9. Crop Insurance For Dummies

Is crop insurance confusing to you too? Not to worry, Jena’s husband, Levi, is a licensed crop insurance agent and he joined us as a guest this week! Tune in to learn how Levi’s family got started in crop insurance and hear Levi talk all things crop insurance and dumb down the confusing things that are a foreign language to us common folk! Food is Levi’s love language and breakfast is his favorite meal so he shared his tried and true biscuits and gravy recipe!

Levi’s B’s and G’s

• Brown desired amount of ground sausage
• add enough milk to cover browned sausage, heat through (**for richer flavor use less milk and add 1 cup chicken broth here)
• in a cup, make a slurry by mixing 1/2 cup COLD milk with 2 heaping tablespoons of corn starch until smooth
• add slurry to warmed milk/sausage and stir over medium heat until thickened to gravy texture
• season to taste and enjoy over warm biscuits
• **add milk if gravy is too thick and add more corn starch slurry if it is too thin
