Episode description

Van Compton sits down with host Trey Schaap and discusses what she has seen in her 33 years at Little Rock and how she made the transition from coaching basketball to coaching volleyball. She explains how they recruited a 6-foot-5 middle blocker in the last recruiting class and tells how there are more women’s volleyball players in the United States than a certain prominent sport (listen to find out which one!). Compton also recalls playing the Razorbacks in Barnhill Arena last year, on the potential of this year’s freshman class and discusses what was so special about the 2014 Trojan team and why they should have been a Sweet 16 team that year, falling in the NCAA Tournament’s second round. She also explains how her hidden talent is a metaphor for her coaching and how the Trojans handled the pandemic with so many international players.
