Cheers, queers. Today we are talking to Kristen Baker and Stacey Powell, Co hosts of Let's Go Travel Show, a brand new travel series made specifically for the queer community. Welcome to the podcast, Kristen and Stacey. Thank you. Thank. You for having me. Happy to. Be here.

Yes, we're so excited. This projects is really what we all need as we're coming out of the pandemic and looking for places to go. So first question for us is what inspired the idea for Lesco Travel and how did the concept of a travel show for the queer community come to life? Yeah, well, so I'll kind of start 'cause I was actually scouting to do a lesbian dating show, like a traveling lesbian

dating show. I thought, okay, I can take two single lesbians to all these international lesbian festivals because they were starting to pop back up after Kovid. Some didn't survive, but some were kind of coming back with a

vengeance. And I thought, wow, wouldn't it be cool to take two single lesbians to like the Velvet Ibiza Lesbian Festival, the Sappho Women's Fest in Greece, and then maybe to some places in America where we have lesbian festivals and, you know, travel and kind of get an idea of what's it like to be at these lesbian festivals, to be single. Do you meet people? Do you not? And so I start we I took a year with my Co producer Lisa Forehand and we scouted 2 of the locations.

And as I started doing math in my head and realizing you know, this is not going to be the easiest thing to do. So because you would need a mic on the two single people, you would need cameras going almost at all times if possible to make sure you don't miss anything. And then what if they didn't find love and, or what if it was like, it was a boring show because all the lesbians sat around and looked at each other? Not that that happened, but like you just, you didn't know.

And so as I, I remember, I was in scouting the Sappho Women's Festival last year in Greece. And I just thought, why not just do? And Stacey and I just started dating. And I was like, gosh, Stacey would make a really good host. We should just change this whole thing. I can do the camera and Stacey can host and it'll then we'll just have need one room because a lot of these places were comping us like that was a nice thing like Velvet Ibiza, Sappho, Women's Fest.

A lot of the places like Diva destinations travel, they comp us the the location, the the room and then we get ourselves there. But I was like suddenly like, I don't need 4 rooms. I just need one room and that's a lot easier. And wouldn't it be fun? Like Stacey's a late in life lesbian so she's like, I'm experiencing like all there is about lesbian and queer life And. And she said yes when I asked her if she wanted to do a travel. Show. I mean, duh, of course I'm gonna

say yes. But you know, like I over the, you know, Tal's been around for 17 years. And so at different times I've had other people pitch travel shows to me and I never really wanted to like the numbers that they were throwing at me that they, they wanted me to fund it, tell her to fund it. And I was like, this is just too expensive right now for us. Like we couldn't really afford it. But because I can do the camera and Stacy's the host, it makes our expenses like much lower.

And so it was kind of the first time for me, it was actually viable where I was like, oh, this is a price point we can do it's original content for Tello. We're lifting up all these great lesbian events all around the world and creating like letting other people know what are safe spaces, which is very so important for us as like, you know, not just women, but you know, gay women. So, so that's how it that's how it had. Do you have anything to add

babe? I mean, that pretty much covered it. But yeah, like I said. So when she asked me, I was like, yeah, of course I want to do a travel show with you. Like this sounds amazing. And it is so. Who doesn't like travel? I mean, there are some people who don't like travel. But you I mean so if you. If season 2 if you need people to help theor and I can, yeah. Got it. How do you choose the destinations featured on the show? That's a good question.

It's just happened sort of naturally, like we'll meet people and they'll say, oh, well, I have a friend in let's just say Boston who runs, you know, a witch shop. We were just there. What you should reach out to her and see if she would be into you going there to interview her. You know, so we'll just that's sort of how it happened this year. I think we do want to try to plan a little bit more in 2025 and have a schedule because I feel like we just kind of like winged it this year.

It worked out. But it would be nice to like sit down and have more of a plan. But for right now, that's how we did it. It just kind of happened naturally. We got asked to go places. Yeah, so we do look at lesbian festivals that are happening, and we really wanted to focus as Americans.

We wanted to focus on the international ones, something everyone's of Dinah Shore. A lot of people have heard about the Miami Women's Weekends, but very few Americans know that there's all these incredible European lesbian festivals and they have a very different vibe. So I think that's what we wanted to do too, is like go somewhere that a lot of like American lesbians haven't been and experience it so that they can know about it. That's awesome. Yes, definitely educate the Americans.

