Now let's tune in to today's episode. Hey lady.
Welcome back to another episode. In today's episode, I'm going to be sharing the simple the simple strategy that I use to make passive income blogging. Your number one goal as a new blogger is to make passive income blogging while you sit on the beach and spend time with your family. Am I right? However, your current stage is probably looking a lot like this. You're trying to get your block off the ground, but it's taking you forever. You're not having enough time to work on your blog.
You feel guilty that you're taking away time from your family because blogging takes hours and you just don't have time as it is making. You're making $0 blogging or cents in affiliate sales and no one is purchasing anything that you have to offer. Does either one of those four things listed sound like you? I totally get it. Believe it or not, I was right where you are When I began blogging, I didn't have a whole lot of time to work on my blog.
And when I did, I felt guilty that I didn't spend time with my boyfriend or my family. I tried to make money with affiliate sales, but my blog traffic was next to nothing. I was making sense. I worked on my blog for two years before I made my first money. It was very exhausting. I was worried that all the time that I had invested went to waste, that I had failed. You're probably feeling the same way too, right?
That maybe you just aren't good enough to make money blogging because nothing is working for you anyways. Maybe it just isn't meant for you. You feel like giving up? But here's the thing boss lady. It is possible for you to make passive income, but probably not in the way that you think. Affiliate marketing is great, but it can take years to finally see a good amount of income from that. And I'm talking five years of traffic building to make a thousand dollars a month.
And I don't know about you, but a thousand dollars a month doesn't even necessarily pay my bills and allow me to go on lavish vacations now does it? Truth is, the whole blogging world teaches you to focus on making money with affiliate marketing. And while I do think it's a good strategy to always try and implement, it won't make you enough to sit on the beach and pay the bills and, you know, quit the 9 to 5 and spend time with your family. So what's the fix then?
How do you make passive income blogging? By selling your own digital offers and services? And in this episode, I'm going to share with you the exact strategy that I'm currently using to make passive income blogging. As a mama of a three month old that doesn't have a lot of time to work in my business anymore, this is my tried and true strategy that also has been tested on many different blogging coaching clients of mine. It really works. So let's dive in.
Step one is that I create intentional blog post content. The first step when it comes to making passive income is to create this intentional content on your blog. And a lot of new bloggers don't realize that owning a blog and writing weekly blog posts is to only do these four things. Drive traffic to their site, show that you're an expert in your niche, get people on your email list to sell to them, and then sell them your products and services.
Writing blog posts are not to tell people your story of how you walked your dog this morning to be used as a journal to rant on about your life, to talk about you, you, you, or to talk about things that no one really gives a crap about. Truth is, you have to create a blog post content that will solve problems that your ideal reader faces. And to do this, you need to first know who you're writing for in the first place.
Understanding your audience, their needs, desires, and problems is key to building a relationship. Solving problems is an important component to creating a trusting relationship with your audience. It all starts with really understanding your audience. Of course, this is vital to the success of your blog overall. You must know who you're writing for, what they want, and how to help them.
So one of the first recommended steps to building your blog target audience is to develop a detailed description of your ideal reader. With this description in hand, you can build a blog that suits suits their needs and generates traffic. The process was a bit abstract for me, but eventually I realized that someone like me in the past is my ideal reader. And with that in mind, I always try to tailor my post links and downloads for someone like I was in the past.
It has helped me focus in the direction and cohesion of my blog. You want to know the reader very well. You want to know their problems, and you want to ask them and create surveys. Like, survey your audience, poll them on Facebook groups, pull your audience on the Instagram story. Like, really get to know about what they're struggling with and who they are. And you want to create solutions in your blog posts and in your freebies to what they struggle with. And yes, I know you can hear my baby.
He's kind of fussy at the moment, but we're just gonna push through. You okay? Huh? You okay? So step two is that I drive traffic to my blog post. So after I create intentional blog posts that are speaking to my ideal readers, problems that they face, then I obviously need to bring in the blog traffic. So I drive traffic to my blog in these four ways. I do Pinterest ads, I do my podcast, SEO, and social media. So let's explain the Pinterest ads super quickly. I. I run a traffic campaign.
