Episode description

In this timely episode, Sarah talks about what has contributed to such division and polarization in our world today. She helps listeners "zoom out" in order to see the process of how anxiety and fear divides people from the viewpoint of a psychotherapeutic model, Family Systems Theory. She explains how the anxious process that happens within a nuclear family is the same process that happens on a macro scale in larger groups of people, societies, and nations. Sarah discusses how we can unintentionally empower the things we fight against when we try to control others and enter the world in anxious and demanding ways. She also speaks to the power of curiosity in learning to understand, connect and build relationships with people from different perspectives- and how this is good for your own health, and for the health of the world.
