Out and Caitlin let us know that it conveniently has a recap of season one. I'm excited to see Nelly again. I hope. I hope they're in the first
episode. I'm pretty sure. Well, actually, I don't know. I, at this point, have read literally all of the comic, the graphic novels, the books. I just got Solitaire, so I'll read that soon. So I have. That's part of it. I saw that. I didn't know what that was, That's what. Started it all. It's like Tori's story is what I understand. The sister? Really. Yeah. It's. From what I understand, it's Tori's the one that started it
all. Tori, Springer, the Sister, and then Nick and Charlie were background characters. And then Alice was like, let me explore them. And that's what started Hard Stopper. Well, that's cool. Yeah, so I'm very excited to read that. So I kind of have an idea of what's gonna happen in Season 2 and I'm so excited for it cuz. It's. I understand why the show got all the seasons. Now that I've read everything, like I get it. I get why this was a very important show. So very excited.
I prefer to go in blind. I know. All right. Are you ready? Yes. Is this thing queued up? Yeah. All right. So in 321 play. No, we are the stars of Heart Stopper and with Season 2 coming up very soon. We thought we'd give you guys a recap of everything that happened last season. Let's get into it. I appreciate. It, Charlie. A student in Truem High and all Boys Grammar school with the story. I guess so.
Charlie's. One of the only openly gay students and is in a very I think that's part of the end of the toxic. Relationship with a guy called Ben. Why are you talking to me? And I don't even know who you are? Ben. Misery. On the first day back to school, Charlie meets me. I mean, he meets Nick, a popular rugby player who also goes to Truem High. And kind of looks like a golden retriever, or so I'm told. Hi.
Charlie quickly develops a massive crush on Nick, but his best friends Tao and Isaac and El insist that Nick is straight and the crush won't go anywhere. Charlie's friend group is also going through some changes as El That's Me has me from Trim High to Higgs Girls school. This has really shaken up Tao because he adores El and is scared that the group is
breaking apart. Surprise surprise, Nick turns out to be a very kind, loving person, and he supports Charlie through a secret breakup with Ben, who was never. I can't believe. We haven't mentioned Tori yet. She's Charlie's very wise older sister who happens to know all along that Charlie and Nick were more than friends. How do you Shapiro of nowhere? Older sister Magic. Nick and Charlie start hanging out and having lots of fun together until one day they end up kissing.
Now this is super confusing for both of them as Nick has always thought of himself as a straight person. Knowing he has something going on with Charlie, Nick tries to back out of a date with my character Imogen. But her dog has just died and he feels bad for her, so he agrees to go to Nando's and the cinema. Rest in peace, Imogen's dog. So shall we meet at Nando's for dinner and then we can go to the cinema? Yeah. Meanwhile. In her new school.
Elle becomes friends with Tara and Darcy, who are a very cute lesbian power couple. Are you 2 like dating at the? Beginning. They carry out their relationship in private, but through the series Tara and Darcy decide to let the. World know, so you and Nick are definitely not. I'm a lesbian, OK? I'm not like Haemophabic. I'm an ally. Congratulations. We thank you for your service. I mean, that really could have gone in a different direction
with that comment. Back at Trim High, Charlie's friends, especially Tao, are still a bit suspicious of Nick's intentions. But after a proper full on gay crisis involving some bisexual panic over Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, Nick ends up proving himself as they start a secret relationship. Another of Charlie's friends, Isaac. Played by me walks. In on a cozy moment between Charlie and Nick after rugby. Awkward, but Isaac is super trustworthy and won't say
anything. Near the end of the season, Tau and Al have a will they won't they moment where they hold hands and come close to kissing. But they don't. Finally, Nick settles into his bisexuality and that's Charlie to officially be his boyfriend in a very cute scene on the beach. You're my boyfriend. I'm your boyfriend. We're boyfriend. He also decides to come out to his mom, played by the one and only Olivia Coleman, who lovingly accepts him for who he is. I know who.
