Episode 15 - Marto (Comfy Shrooms)

My first episode from my short Sydney stay was with Marto, a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Sydney. Marto has been creating handmade ceramic mushroom incense burners for the last 3 years and has really formed his own style and lane with these pieces. Marto has also used his platform to share psychedelic and mushroom info, specifically in the mental health space, and how, when used respectfully, these substances can help connect us to deeper parts of ourselves and the natural world around us.

On this episode, we discuss psychedelics and its history, mental health, Marto’s ‘Santa was a Shaman’ zine, how the name Comfy Shrooms came about, cycling, and more.

This was a really enjoyable episode as Marto shared a lot of his personal experiences and thoughts on topics that can often be hard or difficult to speak on.