Yeah, You know, Dina's great. I, I I think it's fantastic. I think it's a wonderful place for women in small towns, you know, that don't always have a chance to express themselves as openly. But everyone knows about the Dina. Like, they don't need our publicity. They don't need our show. But Velvet Ibiza, you know, I think American women would love that. Yeah. Are there any specific places that you feel are like particularly good for the LGBTQ plus community to visit?

I. Guess I mean, I feel like, well that I mean what's coming to mind right away is we were just in Salem filming the Halloween episode and y'all would not believe how many gay rainbow flags were hanging from the restaurants, the stores. I mean, it was just making my heart so happy. I couldn't get over it. We, we were trying to take video of all of them too, like just to be able to show everyone like look, there's so much support here and I wasn't expecting that.

I thought we were just going to film like a witchy Halloween episode. I didn't realize that I was going to feel so much love for the gay community. They, they even had rainbow crosswalks on some of the crosswalks. And I asked someone, I was like, is it pride? Like is, is October pride in Salem? And they're like, no, it's in, it's in June. But they all had the, the pride flags up. So that was, that was

surprising. I would say there's some really incredible lesbian festivals around the world too that are incredibly welcoming. And the other place that might not be on a lot of radars is Croatia, which in general is a very, very safe space just for a lot of tourists. So they didn't have a lot of rainbow flags, but they did. You just felt safe, like no one really batted an eye when we were holding hands. That I think you wouldn't think of. That's really good to know.

It's in my if. To me, it's crazy how much a rainbow flag can make you just feel welcomed and comfortable because it's something so small. But I know if I see it in a business, I'm just like, I know I'm safe. Yes. And it was everywhere. Everywhere. I mean, just unbelievable. So yeah. Yeah. So it's nice to hear that there were destinations that like did surprise you in a positive way with how inclusive they were.

Did you have the opposite experience at all so far in the in the show or it was less inclusive than you were like imagining? That's a that's a good question. I, I, one of the ones that we talk about in season 1 is Jamaica. We were very worried about Jamaica because it is not known to be LGBTQ friendly. And I will say like, and we were, we, we talk about it quite a bit and we were on a, a resort that when we didn't go off of it and we felt very safe there. But I don't think we've had a

place that I felt. Well, Athens. We weren't sure when we got to Athens. That's true. Yeah, I guess I would. I would say Athens because we just weren't sure we had just got there and literally like landed, got in the car. But I mean, what did you think, did you end up feeling? I still I didn't. Yeah, I wasn't. Sure, I didn't hold Stacy's hand as much. As I, as I, as we normally do. Because you know when you get that little Spidey sense. Yep, I understand 100%.

I would say Athens, yeah. And and we, we it might be an area specific thing as well, like in this area, it's better than this area. But yeah, I didn't. Yeah, yeah, Athens. Yeah, it's all an experience too because not everyone's going to have the same experience going to places so but it's good to hear other people's opinions and experiences in each place. Yeah. I, I will say though, I mean we've been doing this almost a year and for the most part, I have felt comfortable everywhere

we visited. So I will say we have not run into any major issues. Mm, Hmm. Thank goodness. Knock on. Yeah, knocking. Knocking on wood, right? Yes, keep it that way. How does the show highlight and interact with local LGBTQ plus cultures in the places that you visit? Yeah. Well, I mean, like we said, we we do try to always visit like a lesbian owned business and interview that person and. We always ask them how. Yeah.

What is the community like? What's it like here to so that people know like from a local perspective? Because we can say all day we're a tourist. Oh, it was great. But we're going to the very touristy areas. So we always like to ask the locals like what is your experience living in this? Community like any. Specific.

Sorry, go ahead. I was just going to say and they would like to take us to like a their favorite restaurant or their favorite coffee shop where they feel safe and where they feel like their strong community is there. Yeah. I love that. Are there any specific stories that have particularly resonated with you? I'm. Really. That's a good question. I'm thinking yeah. I mean, Imani's story comes to mind. Yeah, that's a good one.

