How Has Social Audio Impacted Social Media and Podcasting?

Although some people may say social audio existed before, the pandemic gave rise to a new spin on social media, that being social audio. Audio “rooms” or “spaces” were created on apps such as Clubhouse and this concept exploded in popularity.

It seems we are now on the precipice of a new medium. Twitter has incorporated Twitter Spaces into its app, the Wisdom app recently celebrated a one-year anniversary, and Fireside has the feel of a production/broadcast app for audio and video.

There are numerous audio-oriented apps coming out, seemingly all the time.