I spend about $5 a day for three days to test out the first pin. If the ad is doing seemingly well, I prolong the ad to 30 days. And I may not increase or, and I may increase the price. If it's doing very well, I may increase it to $10 for per day. But you know, I'm only spending $5 a day on a pin to $10 a day. Like I'm not here running a hundred dollar ads every single day. I spend very little money. You can even do like $2 a day. Like it just depends on you and what you can afford.
You don't have to do Pinterest ads, but I, I do because, you know, I don't like just pinning on Pinterest for six whole months to build it. I'd rather run ads to get me faster results. So then I have my podcast. I think a lot of new bloggers think that podcasting is a huge waste of time. However, I beg to disagree. I received so many traffic, so much blog traffic from my podcast, believe it or not.
And I get so many people in my audiences and to sign up to my services and purchase my products simply by publishing episodes. So many people have came to me this week alone actually, and said that they found me through my podcast. And you know, I just like, I use my blog post as notes to fill my podcast episodes. So, like, you don't even really need to like create a whole new episode. You can use the content that you already have written on your blog post and turn it into a podcast episode.
And you know, I'm just filming right here on my phone. I have my baby in my arms. We're just doing this like personal or like on a more personal level now and not like, make it all professional. Like, you don't need to do that. You can just sit here on your phone, use the anchor.com they have like an app and you can just record it right on their app. And I'm just using my blog post as notes. Just get resourceful like I am right now.
I don't really have a lot of time to sit down in my microphone anymore and film a podcast episode because I have a baby to take care of. And it is what it is. I'm getting resourceful. So next I use SEO. So the number one way that I absolutely love to get blog traffic is by implementing SEO. This is the main traffic source for my blog because I've worked hard, hard for it, I was patient, and I rank my blog pages and post on number one on Google.
So first of all, I want to cover some standard guidelines when it comes to implementing SEO on your blog post. You want to have at least 1,000 words of helpful content right now. I suggest increasing it to like 1500 to 2000. I'm trying to push out posts right now that are about 4,000. Trying whenever I can. But make sure that your content educates your ideal readers and solves the problems that they're facing.
You want to have three plus images with all text, inbound and outbound links, keywords within your blog post, title, introduction, paragraph, and good density without the post. You can use Yoast SEO to help guide you, but just know that that's not going to always help you rank your. Your blog post.
Okay. I think that a lot of new bloggers think that if they use this SEO plug, the Yoast SEO plugin, that, you know, if they have the green light, then, then they're good and they're going to rank their keywords and rank their posts on Google. That is not the case. It's just to be used as a guideline. It's not really the strategy behind it. So just keep that in mind. So target one keyword as well, and then you can use different synonyms of that keyword.
So you have a keyword and you want to, like, switch it around often to like, different synonyms of that keyword. So social media. I also use Instagram to drive traffic to my blog. I write weekly blog posts and then I advertise them on my stories and within my posts. And then I link it. You know, I use links within my stories too. Go head over to the blog and read my blog post if this is gonna help you. Okay. So I also use my email list.
I write, you know, blog posts and then I use my email list to get traffic back over to my blog. And I just copy and paste my introduction of my blog post into an email and I use a link to read more of the blog post if they want to go back to read it if it's going to help them. So step three is I get people on my email list. So it's so crucially important to have an email as a blogger, especially if you want to make money.
So within my blog post, I offer free master class, the blog monetization master class. And I also other. I also offer other freebies like a starter blog course, blog post checklist, and more. The main reasons why growing an email list is so incredibly important is because it's yours, you own it, and you don't have any competition trying to tear you down like beating algorithms. An email list will also have a way higher engagement rate than social media will.
More. More people will open your emails and click on your links than they would if you were to post something on Instagram. Instagram doesn't even show your post to half of your readers. So you need to think about your email list like this. Your email list is full of people who raised their hand and chose to receive emails from you. They are interested in you and your content and what you have to provide for them.
So when you can get somebody on your Lima email list, you can then sell easily to them. And then step four I send out a funnel of emails so when somebody signs up to my freebie, they get a series of welcome emails. This introduce who I am and gives a ton of free value before I sell to them. A welcome email sequence is important set of automated emails that are sent out to new email subscribers.