She's, you know. And it's it's only, it was only our like, it's our second episode, like after New Orleans. We were in Lafayette, LA, So it was very early. Yeah. But. But she was just so inspiring. Yeah. How old is she? She's. Young, 26. And she just was determined to open up her own yoga studio. And she kept going to the bank and getting denied and trying to get. Places to rent to? Rent to and and she just wouldn't get she's like, I just refused to give up.

And because she wanted a yoga studio, studio where all women could come all shapes and sizes, all different colours. It didn't matter. And she just wanted women to feel safe to go to gather and do yoga and feel safe. And she was just she really inspired me. Yeah, she did yeah. Because she just refused to give up. And I just love that.

Like, she just knew. She knew she was supposed to open that yoga studio and she wasn't going to stop until she got help to do it. Yeah, and she speaks a lot, too. She's a, a black queer woman. And she, she in the interview, she speaks a lot about feeling empowered by her ancestors, by those who came before her. And she's in, you know, a very

Southern state. She's, you know, in Lafayette, LA. So it was really cool to get her, her vibe and her take on being a businesswoman, being a young businesswoman, being a minority business, you know, woman of color, a queer woman of color. So that was that was really interesting. That's a great message to send the people and I'm I feel proud of her right now. Yeah, Oh yeah, just. That episode actually for your viewers and for the two of you.

It's free on Telo, so if you don't have a Telo subscription, you can go to the Lesco travel show page. And if you go to season 1, it's episode 2 Lafayette. And it is an it's such an empowering interview and she's such an amazing soul. Like it was really cool. Did you guys get to do a yoga class with her? No, I wish. I wish we we opted to go and eat brunch. That's valid. I mean, you know, we're we're the brunch and gaze so. Yoga versus food. Right.

No, that one food is part of the travelling experience. So like, you know. We did get her. We did get her to do some yoga poses, though. And she's, oh, just beautiful worm. Yeah. Yeah. It it'll make me want to go try to learn yoga and watching her do the yoga pose. Yeah. OK. The Switch gear is a little bit from the content. Kristen, you mentioned earlier like when you were conceptualizing the show, some of the challenges logistically with filming, which kind of led

to this format. So now that you're doing Let's Go Travel in its current format, what have been some of the challenges or like with actually with filming it like while you're kind of like not doing that so. We really the the setup that we have, you know, one of our inspirations is Anthony Bourdain, right? Like we love Parts Unknown. I watch that a lot. And I think how real he is and how he's like really trying to find those unique things in each area that he does.

But we don't have the budget of Anthony Bourdain. And, you know, we can't close the shop down and like, you know, buy outfits or, you know, go to a, you know, so we, we can't have the what I call the footprint that he has that a lot of bigger travel shows might have with Abu Mike. And, you know, So what we try to do to really give that perspective of a traveller and as a, as a couple is we have

like really small camps. So like I film everything on an iPhone and I have like, you know, like a little mic that sits on top. And we have, we do have like Lavaliers when we sit down and do interviews. But you know, when we go on like a tour, like we just, we keep talking about Salem because we literally just landed. Yesterday. But when we go on tours, we want to be respectful of not taking the tour guide stuff and just

putting it up on camera. So what we'll do is like we'll hear, hear the tour and then we'll go record once the kind of will be the laggers behind and then I'll go, OK, Stacey, mention what they just said. Now it's all historical stuff that we can look up on the Internet. So it's, you know, it's not like they know some secret that no

one else knows. But it's nice to kind of be on a tour and get the experience of, you know what the you know, I don't know if anyone's a big Hocus Pocus fan, but we went on the Hocus Pocus tour of Salem. And so, but again, like we didn't want to take her bits, like we didn't want to take what her stuff was. But we can Google. Here's the house that Alice lived in. Here's the school where they shot at.

So we do want to be want to honor their proprietary information, but also present it to the show because people are hocus pocus fans and they, you know, want to know that information. So I think one of the challenges is kind of honoring the tour, but not kind of like Co opting it or stealing from it or you know, honoring their their proprietary or their information or the way they present it. That makes sense. Yeah, that makes total sense.

So it feels it seems like the the show has found a good mix of like the tourist experience from the tour piece and then like the local flavor by speaking with locals or going into their shops and things like that. Which is pretty good overview honestly to tackle in like 1 episode. Yeah, and the episodes aren't long. It's not like 1/2 hour TV, they're like 12 to 15 minutes.