Olivia Coleman. What's in store for Alan Tao? Watch Hearts of the Season 2 and find out the end. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I have subtitles on Netflix so it just like. Well, something's about to happen, so that was episode one out. What do you think, Caitlin? It was cute. It's definitely heart stopper, absolutely always cuteness. Got the whole gang back in that one. Episode 2, which is also really great. Yeah, I love the scenes with all of them together. Yeah. So what do you think's gonna happen? Something with Ben, unfortunately, yes. Oh yeah, You know what's gonna happen? I know what's gonna happen. So you can't even, like,
speculate. Oh God, I please, Imogen, don't. I just don't like misery protect imaging. She deserves better. I do like her. She is not in the original text, so. So you did not know about the Ben thing? No. That is new, but I I anticipated from watching season one. I was like, there's got to be more to the Ben story than just him being a bully. I'm hoping that Ben comes out this season somehow, someway, and then he becomes incorporated into the friend group.
Or just, you know, like an acquaintance that's not a bully anymore. In season 3, that would ideally be the best case scenario. Will that happen? Probably not. But one can dream. I can dream. What about the rest of the game? I I there was a longer camera shot on Isaac this time, which was definitely helpful. He definitely deserves more. And I'm just, I'm very curious when that's going to start happening. Probably around 3:00 or four,
yeah. Yeah, I think the secondary storylines start coming in. Isaac is also not in the original book. He's like based off of a different character, but not he's his own thing. So yeah, I'm very curious to see how Isaac's like, queerness gets explored because, you know, he's supposed to be like the Ace storyline. And so that'll be great because it's often not explored, but you can kind of see, like, the inklings of, like, he's just looking at everybody's paired up
except him. And so you can kind of see him being like, hmm, I'm not paired up. Is something wrong with me? Should I have that? Like, you can kind of see him questioning the situation. So that's pretty cool even. And like, he doesn't need to say anything. Like, I just, I love that about him because he's a very internal character. So I like the way even in that tiny moment you can see there's a lot going on there, like you pointed out.
Also, between camera angles and like the length of shots, you can tell what's going on in his head exactly. It's it's really, it's really well done. Tao and Elle are still frustrating the straights, man. They're the drama. They're the drama. Tara is Tara's usual. I love her. There's mentioning of parents on their end, so back story for them. I would love that. I would love to get to know them more. And Nick and Charlie. Is everything gonna be perfect?
Caitlyn, there'd be no show if it was perfect. What were you doing here? All right, so how much would you hydrate for lesbian Jesus for the first episode of season 2? 6.5 Six point 5.5. Maybe 7. It's just, I don't know it's we're starting out we got we can't give it too much. It's gotta grow. Giving it a nine. It was great. There's nothing. I mean, it was cute. I mean. You rate this show high all the time. Anyway, this show is so well
done it's hard not to like. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. There's I had no critiques negatively on the first episode it it explained the gap like it picked up right after the gap, did a time jump, then got the story moving again. So I like the continuity. It had all the cute camera techniques. They had a lot of them, Charlie and Nick being cute and kissing and just showing that they're generally happy together. It's bringing their friend group into it.
Getting into the friends a little bit like they did a lot in one episode. Like, I thought it was great, cuz sometimes things get lost when you transition seasons, especially when there's a gap between filming, no? The transition is great. It's great like 9 like that.
That is how you pick up a season, like start off a season strong and it's set up. Set up a lot of stuff already cuz like we have Paris Trip, we have the Ben and Nick stuff, we have, you know Isaac, it's already like whatever. I mean, not that. You're saying all that? Like, I understand. Yeah. Like, great, great continuity. Great stuff.
I don't know how to write stuff. You rake it on what you're watching and how you feel and just, you know, as a first episode, I thought that was really strong nine. You know what? I am glad that there wasn't too much been in it. I mean, you don't have time for too much. Been in the first episode, first episode, the setup episode. I like the sleepover scene. Yeah, it was very cute. Like, I love it. Can't wait to get further into season 2 and watch the rest of the season. So far so good.