Your welcoming bowl sequence comes after a new subscriber hands over their precious email address in exchange for your freebie and then becomes a loyal reader of your weekly emails and buyers of your products and services too. So think of it like this. You meet a new person at a workout class and you think to yourself, I think this. I think that we would be great friends. But to become friends with that person you need to first introduce yourself.
And then you probably share meaningful stories, bond over common interests, tell them about your favorite things and ask about theirs in return. Essentially, your welcome sequence does the exact same thing in your emails, you introduce yourself to your stranger subscribers, share a few stories, point out your favorite resources and tips, and invite them to share about themselves by including engaging questions.
But why would why should you go to the time and effort of creating a welcome sequence? We look at these stats. Okay, so welcome emails generate 320% more revenue than regular emails and newsletters. Over 74% of people expect a welcome email immediately after joining. Your email subscribers are a list of people who are interested in the content that you have to offer. And your open rate will be way higher than social media. So it also builds trust.
And there's nothing wrong with selling in your email, but the truth is to sell successfully but you need to do it the right way. So if you need help with writing your welcome sequence emails, just give me a DM on Instagram @ Boss Ladybloggers and I can give you some welcome sequence templates that you can purchase so you can write your welcome sequence email super super quickly and get it up and running. So step five is people join my mastermind and then I upsell them.
So at this point people will see the sales emails and then purchase my mastermind at the checkout, they're upsold to purchase a strategy strategy session call with me. I find that most people will book the call since I offer it at a discounted rate on the coaching strategy call. I will then upsell my coaching programs. I have three programs that are strategically designed for where a blogger is at in their journey.
I offer the Blog Launch Lab, the Blog Organization Lab, I offer the Blog Traffic Lab and the Blog Monetization Method currently. So if someone does not choose a blog coaching program and then I offer the Blogging Ladies Mastermind. So tips to note your funnel won't sell a bad offer if you're selling something to an audience that nobody will want.
I'm sorry to break it with you, but no one will buy no matter how great your sales funnel is, like how great your welcome sequence is, how great your sales sequence is, nobody is gonna buy. Even though you have these things set up, nobody's gonna buy unless you have a great offer, a great price for the offer, a great sales page for the offer. Like no matter how great these things are, like nobody's gonna buy if you have a bad offer that nobody wants.
You know, you also need to do your market research and really know your audience. So before I created the Blog Growth Lab, I sent out a survey asking questions if people would really be interested in it. Because I had a great because I had great features, feedback from them. I then decided to move forward and create an outline of the program and the sales page. But I didn't even create the modules or film the videos until I actually sold the program.
Because even though somebody could say that they would buy it, you don't even know for sure that they truly will until you actually in fact sell it. So you want to do your research to see if this is something is like, is this going to be something that people are gonna buy? What are their struggles with this certain topic that I'm creating this offer around. And then you don't even want to create the offer until you actually like have purchases on it, just like I did.
This is called pre selling an offer. So basically you want to do market research, you want to pre sell the program, and then you want to create it after somebody buys it because you don't want to put in all this work into creating a course or some kind of product if nobody is going to even buy it in the end. So that's why you want to do all of the research before, pre sell the program and then create it after. So in conclusion, this is my strategy of How I make passive income.
I create intentional content that helps solve problems my ideal reader has. I create freebies within blog posts in my blog post content. I drive a ton of traffic to my blog using ads, SEO, podcasts and social media. I get somebody on my email list, I send them a welcome sequence, I send them a sales sequence and then they join my mastermind if they want. And then I upsell them a book to book a blog strategy coaching call. They upsell and they upsell to the blog strategy call.
And then on the strategy call I upsell them to join one of my programs or they downsell to book three more coaching calls or whatever. So like I have like a lot of upsells and down sells and that is my strategy. That's it. That's how I make passive income blogging. It's all about content, having freebies in my content, driving people to my email list, using my email list to sell to them. And that's it. That's how I make passive income.
If you want to build out a strategic funnel together that your blog that for your blog, that will sell.