So we really try to keep it interesting for the person, you know, for the viewer and make sure we're hitting the highlights and and the nuances of us traveling as a lesbian couple as well. Like that very much kind of plays into it too. And how, and Stacey's a big foodie, so she's always going to want to go to the restaurants

and show the food. And here's what we ordered and, and you know, so, so we want to wrap that into as well because like you said, travelling is also about food as much as it is about, you know, the location. So I think we look more like influencers when we're out and about than we do like like travel show people now, unless I, I can bring a big camera rig out with a big light on it if I want to look fancy and like, and a lot of those times we'll interview when we do have

permission. So I'll pull that out and like, you know, really highlight the space that we're in. Yeah, I love that because you're very low key in areas and that allows you to get into places where a big production wouldn't be able to, especially when you need permits and all that stuff. Well, exactly. And they're paying money to shut it down or, you know, go on like a private tour or something like

that. And and like I said, like we just, we don't have that kind of budget, you know, but but we do the best that we can with what we have and in giving that experience to to the people. Yeah. We touched on it a little bit earlier, but when traveling, especially when you're in the queer community, you always have to be conscious about safety and inclusivity in those locations.

What are some of the best tips or advice you've discovered while working on this project that you could give to someone traveling? What comes to mind?

I mean, right away what comes to mind is like, I'd like you just said when you said you sensed you shouldn't hold my hand, like listen to your gut feeling, you know, I mean, if you don't feel safe, then you should probably not hold hands or kiss or you know, I just, I really do believe in like listening to your gut feeling on a situation to feel safe or not. And I think sometimes women are told to like, not listen to their intuitive self or they talk themselves out of it.

Like they might go, oh, this person, like they'll get the intuitive hit. Like that person doesn't seem safe for that place. But then they'll go, no, they're probably a nice person or I'm probably prejudging if I listen to that every time. And I think that's been a a huge piece of it. Like I'll be like, Nope, let's

not let's cross the street here. If I see someone who's coming at us that looks unsafe or if I don't get a good vibe from like even a waiter or an establishment, I have no problem getting up and leaving, paying if, you know, if we bought something, paying the bill and going. But I'm, you know, I have, I have no problem prioritizing our safety, especially Stacy's over, you know, being being kind and,

and so I think that's a big one. Also, if you're planning a trip and you have time, you could you know, Google, do some research online. That happened to us, but Jamaica. I've started Googling and if you Google Jamaica gay, anything like that, you're going to be like horrified. So I got scared. So Kristen called the resort and she just straight up asked.

So I mean, you could call the resort, you could call where you're going find, you know, a tourism company for the city that you're traveling to and ask. That's great advice. Also someone did I'm going to see if I can find it. You might want to edit this out but someone did send us there is AUS government. If you're going overseas you can register that you're going to be in a location and that's. True, I forgot we just found this out. Yes, who was it was Brianna. Brianna. This is.

Great. I think this is really important too. And I think it's, Yep, the travel government website. So it is my travel.state.gov and you can Register here. If you're going overseas, you can share your travel plans with the Department of State. They can contact or locate you if there's an emergency, get real time updates about health, weather, safety and security in the country. So I feel like I think it's

called STEP. Let me go to the home page because she gave me my travel Gov and it's just an official website of the US Department of State. And so I think if the, if you're going to a place where you're concerned or it doesn't have the best record or like that's a place you can register your location as AUS citizen. That's very helpful to know. Did not know that existed. I had no idea. That's really fascinating. And yeah, you know, you know, something powerful.

Knows where you are. Well, that's exactly, I do think sometimes as Americans, we take for granted like our safety overseas when that's not always the case. But when the US government does step in, like I feel like they are, people aren't going to mess with that. So, you know, you at least have your, you know, government agency kind of looking out for your travel and safety.

So that's definitely something that when Stacey and I travel, if we ever go, we don't really want to go to a country that's unsafe because that's not like I've seen a couple of Instagram travel couples who will say, we're going to a country that's unsafe. Here are things to do. And it's like, you know what? That's not that's not for us. That's not what let's go travel show is about. And we're not going to go to a country where where we don't feel or to a place that we don't feel safe.

