Transcript

Bill Cunningham, the great American. Of course, Shady Vance is the junior Senator from a great state of Ohio, and he's out in front. Last week he had a proposal of the US Senate to ban mask mandates and maybe the vaccine I'm not sure. Plus, the President is making his way away from Hanoi with the disastrous visit, promised to go to East Palestine. That's not looking good. The Ukrainian mess continues to be that and more. But

Senator JD. Vance, welcome again to the Bill Cunningham Show. And Senator can you tell the American people what your proposal is in the Senate to bar masking and maybe mandatory vaccines as well. Get ready for another another season coming ahead in the election. Yeah. So, I'm very supportive Willie of banning mandatory vaccine. That this legislation was focused purely on the mask mandates, and here's the basic idea in the background. So I've noticed over the past couple

of weeks, I'm sure you and your listeners have done the same. There's been this uptick of the conversation and discussion about remasking children at schools, remasking airplane passengers, and not just allowing them to do of course you want to wear a mask, you're allowed to, but forcing them to do it and using federal power to do it. So we actually, you know, we thought about, what if we just proposed legislation tried to sort of rapid fire

this thing through the Senate process to ban federal mask mandates. Would any Democrat actually stand up and try to stop us? Because the other thing that we hear, Willie, is that the Democrats don't want to reimpose mask mandates. They don't. They're running from the politics of this and from the public health bureaucracy like their hair is on fire. And yet when we propose this legislation on Thursday, Senator Jeff Markey from Massachusetts stood up and tried to block it.

So when the people tell you the Democrats aren't trying to bring back mask mandates, yes they are. In fact, there are Democrats at the US Senate trying to do exactly that, and so Mark he is among the worst. But nonetheless, I'm holding in my hand, and I'm sure you've seen

many things that no mask. Please, we're trying to be rational. Every study indicates unless you're in an operating room, unless you're with other doctors who scrub up and then put the mask on correctly, take the mask off correctly, which doesn't happen in the real world. The mask mandates imposed harms in the public that were well known before COVID, and dozens of studies have demonstrated mask induced exhaustion syndrome, and that every study from Lancet et Center indicates that

mask actually cause more harm than good. They don't permit prohibit the transmission, and in fact, what they do do is cause more difficulties. You have small children, and if you weren't, Senator JD. Vance, and your kids are in some public school in Cincinnati, I have every indication from CPS they're going to impose a mask mandate as many schools have already on five and

six year olds. How asinine is that? And would you protest as a parent, What would you do, Senator, if that was your kid who's six years old, forced to put some silly mask on that hurts some psychologically and physically. Yeah. The other thing, Willie, and we learned this during the pandemic, is that the children who were masked at school had much

worse developmental delays. Right, They couldn't see their colleagues, their friends, the teacher's mouth move, and that turns out is a very important part of speech development for children. So we actually harmed the development of our children doing this, in addition to all of the other problems you identified. Look, if this happened in Cincinnati, I would absolutely protest as a parent. My problem here, Willie, is that federal dollars. I don't just have to

protest. Federal dollars are being used to reimpose some of these mandates. And if we're doing that, why what is the justification for it. I haven't heard a single good answer. Now, you saw Anthony Fauci on TV over the weekend. Of course, he's on TV every weekend because the guy's addicted to the spotlight. Anthony Fauci says, there are some studies support the scientific

advisability of masks. Well, first of all, there aren't. If you look at the difference between the gold standard randomized studies and the observational studies. The randomized studies, the good ones always show that masking does not prevent the transmission of a respiratory virus. The counter argument you hear from these crazy people, Willie as well, then why do surgeons wear operating masks. Wear masks in an operating room? Well, because of I mean, it's disgusting,

but blood and other things that you can prevent wearing a surgical mask. I'm not saying there's no purpose to it, but it does not stop a small respiratory virus. It's like putting up a chain link fince to prevent mosquitoes from entering your yard. It just doesn't work. The particles are too small. We've got to follow the science here and not the crazy people who are obsessed with masking four year olds before we talk about East Palestine and also the Ukraine.

