- Educate yourself- Listen to podcasts, look into courses/classes, seek experienced mentors who have used the strategies you're interested in.
- Raising Capital- Share what you're doing with the people around you. As you grow and achieve more success, family, friends and others can become your best investors. If you can break down the numbers and provide a good deal, people will invest.
- Working with Contractors- Vet them thoroughly-- look at their previous projects, get referrals. Pay them on a schedule, never pay everything upfront and don't complete payment until all of the work is done. Don't be afraid to fire a contractor if it's not working out. Hire Slow, Fire Fast.
- Investing in our communities- In spite of what the media says, there is a lot of investment and development taking place in Baltimore. We should be the ones improve our communities and provide residents with great housing.