Like I said, Jamaica, we called, we checked and we actually saw three other gay couples while we were at the resort. We had a couple's massage in their spa. So like we can safely say like this is a space, safe space. If you want to go to Jamaica, you can go here as a gay couple and and it'll be OK. Oh, that's good. So Speaking of future destinations, I hope because you mentioned season 2, perhaps there'll be more planning

different destinations. Season 1 was organic, so if you had to plan the ultimate queer travel itinerary like monies, whatever, which three destinations would make the list and why? Oh. Geez Louise. Oh. Like places that we've been already or places that we haven't been or we can. You can pick whatever you want. What? What would be the top three like? You could pick like 1 you haven't been to but it's on the top of the bucket list or one you've gone to and you would love to go back.

I want to go back to Croatia. I'll pick that one right away. Number one, yeah, 'cause it was amazing. I will talk about Croatia all day if you wanted me to, yeah. But OK, let me try to think of somewhere we haven't been that I'd want to go. Well, I can say a place that we probably would want to go and be Costa Rica that neither of us have been to. Yes. And I feel like they have this great mixture of adventure and

relaxation. It's like, do you want to go like hang at the beach and just like chill or at the pool? You can do that or you can go zip lining and go to waterfalls and hike and play and like see the sloths. So I feel like that has a great mix of things and we haven't been there yet. That's one of the places we'd love to go. Oh, Portugal. Oh yeah, Portugal. I want to go to Portugal so bad. Yes, I, I, we went on our, my wife and I, when we got engaged, we went to Portugal 10 out of 10.

Portugal's amazing. It's kind of like we would definitely go back to like it's. A good it's really everybody says that. So good, there's a lot of variety of stuff you can do and it's like a small enough country that you can see a lot in a short amount of time. Like it's it's cost effective. Like it's a good trip. How is the food? It's fantastic, those pastia de Natas, the little custard tarts, once you have one you will eat them the whole trip. Like it's great.

Oh my gosh, I love that so much. Oh, good. Yeah. So since there's two of us, we can have sex or we'll just take 4. But one of the places that we are going in October is Italy. So we're going through kind of like the center. So we're going to, I think, Milan, Florence, Assisi and then Rome. And have you ever been to Venice? No, I have. I have not. OK. Afterwards we need to talk about Venice and then I'm going to need tips for Milan once you go. OK, got deal.

That's a that's a good exchange. That's a good exchange. So yeah, so I definitely Italy is and and the problem is you could say Italy for like 3 of the places, right, like the Malfi coast, which I love and Stacey hasn't been so like have to get Positano and Sorrento and Amalfi. So, you know, like Italy could be its own its. Own It could be its own season, honestly, There's so many

places, yeah. And, and I do want to put a plug in for Lesbos Greece. I I am on like a big kick that all lesbians should go to the motherland, so to speak, the birth piece of Catholic, what we are named after it is it is a magical island. It is like. Magic. Magical Island. It is tiny. It is not easy to get to. It's incredible. I. Wanna go? Every second to get promise. Yep. So Fiore, I think we have to mix this these questions up a little bit because now that we're here,

you ask again. Yeah, OK. So on our podcast we have been recently covering Thai media, so Thai girl love shows and. Yeah, someone just sent me something about that for Telo. Yeah, it's very popular. The audience is very passionate, but also you have no risk of cancellations over there because everything is like either one season and done or like they have a complete story and it's amazing. But is it like a? Is it like a telenovela? Yes, basically. All. Of it so far the show.

What is it called? It. It's a genre of media. So Thailand produces like their own dramas, but they they have queer focused ones. So they like, they have like one about like like gay men that love each other. Then they have one that about like women, just queer women. And the whole thing is focused on the queer women. And like you get the whole season, you get the whole story and it's not cancelled. And there's like 10 of them airing right now simultaneously.

They're saving queer media by themselves, Thailand. So our question is. Yes. Would you go to any plans to go to Thailand? Because it's like the motherland of queer television at this time. I would totally go 100%, absolutely sign me up. They just also legalized same sex marriage. They've been. In. A while, yeah. It's going into law soon. Yeah, yeah, I feel like it could be really cool if you can like figure out how to get in the. Like the? Film scene there and like.

