Cine Ink presents a radio adaptation of ‘Kali Shalwar’ (काली शलवार) by Sa’adat Hasan Manto (1912-1955), widely regarded as one of the greatest short-story writers of the Indian Subcontinent.
Manto faced legal cases for obscenity in his short stories such as Dhuan, Bu, Kali Shalwar, Khol Do, Thanda Gosht and Upar Neeche Darmiyaan.
Pervaiz Alam, Director, Cine Ink and former producer with BBC Hindi & Urdu Services in London, presents the story in his voice. Editing and Mixing by Chandra Mohan.
