Episode description

Birds and Bees Podcast goes live for the first time! After presenting for The Rocky Mountain Sex Summit in 2017. Al Vernacchio and Utha's Planned Parenthood Teen Counsel made themselves available for an evening of unscripted questions. Al and the Teens fielded questions from parents and teens about sexuiality, gender, "the talk," and overall sex education. Birds and Bees was ready with the recording equipment and that leads us to Episode 014. Some of the qusetions asked were: How professionals can be gender supportive in their assessments and questions to teens. If a child has been exposed to sex prematurely, will they be ok? Is there any difference between Herpes 1 and 2? How can I talk to my teen about sex without it being uncomfortable? How do you work with parents where morality trumps evidence based sex ed? How do I respect my child’s boundaries about talking about sex when they are resistant to talking about it. Do you have any resources for teens or children diagnosed with high functioning autism? Resources for the show: Al's resource page: Dr. Mary Jo Podgurski Resources for Teens: Bisexual support: Autism and Intellectually Delayed Teens and Sexuality: Book "Facts of Life" Book "Nonnie Talks About: Gender" Leave Birds and Bees an iTunes review Leave a Stitcher Review Birds and Bees Facebook Page