Oh my gosh, if we can interview some of these actresses, right? Yes. People would die if you could do. That like literally, yeah. So we have a list. And if you. Can get them? Can you bring us or? Like, my God, literally. There are two of them coming to America soon. Yes. Are they doing like conventions and stuff? They're doing, they have like these fan meets. Yeah, they're. Version, yeah.

OK, yeah. I feel like I'm, I this like pinged on my radar because someone wrote to to Tello and said, hey, can you look at getting these two things? And I was like, OK. And I, you know, I, I sent it to my acquisitions person and they were like, oh, these are some Thai dramas. And I was like, yes, wait, what? Is one of them gap? Yeah. You probably gap. Probably gap. That was the thing that Rick really started it all.

Anyway, OK, well we will look into this and then I will I will promise that Tella will work on getting the rights to these amazing shows and that we can just have a a whole thing of Thai lesbian dramas. Wait, where do you watch it at? Where is it like? They put it so like the shows air on their, like their, like, I don't know, cable television. And then immediately afterwards they put it on YouTube so that international people can watch it.

So it's very accessible, which is why it's like everyone's. Except there is one show right now called reverse for you that. Netflix picks only on Netflix, Yeah. Yeah, so it's universally on Netflix. Yeah, I'm totally looking into this. Oh. Yeah. Oh, as you should you have. Changed your life? The R is in my favorite show is Blank, but you kind of have to watch Gap first. Wait, because someone mentioned blank. Blank someone mentioned. They should, as they should, okay.

And so there is an actress named Phi in Blank. And just the big gay energy. It's just, it's just, yeah. Okay. Off the charts. Okay, all right, well. If you write her in Thailand, you'll Even so you'll get those stretch. You can go get a haircut from her in Thailand. Yeah, no, she are. You from real? Yeah, it's amazing. Yeah, go there if you could like. Just visit that visit. Hey, a girl. Would actually go we might OK

and this. Yeah, you all are really inspiring us right now, Yeah. You're welcome, Thailand. Let us know when you go. We'll do. We'll send you an e-mail. OK, so there was a reason why we asked this because of what you just brought up. So they're in a lot of these shows, They like to go to the beach and stare at water, at least in like the Gap, Blank Universe. And we joke around that the beach, a place that they go to, is the Isle of Lesbos because it's so queer every time they go.

But you've actually been to the Isle of Lesbos. How was it? What is it like? What is it like? It really is just this magical place. I still think about it like almost every day. And we've been back like what, 3 weeks? Yeah, 3 or 4 weeks. So here's the thing, the Isle of Lesbos is actually one of the largest Greek islands. It is closer to Turkey than it is Greece, even though it's part of the Greek islands.

So in order to get there, you can either take a ferry from Athens or probably some other places or you fly in from Athens. Or if you live in the UK, there are a few direct flights into their capital city, which is called Mittellini. So Lesbos itself is huge, but it's also mountainous. So like you, you are at the sea and then you look up and there's like a, you can see the top. So I guess it's not like a mountain, but it's like big.

It's very hilly, so to get to what we believe is the Super capital of the lesbians, which is Scala Aresos, which is where Sappho was born and lived, you have to take then an hour and a half car ride through a very windy up and down to Scala Aresos, which is truly a magical place. Like I cannot say enough about the quaintness. There's there is not a a chain store insight.

There is not a chain hotel. They are these little cute fishing like village and they have these porches that look out on the the Aegean Sea. I mean, it's magic. It's not. There's naked beaches with women who have like who are laying out and like being their free self. And the food y'all, Oh my God, it's so fresh you have no idea. Yeah, and they have the. Best thing you ate? Yeah. What's? The best thing, the figs popped into my mind. The figs that is. I mean, that makes sense.