This is from the Bell and Melenda Gates Foundation, not exactly a conservative think tank. The Gates Foundation says unmasked Swedes fared much better than other Europeans forced to wear masks. A twenty twenty two study comparing states in America found no association between mask mandates and the spread of COVID and the mandates who are irrelevant when it came to the transmission of the COVID virus to others. It was complete lie. So can you. I've made the comment this is virtue

signaling. It's also the idea that we're in charge and you're not. It's got nothing to do with medicine or disease. Do you think do you think there's more of psychological impact on individual Americans when the government says we're in charge and you're not, and you can't work unless you wear a mask or go to school. That it's about a lot more than simply science, about a lot more than the transmission of a virus. You're exactly right about that,

Willie. I think it's about a power trip for the public health herecrafts. If you look over the past hundred years of American history, you often have burecrafts in charge of public health who get way out ahead of the science in a way that infringes upon the liberty of their own citizens. But I also

think it's about sort of enforcing compliance among the citizenry. You know, the thing that really bothers me about the mask mandates, other than what you said earlier about the effect on small children, is that created these separate class of citizens. There were those who were compliant, there were those who refused to comply, And it felt sometimes like our leaders who were turning these two groups

of citizens against one another. We can't go back to that. We cannot go back to our children seeing us get super anxious and stressed out about a respiratory virus. We can't go back to turning our fellow citizens against each other because they make different health decisions about their own bodies. We cannot repeat the mistakes for the last two years. Willie, I don't know about you, but I made mistakes during COVID. I you know, I was not anti

mask two years ago. I thought, why hell not. This is what they're saying we should do, so why might as well do it? And then you learn, and you get smart, and you realize you made some mistakes, and then you incorporate those mistakes into what you do in the future. And that's what I'm angry about. These public health bureaucrafts have not incorporated the last two years of learning into their recommendation. It's like groundhog Day,

only it's with the stupidest advice from two and a half years ago. We haven't learned anything new, and that's the problem. Well, government needs a crisis that sees more power. A possibly toxic effect of prolonged mask wearing, especially for pregnant women and children, was identified in the Review of Scientific Literature

published by the Gates Foundation. They warned that mask wearers are rebreathing carbon dioxide at levels linked with adverse effects on the heart, the cardiovascular system, respiratory, cognitive, and reproductive systems. Eight times the normal level of carbon dioxide is ingested. It's toxic. Research suggestive mask wearers, specifically those who wear a mask for more than five minutes, are breathing eighty times the normal level

of CO twos into the lungs, causing a multitude of health difficulties. To me, this is beyond debate. But you're telling me, Senator that the Democrats, especially liberal Democrats from Oregon and from Massachusetts, want to keep it going, and they will not. They won't sign onto your legislation. They

use their Senate power to stop the legislation from passing. Willie, it gets into the process of the Senate. But if you advance a piece of legislation and nobody is opposed to it, I mean common sense things like let's say you know today's nine to eleven honoring a hero on nine to eleven, you can pass it instantly as long as nobody objects to it. We try to use that process to get this mask mandate ban passed on Thursday, and there

were Democrats who stood up and stopped it. So when people say COVID is over, when people say that Democrats aren't trying to bring back mask mandates, that is a lie. They use their power in the US Senate to prevent us from banning these mandates. They should be held to account for it. And look, we're gonna keep on working on this legislation. But it's important for people to know in the Intern, Democrats have an opportunity to go along

with us, and they refuse to do. Secondly, East Palestine is out of the news. I can recall you and a small creek dropping rocks into this little stream and all of a sudden oil type products came flowing into the top. And the President has promised to make visits and make it a priority

East Palestine. I know he can find his way to Hanoi, he can't find his way to East Palestine. As we sit here on nine to eleven, what's the latest on East Palestine and the President's involvement to keep his promise if he can remember it, well, Look, it's failed to keep his promise. It's shameful when a president makes a promise to visit a place, he ought to actually do it because it shows the people on the ground that he actually cares, that he listens to him, that he's actually trying to

understand what they're dealing with. You know, things that East Palestine. I mean, they're making progress in the cleanup. It's going much much more slowly than it should. You still have some residents who have some health problems. You still have an open question of what does the long term exposure to these toxic chemicals do. We're working hard to sort of find answers to these questions. The other thing, Willie, is Governor DeWine, our governor Ohio,

