Episode description

Kris and David are guestless as we discuss the week that was January 11-17, 1999.

  • We start with a wild WCW section, featuring Nitro, where Janie Engle makes a rare TV appearance while Eric Bischoff faces the wrath of Klondike Bill in setting up the ring, Pepe the stick horse meets his demise, Raven and "Jim" play some backgammon, and more. We also have a weak episode of Thunder and the third annual SOULED OUT pay-per-view, which features Hulk Hogan whipping David Flair pretty fiercely with his weightlifting belt, among other things. We also have all of the other news and views in a very interesting week for WCW.
  • Then we go International, talking about AJPW, where Vader and Kenta Kobashi have a major battle, NJPW has its annual contract renewals, Michinoku Pro is falling apart, AAA is changing the way they book their TV tapings, CMLL is having issues with their American partners, and a whole lot more.
  • Next, we go to the Indie scene, where we talk about a big health scare for Terry Funk, Public Enemy returning and Sid Vicious debuting at the ECW Arena on a very newsworthy show, Jerry Lawler running for Mayor of Memphis, Andre the Giant on A&E’s Biography, and lots more.
  • We close with the WWF, featuring the go-home Raw for the Royal Rumble, which includes Mankind's first appearance on live TV as the WWF Champion, The Undertaker and Dennis Knight/Mideon having a special moment together, "Sammie” trying to console Mark Henry, and more. We also talk about the future of Shawn Michaels' career, Jim Ross’s recurrence of Bell’s Palsy, and more.

We've got a slam-packed show this week, so don't miss out!!!!
