of fifty eight to forty seven and Yukon topped USC seventy eight to sixty four.
