Episode description

Have you had clients come to you for back and pelvic pain during pregnancy? Did they have prior injuries or experience trauma during a previous birth?

In today’s episode Lynn shares a case study about a client who was suffering from low back pain during her second pregnancy.

The client had a history of a herniated disc from a high school soccer injury. She had given birth 3 years earlier to her first child. In this first birth, she was induced and required an epidural. She pushed for 2-3 hours. In addition to her back pain, she was experiencing swelling in her vaginal and feeling like something was falling out. Upon assessment and utilizing listening techniques, the client’s diaphragm felt rotated. She lacked pelvic floor strength on the left and had a tight coccygeus on the right. She was presenting with an ischial splay.

Listen in to hear how Lynn was able to help this client decrease her pain and prepare for her next labor. The techniques mentioned in today’s case study are taught in the Holistic Treatment of the Postpartum Body course. A group cohort is kicking off for this course on September 30, 2024.
