Episode description

On this episode, Sarah explores how the smallest of quirky habits to the biggest of (sometimes unwanted) behaviors are all ways that we are trying to take care of ourselves- whether we realize it or not. She dives into the protective system we develop as children and how these protective patterns continue to manifest in our daily lives- at times in undesirable ways. She talks about how you can get out of the shame spiral by learning more about these parts through exploratory questions, about the importance of befriending even your protective parts by showing appreciation for their intention, as well as "feeling your feelings" in order to heal.

Exploratory questions:

1. How is this part trying to help you?
2. How long has it been helping you in this way?
3. What is it afraid might happen if it doesn’t do what it’s doing?
