Hello, and welcome to this introductory episode of Between Data and Risk and Insightful podcast, bringing you a unique perspective on business processes, data science, and risk management. I'm your host, Dr. Maria Shian, and with me is my cohost, Art Goya. Hello, Arturo. What are we planning to talk about?
Uh, over the years, we've, uh, been working with different clients in our, uh, company condition shared Solutions, and we've got a, uh, ton of lessons learned from, uh, various companies, various businesses about process design, about the use of data risk management implementations, and we've seen repeating patterns of, uh, issues cropping up,
uh, of things that went well and things that didn't go so well. Uh, we've seen some brilliant examples of, uh, solving the problems, uh, that we think, uh, could really be shared with our audience. So in the coming episodes, we will be having some brilliant guests who will share with us their experience in running businesses and applying data and risk to improve their operations. Uh, we will also talk about utilization
of data and new emerging technologies. In the spectrum of industries, we hope to be as industry agnostic as possible. Uh, we will be interviewing seasoned business people, uh, running, uh, big organizations, small organizations, entrepreneurs who are just starting up, uh, and building their process. Uh, from the ground up, we will be interviewing experts able to share practical advice, uh, on, uh, their particular areas, especially data risk, process design, process mapping.
What, what is critical, I think, and it's worth mentioning is that we will be talking mostly about practical solutions. We believe in learning by doing, and we learned a lot by doing a lot. And, uh, we want to share the practical aspects of everything, but we will be, uh, discussing. Uh, so who is this podcast aimed at? Uh, who's our, uh, audience that we're targeting?
Oh, I think this podcast will appeal to business owners and executives who want to find down to earth and practical assessments of applications and limitations of trending solutions, technologies, and paradigms. And why do you think it's worth listening to us? Well, we've, we've got, uh, you've got quite a pair of host here. Uh, my, uh, uh, co-host Dr. Maria Cak, uh, despite his best efforts, uh, in the job market,
still considers himself a data scientist. Uh, he combines his scientific background with industrial experience, used to be a science director, uh, in a private research institute, a data scientist in, uh, for 500 companies. Uh, author of the first published peer-reviewed model of Covid 19 Global Spread. Uh, recently coth, author of the first book on practical implementation of new data architecture, uh, data mesh in action, uh, as well as a coth author with his wife, uh, of, uh,
a great book. No one has ever heard of, uh, Pharmacon great novel. I really recommend you read it. Uh, my cohost Arthur Goya, even though he's an IT person by education training and at heart, he found himself working as a trader in equity markets, uh, including, uh, 2008. Uh, but even then, he earned more money than he lost for his employer. Uh, he then became chief risk officer in one of the tier one banks, and then he decided to become his own boss and help people with his experience.
As we mentioned, we ran the consulting company condition shared solutions, uh, where we help our clients streamline processes, uh, increase operational efficiency and build operational resilience. So, Arthur, when and where people will be able to find our podcasts.