proposed that Biden declare the area a natural disaster. Now why is that important? Because it opens up some healthcare resources and some other money that the federal government for areas that have suffered these terrible disasters. And of course he's Palestine. They didn't invite this on themselves. This isn't a handout. This is helping a community that deserves the help. Biden has completely refused. So I

don't even care that much about him visiting. The symbolism is important, of course, what I do care about is why hasn't he actually acted on government de Wine's request. That suggests he really doesn't care and importantly, his own government isn't paying attention to people on the ground. Who's the president? Who's in charge of the executive branch? Obviously it's not Biden because he's going to

bed, he's sleeping. Who's in charge? Forty percent? By the way, Willie, forty percent of the days he's been in the oble office, he's been on vacation. That is a record for any president of the last I mean, I think the entire history of the oval office. But who is in charge? That's a good question. I don't think it's Biden either. I don't know if it's the chief of staff. I don't know if

it's Vice President Harris. But we have a motley crew of people running the executive branch of the US government right now, and what's scary is we actually don't know who who really is behind it. So you will, yo, I will make the pitch here. I know it's early and people are sick of elections, but we have two really important elections coming up in the state of Ohio. One of course, is this abortion ballot where I think they're

trying to impose really radical abortion policy on the state of Ohio. That's issue one. We got to vote that down to vote No. One. Issue one of a Number two is actually we've got a really important sin election coming up in the state of Ohio. If we don't get better people in the United States Senate to push back against the Biden administration, we're going to be in a warlor hurt because, let me tell you, Joe bad Joe Biden with Senate Democrats in the majority is much much worse. I know, we

got to run. But Ukraine, we have a president sending depleted uranium shells to kill more Russian soldiers. We have cluster bombs all over the place. There was a UN report about a week ago that a half a million have been killed Ukrainian soldiers and Russian soldiers. No end is in sight. We're spending well north of one hundred billion dollars without a defined purpose. Can you

give me your synopsis on Ukraine and what jd. Vance believes is the way out of this morass in which we find ourselves using depleted uranium shells and cluster bombs, which is against UN mandates relative to how to fairly kill somebody, which is again a different discussion. How do we get out of Ukraine? Let me offer this observation first, Willie. Everything that we're told about the

Ukraine War, think about it turns out not to be true. We're told that it's a war for democracy, and yet President Zolenski, the President of Ukraine, has suspended elections until the crisis is over. Who knows when that crisis will actually be over. We say that it's a war for freedom, and yet Lynsky is arresting clerics within the State of Ukraine, priests and other

officials who don't agree with his government's policy. We're told that it's about America's moral leadership, and yet we're sending them weapons that are so dangerous and frankly, so dangerous to civilians that they're banned in most of the civilized world. We certainly don't use them ourselves. So we are actually squandering our moral leadership by continuing to push the never ending war. My view, Willie is we haven't accomplished anything. It's a quagmire. A lot of people are getting killed.

Ukraine is devastated. The country before the war started had forty million people. It now probably has about twenty five million people, and the infrastructure is completely destroyed in the entire eastern half of the country. The Russians, of course, have suffered a lot of losses. I just want the killing to stop. And my view from the very beginning is that if we're going to fund them, we have to have a strategic goal in mind. What are

we trying to accomplish, what is the endpoint? How does it serve America's interest. The fact that no leader Democratic Republican can answer those questions suggest we need to get out of that war and really try to bring it to a piece of resolution. That's been my view from the beginning. That was an unpopular view a year and a half ago. It's now a more popular view. But this has to stop. The killing has got to stop. Willie. What it happens when we have an energy crisis in Eastern Europe, a

food crisis, a refugee crisis. What happens when tens of millions of Europeans and Africans are starving to death because we've allowed the bread basket of Europe to be decimated. The unintended consequences of this thing. The further it goes on are going to devastate the entire planet. We've got to be more careful. We need real statesmen, people who are actually pushing form, cooler heads and wisdom to prevail. Joe Biden's going to bed, So we're in trouble.

Senator JD. Evangel once again snoring, But thank you for coming on the Bill Cunningham Show, and Senator you're doing a great job, and thank you very much. Thanks Lay take care.