The best fig I've ever had in my life. And I guarantee you'll be, no matter what fig I have, unless I'm there again, that no fig is gonna beat that fig. Yeah. But they really. Like, but like fresh fish, Yeah. Like, you know, just just the vegetables were so fresh, like the, the hummus, the tzatziki sauce, the but the the fish, the fish was just like the freshest fish I've ever. Had and, and there's two women's

festivals there each year. So there's like, I think there's one in May and then there's the Sappho Women's Fest, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, this coming in 2025 in September. And it's just like it's, it's magical. It's magical. I, I, I there's a there's a reason. Yeah. So it's sorry. There's someone. My mom is talking in the background. So my apology, I don't know if you can hear. Her. No, OK. Yeah, I can. Do you want to tell? Do you want to pause for a

minute and. Tell her yeah, yeah. Sorry, I don't. How should we? Move. That is what editing's for, sorry. About. Sorry about that. Don't be. I know she's talking about So my cousin was is in is from Asheville, NC. She's in the. And her health? Is affected by the. Flood So they're talking about helping and doing some stuff and and so and they also can't hear really well, so they tend to clock. What was that? What was that drink that I had that's local to the island?

Uzo Uzo Uzo. Have y'all ever had Uzo? No, I've heard of it. OK, it's you like that's not. Grish, it's not. Great. I do. Yeah, it's, it's clear. Like, yeah, I think a lot of liquor like. I do too, like everybody can. I do, I love it. Oh, you would love it then. And like, everybody drinks it there and like, it's like. It's the cheapest drinks there. Too. Yeah, it's like the.

Drink and then you just pour like, you know, like this much in it and then you pour water and put some ice and that's how they drink it. Oh, interesting. You eat that all day. In America, they take it as a shot. Yeah, there. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, that is family gathering. So she was like, horrified when we mentioned that She's like, no, no, no, no, no. No, if you do go to Portugal they do have a regional drink like that called Ginja.

Yep. I tried to order some and have it sent to Nashville and then the people said they could do it and then it didn't make it and I love it. I've literally seen it nowhere else. It's hard to. Find Yeah. It's very hard to find and there was one place we went to where they give it to you in these little like chocolate shot glasses so you can like it's really good I. Like all the words chocolate and shot glasses, I was. Think I was telling Marina she had to drink.

I saw, I think, I think it was Feed Phil, maybe one of the travel shows. They were drinking that drink in Portugal. I'm like, I'm going to go to Portugal one day and drink that drink. I want to do it. But if you all can see if you can reach out to like the, the, the, the people or the, oh, the travel country, like we there was, there were influencers there that got there for free and like you all have a lesbian podcast. You should see it. Like they'll let energy go there.

It's either like the Greek people or the lesbo. I don't know who, but there were influencers there. There was, but like they would have. Been paid for that there so they. Or they got she got there for free, I don't know. But Big Energy should definitely be there. Yeah. I think we should go to Lesbos Caitlin. That'd be amazing. Lesbos, Thailand. We have a lot of places we need to. Go there, yeah, you have a lot of you have a lot of places, but but Lesbos really I believe it

is the motherland for lesbians. There is a vibe there. It is inspiring. I think being in this place where Sappho, I mean, I was just, I've been so inspired by the fragments of Sappho, her story, the influence that she, you know, she lived 500 years before Christ. She lived like 500 BC. And still we talk about her today. Still she has this influence. Like, it's just incredible. Yeah, Sappho changed the world. She did, she did, she did. Oh, yeah.

So anyway, but yes, that's that's that's my one of my places to go back to. This is from your original quest question. Theo of like let you go. Yeah, no, totally. Well, you've given us a lot to think about and hopefully you've inspired our listeners to like Get out There, See the World, or at least check out the Lesco Travel Show to get a taste. Of that would be.

That'd be great. Yeah, we have quite a we also our Instagram does have a ton of clips and like little like stories from our travels as well that kind of highlight where we go. And of course we're a sapphic

run site. But yeah, that would be, that would be great that, you know, I and I do want to, I would be remiss if I didn't do a little plug. Because of our travels, we have run across a ton of single lesbians or, or lesbians who have, you know, been with their partner for all these years and they are going through a divorce or they left them or they're in a bad relationship. And so Stacey and I actually wrote a journal about how we called in one another. We believe we're our our

soulmate. And it's free if you have Amazon Kindle Unlimited right now. But you know, just just a quick plug, if anyone is looking for their soulmate or going through a breakup, we have some really great free resources because we believe everyone should travel and find love and find community. And that's our kind of our mission through this travel show. That's beautiful. That is so beautiful. Well, we just those are all the questions we have for you both

today. Thank you so much Kristen and Stacey for talking to us. And it's I'm inspired now. Now I really want to listen. But thank you for everything.
